Biden Supporters Reported Interfering With Voters at Drop-Off Boxes

As I made my way into the Northampton County courthouse one day last week, I saw Sandy Werner, clad in Biden-Harris regalia, sitting outside.

"You're not approaching voters, are you?" I asked her.

"Bernie, I know better. I don't want to ruin this," was her reply.

While I believe passive electioneering like Sandy was doing is constitutionally protected, no one should interact in any way with a voter who is in the process of dropping off his or her ballot. It is illegal to assist a voter unless that voter indicates on his or her declaration that assistance was requested. That mist be signed both by the voter and the person rendering assistance.

According to tea party member Joe Barna, a Biden supporter at the Emmaus Drop-box is approaching voters and asking if they need help making sure the ballot is filled out correctly. This is not electioneering but is interfering with the right of suffrage.

  1. The Trumpkins are already creating the talking points on why their big orange leader is going down. It is sad you give it any credence. It is more bullshit from the Trump cult.

  2. I was approached by a Biden supporter at the Drop Box at the Lehigh County Government Center and asked if I needed assistance. I agree that this is interference. One would think, especially at this location, the county election officials would be preventing this.

  3. Only if it’s true. There needs to be more than just the story from one obviously partisan for this to be a story. Given the GOP attempts to suppress the mail in/ drop off vote in Pa, this “story” is suspect at best.

  4. So Bernie, if I am reading this correctly... 1 guy says 1 person was at a station in Emmaus volunteering to help people with ballots. Isn't your title to this post misleading? 1 person does not constitute supporters. Plus, isn't the accusation of offering assistance a bit much to constitute interference. I'm not saying something hasn't happened but there isn't much info here to support the title of the post and there doesn't seem to be a lot of evidence to suggest this is a "crime."

On the flip side, what will the title of your post be about the armed militia men standing 3 feet from the vote deposit box?!?

  5. Hmmm. At the point of ballot drop off, everyone’s ballot is already sealed since the person is about to drop it into the box. So it would be impossible to provide assistance in filling it out. Therefore it would be useless for someone to try and interfere in this way. My assumption is that this is a bogus story put forth by the tea partier to instill lack of faith in mail-in elections. I dropped mine off at the 911 center and it was a ghost town.

  6. I believe the claim of interference bc the day after the drop-box opened in NorCo, someone in NorCo was approaching anyone who had a ballot and asking them if they needed assistance. I do not know if this person was associated with Biden, Trump or just crazy. The purpose of this post is to make clear that only passive electioneering should be allowed near a drop box.

  7. give it a break, bernie is just informing everyone to not bother voters. plain and simple. No need to get all defensive.

  8. BOTH parties just need to STFU and stay away from any/all polls at this point. The die is cast, there are no more undecideds out there struggling with this vote and if there are AND if they're influenced by the last button/t-shirt/flag they see going into vote, maybe they're not worth the effort in the long run.

  9. Another someone said someone some where did or said something at some point. Typical Trump BS. Always the victim.

  10. The purpose of the post is to state that passive electioneering is allowed near a drop box...
    Nothing more ...end of story

  11. The ballots are sealed going in ..,.what could possibly influence anyone at that point?

  12. State guidance prohibits poll watchers from electioneering..or campaigning in favor of a particular party or campaign..IF. They are within 10 feet of the polling place or inside it .....if a person keeps a safe and respectful distance ( over 10feet) away from where voters cast ballot..no foul no harm

  13. Your assessment is inaccurate bc this is not a drop off box is not considered a polling precinct. You have no right to ask anyone if you can “assist.”

  14. Bernie , I was wrong about the Biden’s . You corrected me months ago. My new intell is that Joe was to make an “ override” on his own sons set up . This based on E- mails found on a server to sons own daughter. This might hit some news shortly. Feel free to post my comments I made. Now understand, I don’t like the Presidents comments, rather I like his execution of fixing stuff. I’d rather see Chief of Staff Meadows running . I’m a middle class ( entry ) I do think of working for stuff , not Toll Bridge jobs. I believe I should be able to carry my firearm on an bus or aircraft. .after all my commitments and training. That Air Marshal’ s can’t evan hang with. I believe term limits should be be in place with a decreasing compensation, but not lifetime.
,for service in House or Congress . So- I hope this country will hold together after this election. I hope we a “free people” are not going the way of Bolivia.

  16. So, as long as a person is not engaging with voters near the drop box, within 15-20 feet...that person can observe without consequence

  17. Proud Boys' email threats. Now there's a story.

Anyone who believes this *)$*# story about Biden's son dropping off his lap top and forgetting it there with emails from 2015 should get their head examined. Then again most trump supporters do need to get checked out.

  19. @1:54 and 11:10

Both of those stories are complete dog shit. The difference being one was openly solicited by Trump and is now being pushed by a campaign surrogate which completely invalidates it to most voters with a shred of intelligence. The Proud Boys email and similar ones targeting Trump supporters I do believe are coming from Russia/Iran to sow discontent.

I do hope that Biden lays a massive beat down on both of those countries in early 2021.
