DiLuzio To Stay in DA Race

Despite questions about whether her loyalties really lie with the Democratic or Republican party and even more basic questions about her honesty, Nuria DiLuzio is soldiering on in her quest to snag the Democratic nomination for NorCo DA on May 21.

She was a no-show at a Kirkland Village candidate forum on Monday. Also, there were no updates on her Facebook page since word broke that her home was decorated with a Trump-Pence campaign sign.

Yesterday, she made clear she's staying in the race. She posted this on Facebook.
"Thank you to the many many supporters who have called or messaged me in the past week expressing commitment to my campaign for Northampton County DIstrict Attorney. Attacks on my character and disingenuous remarks by my opponents will not stifle my voice or push me out of this historic election. Discussion of critical issues of criminal justice reform and creative and compassionate approaches to the opioid crisis and treatment for mentally ill offenders should not be drowned out by personal attacks.

"Please join me in getting out the vote on Tuesday, May 21st and in being a loud voice for change in Northampton County."
So far as I know, DiLuzio Democratic opponent Terry Houck, has mounted no attack aimed at her character or honesty.

That would be me.

I believe they are entirely appropriate. In a race for DA, questions of character and honesty matter far more to me than Trump signs. She denied that there was a Trump sign at her home until a picture of it surfaced. She then said it was only there a day or two, and was put there mostly to annoy a neighbor. Over the weekend, I was provided a second picture taken at a different time of year.

We deserve a District Attorney who is above vindictive actions aimed at a neighbor. We deserve a District Attorney who is honest, even if it hurts a little.

DiLuzio continued her campaign last night at Bethlehem's 540 Club.

  1. If what she means by historic election is a dog whistle to her being a woman that is truly sad. There are plenty of talented woman who could have been viable, experienced and transformative additions to the field this year. Judge Roscioli perhaps, or former ADA Kelly Lewis, now an Assistant US Attorney for instance. However, Diluzio is not one of them. The only thing historic about her candidacy is the potential for a vindictive, deceitful and unstable person to rise to the chief law enforcement officer of Nothampton County.

    1. Couldn’t agree more Nuria is known as an unpleasant, unethical, obnoxious, rude and possibly incompetent attorney. Disgusting she has an role in the county, esp after her husband secured his current position.

  2. Is there any question and answer forums coming up? If so someone should ask her if she plans to switch back to a Republican after the election, like Bernie Sanders running as a Democrat and the immediately switching back to an Independent after the election.

  3. Forget this nonsense. Vote Tom Caroll,Republican. Let's make Northampton County great again!

  4. The only reason why the campaign against her is she drinks at the wrong club in Bethlehem

  5. I'll vote for her over the carpet bagger looking to suck teat on my taxpayer dime. Let him run where he lives in Bucks county. What a sham

  6. She should have pulled out of the race. Bernie's' narrative is full of personal flaws, not beneficial to a DA. Playing the "gender" card is the absolute worst. She has the somewhat known Bethlehem name and the big money behind her.

Mr. Houck is now the better choice. However, she can probably ride this out for the next few days until the election is over. Unless anything new surfaces or she says or does something stupid.

So how about the Dems asking Donchez and Boscola if they are still big supporters? Ask Carol Ritter as well.

  7. This is a shame. She has the big money and a known Bethlehem name. She should have pulled out of the race. Bernie's narrative paints a poor picture of someone who wants to be DA. She appears to be disingenuous about everything from party politics to her "explanation".

Sadly, she will probably win as she only has to coast for a few more days. She has the big money and big dem supporters who are amazingly quiet.

Playing the "woman" card is rich.

    “I believe her.”

  9. Haven't heard any negative comments myself, from Terry Houck. Bernie's the opponent. And Terry bought a home in the area, as he plans on being a long time resident, already performing in an admiral capacity with the DA's office. Why would anyone want to ignore all that is happened/happening?
Maybe if detrimental facts were presented, I'd rethink Houck. But so far he has my backing!

  10. Diluzio and her desparate housewives co-star, RudeASS, and now just that, DESPARATE. We don't need any more entitled, corrupt politicians in the LV. We met our quota with pawlowski last year. Don't go away mad, just go away....

  11. DiLuzio is grossly unqualified.
Anyone who supported her is grossly incompetent.

I don’t give a damn about where Houck called home.

  12. Keep an eye on the DiLuzio supporter.
They are the worst of the partisan hacks that the party has to offer.

  13. READ ALL THE COMMENTS ABOVE, AND THEN VOTE FOR ROSEANN JOSEPH. QUALIFIED, HIGHLY INTELLIGENT, SINCERE AND DEDICATED TO HELPING OTHERS REGARDLESS OF POLITICAL AFFILIATION. JOSEPH ALL THE WAY. WRITE IN JOSEPH FOR DISTRICT ATTORNEY. DID I MENTION SHE IS ALSO A CUTIE.

  18. The biggest issue to me would be that a criminal defense attorney. ,(I would think ) just may run up a reason for conflict of interest and hold up the process repeatedly. This is almost like when the DA visits a crime scene,it can complicate things , he or she could be called as a witness. It seems to me as a layman, non professional, and just a citizen/ voteing taxpayer , that this conflict could somehow get some really bad folks released that are otherwise guilty of something, and justice system locally would collapse. I do not know this lady and I’m not adversely against here. Am I off base here.?

    1. Peter, you and I are at opposite ends of the political spectrum but I always respected your points of view (most of the time). You are not off base. You hit a home run I believe. Conflicts like this would only fuel an endless string of appeals and any defense attorney would use this advantage to free his/her client, guilty or not. As for 12:54, she was rude and condescending, like something didn't stink. That was my first impression of my limited dealings with her. This isn't a gender issue. She is just a bad choice.

  20. What is up with all the BERNIE SANDERS comments. Did he endorse somebody in the race when he was here?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I worked with her in a very peripheral manner about 15 years ago when she was a public defender..."frequently wrong, but never uncertain," as they say. Since that time, she traded in her first husband for her current one, which was clearly a professional decision. She changed her political affiliation, and set her sights on the DA's office. She is one of the most narcissistic people I have met, and she condescended to everyone. I won't vote for her just based on that. However, I am also curious how much of an impediment it would be to the judicial process if the DA is married to a police chief within her jurisdiction. Wouldn't she basically have to recuse herself from capital and high profile case that involve Bethlehem PD so there would be no accusations of prosecutorial bias? I would think the appellate court would have a field day with that scenario. Elect someone that can do the job.

  26. I have not received a mailer from either candidate but am told Terry has sent six. In the world of politics, seven mailers are the equivalent of one personal contact.

    1. Thanks for the reply, Bernie. I’m a so-called super voter, so I’d rather no solicitations because they just go to the recycling center. I do miss the days of candidates walking various neighborhoods. I did that with many a candidate and it was both fun and educational.

Curiously that did not matter with Morganelli.
He was only sniffing for a job with Trump. and lied about it.
Must be different standards for different people.
Guess honesty is not needed for a guy who wants to be a judge?

  29. Anon 5:53 we may not be , I vote for the candidate ,not the party line and usually split some votes . I just want as mush personal integrity as possible, given who is a candidate. That’s all. Personally I would hang dishonest elected people from bridges ,with signs that say I took your money . But that’s too radical,so .... I’m primarily civil in my retirement age capacity. And I sign my name ,because I’m have no fear of government or personal retribution.. except I will defend a NorCar Judge I think has been threatened. That guy is on ,my list.
