NorCo Exec Lamont McClure met with members of the Lehigh Valley Justice Institute yesterday to discuss measures to reduce the population and contain the spread of Covid-19. Currently, there are no cases at the jail among either inmates or staff. One inmate is in quarantine.
Attempts to reduce the jail's population is a coordinated effort involving the courts, DA, Public Defender and Corrections. This started in April. First, candidates for bail reductions on pending charges or probation violation detainers are identified. Second, non-violent offenders identified are furloughed for a certain period of time. They are required to check in regularly with Corrections officers. When the furlough ends, individuals must return to NCP and serve the balance of time they were supposed to be confined. Currently, thirty non-violent inmates are out on extended furlough.
Another McClure photo op, big deal. He has one everyday. Can't wait until he meets up with big Steve Lynch and finally has some questions to answer. No more fluff pieces.
ReplyDeleteYeah, good luck with that. While I eagerly anticipate following the race regarding his platform, Lynch will most likely get smoked. I don't even think he'll even get to the general. But given today's political climate who the hell knows anymore.
ReplyDeleteMr. Lynch is a patriot. He will speak to the truth, you will never read here.
ReplyDeleteKeep emptying those jails. Philly already has 63 murders as of today. 63 murders in 41 days. The so called experts, the usual suspects from liberal think tanks, blame Covid, "equity", racism and whatever other nonsense they can think of. None of them mention bail reform or the emptying of our prisons. Defund the police and make them villains, at the same time put more criminals on the street. Add in DA's like Larry Krasner, who refuses to enforce the law because he thinks criminals are victims. Then these same people are dumbfounded at the skyrocketing crime rate! These people are idiots.
