You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
We realize this is your favorite government and you just love Finney and the rest of the boys but really?? You go that long without any needs of tax increase means one of two things. You either have taxed residents to high for years or you are over developing your township and reaping the associated fees and taxes while maxing out livability and resources. Either way you are doing a disservice to the residents.
ReplyDeleteIt is time for some new blood and fresh air in that township government. Open the windows. Time for someone like Tara Zirinski to look into he townships shenanigans.
Yeah, ok.
ReplyDeleteEffective Leadership is always criticized. Time for 2:13 a.m. to understand that and the fact that Tara Zirinski puts her foot in her mouth every time she opens it. Perfect example was the recent fire in Allentown. The solar queen immediately blamed the gas company.
ReplyDeleteif they have a .5 millage tax for fire, Why do they still have a volunteer Fire Department? When will these "supervisors" have full time fire/ambulance services like every city surrounding this township?
ReplyDeleteSame question goes to Bethlehem Township
Fortunately both these Townships have active volunteer companies today. Similar to other areas and states 90% of all fire companies are volunteer. PA needs to take the bull by the hand and really consider county run fire services similar to other areas of the country. You might be sorry when that happens because your county taxes will skyrocket. Volunteerism is down across the board, sports, PTA's, scouts, etc. Times are changing. Bethlehem Township has 2 departments with competing objectives. Merge them today.
Delete"Time for Tara Zrinski to look into the Townships shenanigans."
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I haven't laughed that hard in awhile. She CREATES shenanigans.
Bernie, would love to hear your thoughts on Jeff Warren trying to bring his politics into Hanover. The more info the better.
ReplyDeleteIt will come. Too soon.
ReplyDelete9:43, the fire tax enables the township to set aside money for vehicles without borrowing.
ReplyDeleteSo you plan to smear Warren for your insider buddies, the political insider hire Finnegan and the ever pleasant(sarcasm) Decongety. Time for Warren and Zirinski to open the windows.
ReplyDeleteIt is too soon to write about a small race, but Warren has three DUIs to his credit, and yes, that is something people should know before they vote.
ReplyDeleteSo much for a campaign based on hONESTY and iNTEGRITY. Truth is an absolute defense.
Delete"We realize this is your favorite government and you just love Finney and the rest of the boys but really?"
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear about quality, accountable local government. Here's a municipality with a a high quality of life and reasonable tax rate providing excellent services and competent staff to its residents. Not every local government story has to be negative. Good for Hanover Township.
No money in the budget for pool repairs?
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke. Ask Funnygan about his millions in reserves he boasts about at Managers meetings. Why not give that back to the taxpayers?
ReplyDeleteThis is almost hysterical by someone who is obviously a peer. I'll bet you're just like me, another one of his peers who call him up and steal his forms, policies, ordinances and ideas. I consider him not only the dean of the municipal managers because of his age but because of his knowledge. He's been an agent of change for all of us.
DeleteTHz best ting about Bernie's Hanover Twp. post are the reactions to comments. It never fail's that if someone posts anything uncomplimentary to the Hanover leaders they must strike back and tell you how great they are. It is funny how thin skinned they all are.
ReplyDeletePeople know that their chairman JD is really thin skinned an does not tolerate any criticism, The manager is also snow for his temper. These guys need a,"suck it up cupcake lecture" on being a public official.
He is not the Chair, but the Twp Manager, and is justifiably proud of his work with friends who know what he does and who do not like to see him attacked. He obviously inspires jealousy in others.
ReplyDeleteWarren seems like a media whore. Says NRA is the devil - loves to film himself. Bashes republicans and offers no solutions to issues. Prolly brings section 8 to Hanover. Blowhard.

ReplyDeleteBernie - when did PA allow electronic devices in the booth - and why does it show a Finnigan name? wtf?
I am unsure that is my precinct. Nothing like that happened on Election Day.i would have asked Warren to leave. A candidate can visit the polling place. But he may not campaign while there, nor can he use electronic devices within the polling place, I will be asking him about this and when and where it occurred. I do not recognize any of the people there and the set up is different than my precinct.
ReplyDeleteThat's Asa Packer Elementary School in the video, Bernie.
DeleteWarren as a Hanover supervisor would be a disaster. He needs to take his slimeball politics elsewhere. It's unfortunate that he's out there making it seem as if Hanover has a lot of issues and that he's some sort of savior.
Lawless is backing him - campaigning with him. What a joke.
ReplyDeleteHe has every right to campaign. That's fine. Lawless has every right to campaign with him. This is America. But that video is improper.
ReplyDeleteAs the weekend trolls emerge from under heir rocks, moderation is enabled.
ReplyDeleteBernie, please ask Mr. Warren how many Hanover Township Board of Supervisor meetings he's bothered to attend prior to, and/or since, the primaries.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who is seemingly interested in being involved in that township, you would think that number would be higher than zero. Shows how much he really cares.
