WaPo Quiz: Which Democratic Presidential Hopeful Agrees With You Most?

In the latest of the debates for Democratic Presidential hopefuls, held last night in Nevada, Michael Bloomberg took a beating. I almost felt sorry for him. Bloomberg did come across as condescending at times when talking about his wealth. Joe Biden probably had his best night of all these debates. Amy Klobuchar continues to impress. I particularly liked when she referred to some of the zingers sent out to candidates about heart conditions, and then said Donald Trump has no heart at all. I also  sensed some real animosity between her and Pete Buttegeig. The BernieBros. continued to demonstrate they are assholes by heckling Biden over immigration during his closing. I did not care for Warren's attacks at everyone, and thought Buttegeig looked bad when he called out Klobuchar over her inability to name the President of Mexico, whose name escapes me.

So who should you support? Washington Post has a quiz of 20 questions, from which you can determine which of the Democrats are closest to your own views.  I took the quiz, and the two candidates closest to my views are Joe Biden and Mike Bloomberg. The two candidates who diverge most are Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

  1. When are the real democrat candidates going to run, I’m looking for Rosevelt,Truman, Kennedy. These people look like a old TV show, Gilligans island and the singing group the village people.

  2. Looked liked a bad Saturday Night Live skit on NBC . Saw this on a Facebook page earlier and need to agree. What has happened to the old Democratic Party, because this isn't it anymore. What a joke.

  3. None, especially since they're all babykillers in the mold of Josef Mengele.

  4. Well one thing is clear, this group of pigmies tried hard to take down Bloomberg. Problem was they all looked pathetic. Blomberg was genuine. Joe was over the hill, sadly. The others were silly and pathetic.

Only Bloomberg has a chance against Trump. The rest will get ground to dust.

If you want to win, Bloomberg, if you want the full Monty go for change, Sanders, Or you can do the woman thing just because and lose indignantly.

  5. I took the quiz and failed 8/20 Bloomberg was the closest. I guess ill have to finally switch parties. Trump 2020.

  6. Pretty sure the President of Mexico is Trini Lopez.

  7. Fox News Channel, while only showing small snippets of the Trump Rally in Arizona, once again shot to the top of the overnight TV ratings, burying NBC's Wednesday Night Live Dumb, uhh, Demo Debate. Just sayin'....

  8. Has to be a brokered convention with someone new entering at the last minute. Maybe someone from the entertainment or sports world. No one in the current group can generate enough interest to defeat Trump.

  9. It was pathetic...that is all.

  10. As an objective Republican watching the debates, I just think Sanders comes across as some kind of a mad man, I wish he would stop swinging his arms around, pointing and gesturing. I wish someone would consult with Warren on her wardrobe. Is it just me or does she have like 4 outfits, each consisting of a pastel jacket, black pants and a black t shirt. At this point, I'd vote for Mayor Pete if I was forced to vote in this primary, but the Dems have put together a lackluster field. Could the Dems nominate an an old, white billionaire (Bloomberg)? Wouldn't that be ironic?

  11. Where is the person with the image and style of a Bill Clinton, none of these candidates were impressive in a positive way. I watched the ex-governor of Illinois hold a press conference yesterday. He was far more articulate, more sincere and all this after spending 8 years in federal jail. I am not a Blagovich supporter, just remarking on his appearance, and speaking ability. If not for his record, he could probably win a primary against this bunch. The question is, have the Democrats run all their good people out of the party? 100 million democrats and this is the best they have. If you spend decades praising mediocrity and punishing excellence is this the result?

  12. If the establishment believes they are going to insert someone else at the convention, they are crazy. It will make the 1968 convention look like a birthday party.

  14. I totally get it why many of you cannot support any of the people on the stage last night but I'll never get how that justifies your support for a corrupt, amoral mobster who would be a dictator if allowed. Both parties need a new face to emerge from outside the current known candidates or this nation is as dead as Rome was at its end. If that bad result should happen maybe the guiltiest parties are not any of the candidates including Trump but instead are the people of all sorts of backgrounds and beliefs who allowed this travesty to take place in what was once the greatest nation in the world.

  15. I took the quiz and bloomberg was my choice; however, his stance on gun rights makes it a hard pass for me.

As a libertarian watching the debates last night, i thought warren gutted bloomberg. Her attacks on him and his record on women at his company were very effective imho.

There is also no way i would vote for warren. I liked gabbard, yang and mayor pete but they will not get the nomination.

This will be 2016 all over again and i wont be voting for a candidate rather i will be voting against a candidate

Anyone but Trump, unless you're happy with a banana republic dictator intent on destroying the Constitution.

  19. bernie has made this comment before regarding trump destroying the constitution yet he does not acknowledge the left's continued attacks on free speech (fake news) and gun rights.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Like Richard Pryor once said "VOTE NONE OF THE ABOVE"

    ReplyDelete
  21. Actually, Trump's attacks on the media and free speech are part of the threat he poses to our Bill of Rights. Anything he disagrees with is fake news. That is not the way the world works, that is the way an authoritarian works. Also, even our conservative Supreme Court has consistently upheld reasonable restrictions on guns. The Second Amendment does not mean you have the right to drive a tank or keep bazookas in your home and howitzers in your back yard.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Trump destroying the Constitution? Nonsense. He’s a very strong leader, but not stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  23. and yet bernie, it is the left's attack on facebook, twitter and other digital platforms and the cancel culture they are promoting that has limited free speech in the name of limiting "hate speech" or fairness

If a person wants to be an idiot and spout hate they have every right to and they also have the right to deal with the repurcussions of that speech. However, limiting that speech is a direct attack on the constitution.

And your gun argument is laughable as nobody is talking about bazookas or howitzers; however, they are talking about limitations to semi automatic rifles, handguns etc as recently as this past week in Virginia. Again a left legislature attacking the 2nd amendment.

  24. ".Bloomie crashed and burned @ debate, Old Joe was once again focused on the past and Ms Warren soared"

Bloomberg did lousy as I thought he would do. He is not a debater, but is a technocrat. Biden did talk too much about the past but was strong. Warren is trying to gain back lost ground, but I frankly thought she came on too strong. Klobuchar and Buttegeig both held their ground. Bernie reminds me of Trump, especially his supporters.

    ReplyDelete
  25. 9:18 Amen...

I agree there are many similarities between BernieBros and Trump supporters.

  27. If the Trumpsters think none of the Dems are good candidates, I'll vote for a dead cat before I think a narcissistic idiot deserves my vote again.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You “sensed it”? Lol. You mean you saw and heard it. I think Amy and Pete are going to get a divorce

    ReplyDelete
  29. BERNIE --people like you are bogger threat to our country than president TRUMP--TRUMP is getting rid of the political class and is makinf fools of you left wing radicals--HA HA HA

    ReplyDelete
  30. I really don’t believe you are serious, 9:49. But, if you are, You should probably WRITE IN your wife’s name next election. Just kidding!

The logic you are putting out there, though, is bad news for young adults if your view is in the majority. Our corrupt Members of Congress, our law-ignoring Department of Justice, would have their way with any dead cat. America will be gutted, the cat turned into violin strings.

  31. "banana republic dictator ..."

Like a guy who'd spend $50 million to stay in office past the two-term limit in NYC? Like a guy who dictates how large a soda one may purchase, or how much salt a restaurant may use? Like a guy who's ordered his reporters to not cover him or do any investigative journalism on him?

I think Trump's an ingrate authoritarian. But it seems you actually have a soft spot for authoritarians. You just prefer a certain flavor. Or perhaps it's best to fight an authoritarian with an authoritarian? Either way, we end up with an authoritarian, again.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Bloomberg on free speech: my reporters may not cover or investigate me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @9:38 so we should just accept the limitations and reduction of our rights granted by the 2nd amendment?

Should we disallow certain speech and rhetoric because we do not agree with the opinions of others so it must be hate speech or discrimination? Who gets to decide what rights the populace should have or not have. Should it be Trump? Should it be Sanders? Bloomberg etc?

Trump, Obama, and Bush JR have all eroded our rights in the last 20 years in the name of security and at a certain moment, we need to take a stand to defend the constitution and the bill of rights.

And you have Sanders saying that people should be limited in how much they should make and has openly talked about using the tax code to confiscate individual wealth (property rights) in the name of the collective. How far down the rabbit hole do we have to go on this

    ReplyDelete
  34. What you guys label an Authoritarian, I consider as someone who works hard and refuses to have it all taken away by bullies. This is resistance, not offense.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Bernie THE NAZARETH LEFT WING LIBERAL HATES TO TELL THE TRUTH--fake blog AND BERNIE SAYS tRUMP LIES???

  36. Bernie
Why do you think journalist or their networks that have obviously shown bias against this president are above being criticized by him? Honestly...If you were treated in the same way would you not punch back? The House has pretty much given this president a rectal examine and can't find anything. Ok.. I get you don't like his boorish approach and some of his policies, but if the law allows him to do what he is doing and the people don't vote him out or storm the gates, than why not argue to change the laws? This constant demeaning his hurtful to all of us in the end and will only come back in spades.

BTW...When Obama chastised Fox and did you defend Fox? My apologies if you did.

    ReplyDelete
  37. 10:17 Come on, man. The Constitution is about many more rights than those that you cherish from the Second Amendment. Trump, who caters to you through your one favorite amendment, is shredding the rest of your rights, under the Constitution, and you're OK with that? If all you have left after Trump is done is the Second Amendment, I have some real bad news for you. You have NOTHING. I am saying this as an old, white, male who doesn't need to have guns to demonstrate my manhood.

  38. Trump has not restricted free speech in any way, He has exercised his right of free speech. He has not banned anything that I know of, other than illegal migration. The press needs to grow up, they like to dish it out, but are offended and cry foul when they are challenged. Their right of free speech is unhampered. Their standing in the country has declined from their own behavior, not from Trump's tweets.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 11.06 be specific what rights has Trump destroyed.

    ReplyDelete
  40. 11:09
The answer is none...they just don't like what he says and their feelings are hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  41. They are all championing authoritarian schemes. A darling of the US left, Trudeau in Canada has proposed government registration of media outlets - including bottom feeding bloggers. He'd like to control bad press (the kind that show him in black face) by calling it fake and prosecuting non-approved outlets. This is coming our way, too.

First they came for the Fourth and Fifth Amendments (i.e. The Patriot Act). Then, they came for the Second Amendment (guns bans, PSP's list of owners, etc). The First Amendment is next (although we already prosecute motivations and words with hate crimes nonsense).

    ReplyDelete
  42. Lehigh Valley leftists define themselves by what and whom they hate, rather than by what and whom they love!

    ReplyDelete
  43. 11:19, Yes, authoritarianism exists on both the left and right sides of ideology. Trump is an example on the right side. He's definitely coming for the first amendment.

    ReplyDelete
  44. He has pretty much ignored every provision in the constitution with which he disagrees, from the emoluments clause to his trampling on the first amendment to his assertion of powers reserved for the legislature to his willingness to ignore the eighth amendment (waterboarding), 14th amendment (no equal protection for Muslims), etc. Like I said, I am going to do separate and very specific post on the danger he presents to our Constitution.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Bernie Bros disrupting Biden at the end? Dam paper told me it was the "RAICES, a prominent immigrant rights group". Must be fake news.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The greatest country on earth has only dolts who want to lead. We're doomed.

    ReplyDelete
  47. 12.09, same old vague interpretations, but no actual offenses have occurred. If you actually believe that the emoluments clause means you can never be in the private sector and run for office. that is ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Bernie YOU MUST HAVE BEEN A TERRRRRRRRRRIBLE LAWYER.....

    ReplyDelete
  49. Bernie, you act as if the second amendment that is the right to own a tank, bazooka and howitzers are the crazed lunatics of the left that would use them against innocent Americans. The fact is the people that do own such arms are collectors of historic artifacts of war. Than there is the all important black assault rifles they want to take away, the general public would be at a loss even the the terrible black assault rifle. This being most of the public doesn't possess the ones with the automatic switch on it, one trigger pull one bullet not bursts of bullets with one trigger pull. Please do a study on witch parties theories have embraced killing of unarmed people and for that matter the lefts now killing of babies that have arrived in the world outside of the womb!
The public is all ready at a disadvantage except for those collectors and marksman that have many thousands of rounds of practice.

  50. The only side I see attempting to shut down speech is the left. If they don't like a particular Congressman, Bernie Bros roll in to a baseball practice and start shooting. If they don't like your opinions, they dox you in an attempt to destroy your personal life (as Bernie's done a few times, here). Huck Finn and Nigger Jim? No way. One of the greatest American anti-slavery classics is now banned. Words are powerful and leftist, socialist leaners know this well, from Pol Pot to Kruschev, to Justin Trudeau to Bernie and Liz and the gay guy who's doing well.

    ReplyDelete
  51. 12:50 and if you read about them, they support Sanders

    ReplyDelete
  52. 2:35, extremists like you are the ones who try to shut down any speech with which you disagree. It hurts your little head.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The Dems apartly can’t agree to disagree. Except for complete idiot voting (meaningless pulling of levers) ,I cannot see how some one that works for living would deal with anyone on that line up. Trump is not my favorite man in the world. But he’s out front, and the least of eval compared to Hillary. Minnie Mike is going to show . I predict he will be Trump s opposition in the general election. The 2/A issue will defeat Mike at least 40% of votes . So that’s my line up. When other Dems figure out Mike will finance himself, the other smart one will be able to steal DNC funds somehow to retain their presence in present capacities and bow out. Dis - functionality in compass agitated. This is the beginning of their end.

  57. I’m only worried about 2 things -

    Successful election cheating by Democrats
A reversal of the wealth and prosperity Trump brought to our citizens

  58. I have voted in 9 Presidential elections. Democrats 4 times. Republicans 2 times. Libertarian Party - once, Green Party once, and Constitutional Party once. This year I am writing in a candidate for the first time, and it might just be Mr. Bernie O'Hare's. Seriously Bernie, don't be surprised if you see your name listed. You do good work for our area. Why not the whole USA?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Vegas oddsmakers have Bernie way ahead to win the nomination. Given his supporters' attempted assassinations performance at that congressional Republican baseball practice, the general election campaign could be a real shoot out.
