Dean Browning Distances Himself From Write-in Campaign

As you can see from the Facebook post on the right, Easton Mayor Sal Panto is upset. "Hundreds" of papers are all over Easton. They promote Dean Browning as a write-in candidate in the Pa-7 Congressional race. The nominees in that contest are Republican Marty Nothstein, Democrat Susan Wild and Libertarian Tim Silfies. According to Panto's sightly exaggerated account, his fair city has been "destroyed." He's going to call Dean today and tell him to stop his senseless attack on Easton because "dirt sticks to the rape and it looks horrible."

Calling Dean Browning is something Panto should have done before posting his rant. That's because Dean is waging no write-in campaign. He has no campaign workers. He supports Marty Nothstein. He introduced Nothstein at Thursday's tea party meeting. Dean is no rapist, either, though he admitted to me that he does like to pillage now and again.

Thanks to Panto, people will blame Browning for these ugly pieces of paper.

These signs, if they can be called that, are localized in Easton, Wilson Borough and West Easton. I saw them in Easton and Wilson and called a West Easton friend who confirmed he saw them there along Main, Spring and Ridge Streets.

That's where Tricia Mezzacappa lives.

I googled #NEVERNOTHSTEIN, and what came up was a Write In Dean Browning Facebook page. It has a grand total of 13 likes. It is a product of Tricia Mezzacappa, who identifies herself as "Tricia Jenn" in the lead post.

What appears to have really rankled her is that Nothstein, an Olympic cyclist, appreciated Lebron James for his own positive comments about cycling. "I was happy to hear LeBron James and I agree that biking is an important part of kids lives," said Nothstein in a rather innocuous post.

Well, we all know Lebron James has been critical of Authoritarian Donald Trump and is ... black.

Mezzacappa engaged in a similar littering campaign right before Trump's election and was charged with littering, but DA John Morganelli directed state troopers to withdraw the citations.

The photo above clearly shows that metal staples were used on a wooden telephone pole. This is a summary offense because it creates safety issues for utility workers. But I have no knowledge whether she posted that sign

The one person who must be delighted by this unauthorized write-in campaign?

Susan Wild.

Tricia Mezzacappa is helping elect her.

  1. You have no proof it is her. Why to you continue to malign this poor, young woman. Haven't you put her through enough?

  2. I’m not interested in prosecuting her, but she clearly is the person behind this hatred of Nothstein.

  3. So maybe Wild's people are doing it.

  4. Maybe Browning is really behind it as retribution for losing to Nothstein. His support is a ruse. He is pulling a double-cross and then can take on Wild in two years. It is obvious.

  5. O'Hare still holds a grudge because she went for the Med manmeat over him.

  6. I noticed one on the back of a traffic sign in Bethlehem Township Saturday on Freemansburg Ave near Southmont. Driving by I had not noticed the hashtag underneath.

Bingo. Just as I suspected. Though I usually don't place much weight on anonymous comments, I can fully understand why you choose to remain that way.

"So maybe Wild's people are doing it."

This is Tricia Mezzacraycray, it but I am sure Wild's people love it.

To believe your explanation, you'd have to believe that Dean Browning lied when I called him. He is a politician, but has never been dishonest with me even once. So I reject this explanation. The cRaZy Facebook page with the horrid photoshopping and the insertion of coments from her tell me that Tricia Mezzacuckoo is doing this and without anyone asking her.

  10. In Easton, I saw what I thought was thin scruffy looking older man getting in and out of a Cadillac taping these posters.

  11. From Panto's facebook:

"Hans Ertl I saw the woman putting them up just before noon Saturday. She was going up the south bound side of st. John Street. It was definitely rude to be putting them on EVERY post she could find."

Panto: "And the young lady doing this probably Doesn’t even live In our city."

  12. 9:19 thin girl looks like a thin man, getting in and out of a Cadillac, that is and it's a shame West Easton's rotten apple Mezzacappa. It makes sense as a person that became a constable because of 10 write in votes. Is there some kind of a code for constables that doing this is not becoming of a constable. Where ever she came from please go back the Easton area would be grateful.

  14. Mezzacappa is a politically shrewd policy wonk who also happens to carry a very big stick. The combination of brains and fire power scares the hell out of liberals and RINO's equally, Nothstein and his bicyclist agenda run contrary to what has made America great the fact he would disrespect #POTUS #DJT by celebrating Lebron James and his passion for a children's toy speaks volumes to his loyalty.

  15. Bernie, your readers should know that the Easton City Republican Committee supports Marty Nothstein, the candidate elected by Republican voters in the primary. I say this as an elected Northampton County Republican Committee member for College Hill (3-2) and Chairman of the ECRC.

Our goal, with regard to the 7th CD race, is to elect Marty Nothstein.

  17. Marty spent his adult life prancing around in circles while wearing spandex, no self respecting R would praise "King" James after all his treacherous vitriol aimed at the leader of the free world.

The bicycle lobby wants to clog our roads with eco warriors peddling at 10mph impeding commerce and auto commuters creating great inconveniences and safety issues.

Bicycles should be registered, taxed and insured if they are to use the roadways, otherwise stay on the trails.

  18. Kevin, he is the R nominee. I saw him debate Dean in the one and only R debate, and I think it’s safe to say he won that debate. As a Democrat, it seemed to me that Marty and Dean were both pretty much pro Trump. Mezzacappa, who posts under menacing names like Rat-tat-tat, has learned nothing from the defamation action against her, and is going to go too far again. She slams Nothstein bc he complimented LeBron over his love of cycling? Yeah, that’s a real issue ... if you’re a racist. And she is as the incident with the beeping cabbie proves.

  19. Hey Bernie, now that you solved that one can you and Mayor Sal team up to stop all of those "we buy houses" plastic signs that are planted at every intersection in the Lehigh Valley. If I wanted to live in Newark, I would move. (yes, I did try calling the number, but you get an answering service).....

  20. Pinpointing the differences between Marty and Susan is almost as challenging as finding the difference between O'Hare and a cane toad. Neither candidate has the interests of PA-7 in their horizon, with the far left Wild whose money is from out of state, and the far left to far right ricocheting Marty, whose pandering to the fringes on both sides has given him the curb appeal of a flat tire.

  21. Leave this poor, young woman alone. She is just not into you.

  22. There are very stark differences between Wild and Nothstein, and on almost every issue. It would be much more difficult to find differences between Nothstein and Browning.

  23. Ironically the City of Easton's City own City Code requires tape to be used for temporary signs.

    § 595-196 Permitted temporary signs.
    A. Temporary signs permitted in all districts.
    (7) Temporary signs advertising political parties, candidates for elected office or current ballot questions, provided that:
    (c) Where signs are permitted, other than on private property, signs must be fastened by use of tape or placed in the ground by a stake or wire.

  24. Ed,
"(c) Where signs are permitted, other than on private property,..."
    WHERE SIGNS ARE PERMITTED
You'll likely find another ordinance prohibiting using telephone poles, streetlamps, and railings.
Just because everyone does it for yard sales and lost pets doesn't make it legal.

  26. Marty should be excommunicated from the party for prancing around in those silly lycra cycle costumes

  27. Mezz is like the female version of the Marlboro man, a hot leathery pistol packing iconoclast who has captivated the publics imagination. Trump should dump pence the traitor and select TM for his VP in 2020.
