Fed Ed's Cake is Baked

Allentown Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski claims he's innocent of political corruption, and points his fingers at people he hired. He blames them for what happened. That's actually a lousy defense, especially when the feds can place you in the can, looking under stalls, in the midst of a bribery and extortion scheme.

Though this has not been reported, former managing director Francis Dougherty was asked when he was testifying whether Fed Ed is a liar.

"Lying is part of his DNA," answered Dougherty.

Ruchlewicz describes Mayor Pawlowski as a micromanager and "paranoid." He talks about the bug sweeps and says Pawlowski would only talk candidly in bathrooms when he felt he wasnt being recorded.

  1. I am enjoying Emily's coverage and she deserves an award. One day I think FedEd is toast and the next day I think McMahon is doing enough to chip away at the witnesses that he could get off.

  2. Bernie, was he not only gazing underneath the stall walls or was he also performing acts of his opperative gloryhole gatherers that have been installed in the stall walls too.

  3. A man who uses burner phones, sweeps his office and vehicle for bugs, only talks in bathrooms, requests everybody delete their e-mails is not guilty of anything. What a f----- clown. If this stalwart of integrity has not done anything illegal, why the clandestine tools and paranoia. Even if you discount the very credible evidence from the co-conspirators, this alone supports the facts that he is guilty. The defense that everybody else is lying, have no credibility, and that he had no idea all this was happening, is ludicrous at least.

According to Fran Daugherty, lying is in is DNA. He should plea now before he accelerates his sentencing!

  4. I hope Ed gets to watch more James Bond movies in prison. He will enjoy the shower room and since there are no stall doors he can have a great time there too....

Soon his NEW name changed by his new boyfriend AT THE PRISON to "Whisper's".... he will look great in drag and those black men love a baldy

  6. Bernie, I was a defender of Pawlowski on your blog until I read about testimony in the trial. It seems the FBI took it's time to assemble damaging testimony from credible witnesses. It is becoming apparent that Fed Ed blatantly abused his power to shake down donors. He has lost trust in his office. He will regret not making a deal. He is done, finished.

  7. Remember... his stage name at the prison showers is "whisper's"

  8. Bernie... two questions: 1.) how soon in your opinion until the trial ends?; 2.) what does city council do/can do once he is convicted?

  9. Politicians like Pawlowski have an ego and a sense of omnipotence and entitlement that don't allow for admission of mistake. He will go to prison confident in the knowledge that he is right and the whole world is wrong.

I think he tried to create a system where he instructed Fleck and Ruckewicz to do all the illegal stuff so as to give him the defense of plausible deniability. Bit he slipped up a few times and he had no way of knowing Special Agent Curtis was lying in wait for him.

  10. 1) 5 weeks.
    2) City Council has 30 days to appoint a mayor.

  11. I fully agree a plea agreement is the only way to go at this point. The jury is being overwhelmed by more than 50 crimes. Don't know if the jury is aware of the others who already plead guilty, but that shouldn't matter. An average person on that jury should be expected to believe that with so much going on over such a long period, and with Pawlowski obviously knowing he was behaving improperly, he needs to found guilty of some of those charges. At least some, if not most, of the charges.

Better to be jailed in some minimum security place for a year, than to be put into a medium, or high level population of inmates for 7, or more, years.

  12. the city of Allentown is a ( Questionable) Strong Mayor form of government according to the commonwealth based on our charter. strike one for p was when he hired Fran to be "City Manager" a position not in the charter. 2 If its not done his way where he gets the credit for the work you have done he fired you. Proof of that is in the Halloween parade where he has fired upwards of 10 people including two solicitors. After telling me I needed to incorporate it , which I did as O Oldest H Halloween P Parade in A America Family inc a non profit. We then put the longest largest Halloween parade since Hess's Berman ran it . Every High School and college band in the valley was in it as well as every Pa National Guard and a mutual agreement inner city as to who went 1st so all municipalities could share in the talent. Yet because 7 to 10 people told Napoleon I legally own it and couldn't get my proprietary info he fired all of them all because he wanted to claim as he has for 15 years other peoples glory for the work they have done for the citizens of Allentown. I Called him napoleon in the mcall October of 2006 as he wanted more power he then went on to run for governor and senator proof I knew him and his ego well. He has one lung and 2 bad wrists he will serve another con well as their cellmate Josephine enough said

  13. one other Note Napoleon ordered me to return 15 grand to our major donor who was thinking of developing the Neuhiler brewery , but hasn't and so I did every penny and yet to this day 12 years later he has not let me run what he told me to incorporated Sorry citizens of Allentown again Hapoleon Josephine wants all the glory to his benefit and his benefit alone not yors or anyones , the emperors new robes will be orange soon

  14. This guy is toast. Sorry Mayor Pawlowski, the business of governing Allentown should not take place at urinary stalls.

    Please end this charade now

  15. @ 11:11 am In the 1969 elections, the voters of Allentown rejected the "City Manager" form of government. Pawlowski's job is to be the Mayor which IS the "City Manager", and not use his position as mayor as a stepping-stone for higher office, as that is what this trial is about.

Pawlowski was using the Mayor's office as a way to muscle campaign contributions for his aborted runs for Senate and Governor. He was elected to be a full-time mayor, not a full-time campaigner. He brought his Chicago baggage to Allentown, and we got a Democratic Chicago regime. He needs to pack his bags and be sent to the Federal Prison at Joilet, where he can be with the rest of the corrupt political trash that emanates from Chicago.

  16. There's video of the bathroom conversations!!?!?!?!?!!!! Wondering how this video was surreptitiously obtained, and if it will be publicly released.

Joking about male rape in prison has been acceptable for my entire life. I've participated in this banter myself, thinking it harmless. I now realize this banter is not ok -- it's disrespectful to all victims, jailed or free. Moreover it should go without saying that in a society which respects human rights, nobody deserves to be raped, regardless of past criminality.

  17. “Lying is in his DNA.”
True, and it’s in Frans DNA as well.

Allentown’s Democratic Party apparatus is a dumpster fire.

  23. BOH: Canary is correct...Page 6 of The Morning Call, Column 4, middle of page:

"The Mayor led Ruchlewicz into a men's room, where, after the video shows him checking under the stalls, the two discussed how much Ruchlewicz should demand [from Northeast Revenue]".

  24. " 2.) what does city council do/can do once he is convicted?"

Ed can't be removed from office until he is actually sentenced. Given that I expect him to appeal the conviction, that could be a ways off.

  28. The only honorable outcome would be for every member of Council to step down.

  29. 1:50, you are incorrect and misleading. He will be sentenced after conviction regardless of appeal. Don’t misinform my readers. Let me.

  30. I've noticed that Mayor Pawlowski has no neck. Is that what lawyers charge before an arm and a leg?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Bernie, do you know if the defense got to depose prosecution witnesses prior to the trial? When McMahon asks questions trying to draw out information that exculpates Pawlowski, is he flying by the seat of his pants, or have the questions been prepared in advance, with good knowledge of what the answers will be?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Canary, the defense is unable to depose, buthas to be provided with grand jury testimony and statements. So McMahon has an idea what they are going to say and can prepare accordingly.

  33. Two comments from "EdPawNotGuilty" have been deleted. They are posted by someone who promised a court to stop posting here. He has broken his word to a judge, is inherently dishonest and is unwelcome anywhere that he identifies himself.

  34. It is important to remember that the Mayor may be innocent. No one can say definitively he asked these people to do these things.

  35. Fed Ed will not enter a plea. He like Donald Trump is a supreme narcissist. They believe they are right and the world is wrong. All evidence against them must be false. A narcissist does not live in reality but in their own version of reality.

Both Allentown and the Nation are sadly saddled with two very flawed leaders.

  36. You know what I found awfully strange. I'm a member of life Church which is the same church the Mayor Asst is a member. That's actually where I first met his asst. When the Mayor was running for the first term I thought it was very out of the normal for E.P., I.A., J.G. counsel member and I believe there were 2 other men were at the service I attended. That these politicians were there and what was really strange was they were all made to stand up and were recognized in front of the hundreds of people at the service. I thought that was fishy. A very rich church promoting E.P.'s campaign by having them appear for service. What is more fishy is right after E.P. was elected life church got the ok to build and have another site of the church. They were working on that for awhile. And all of a sudden R.L. the head of Life Church announced at a service that Life Church got the money and ok to build. Very coincidental now since this Ramzi testimony. Now Life Church is in Symphony Hall!! And Lincoln Leadership Charter school has the building that Life Church was in. Lincoln Leadership Charter School turned it back into a gym. Which it was originally for the campus that was there before Life Church got it. The puzzle is coming together. How about the water Authority? That's part of this whole issue with the Mayor too. Just like D.G. the slumlord and business owner at 349-351 Hanover. ALL these years ALL the complaints about that place and Never was anything done!! It still looks the same as it did back in 1995 when I bought my house! WHY?? Because he is a POLITICIAN SUPPORTER, police, detectives, old and new, fire dept., coroner, codes, building standards, they all hang out there and he's a snitch on everyone but his damn self. He does illegal shit All the time. The DEP won't do anything about him burning shit in his stove that he's not supposed to be burning. Also that stove is burning unattended all night long. And the fumes that you can smell every damn night stinks terribly. What can be done?

  37. "It is important to remember that the Mayor may be innocent. No one can say definitively he asked these people to do these things."

The wires contradict this assertion. He can be heard asking these people to do these things.

  38. Pawlowski looks like a Weeble. He wobbles, but soon will fall down.

  39. I just googled 349-351 Hanover, because I did not know what 2/3 @ 1:34 PM was talking about. I cannot believe a junkyard like that is allowed to exist in what is clearly a primarily residential area! And, ya gotta love the O'Connell for mayor banner along the roof of that property in google images. Sad.
