15th Congressional District Endorsements Pile Up

Congressional candidate Susan Wild received some publicity yesterday that I'm sure she'd prefer to avoid. She testified for the government in the federal prosecution of Allentown Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski. She's Allentown's former Solicitor, and handled herself with integrity, but there are those who will blast her as well, usually anonymously.

But she's received a flurry of endorsements that include former Lehigh County Exec Tom Muller and the following current or former members of Allentown City Council: Courtney Robinson, Candida Affa, and Cynthia Mota, Ray O’Connell and David McGuire. She also has the endorsement of the Bobsey twins, State Reps. Pete Schweyer and Mike "Darth Voter" Schlossberg.

Congressional candidate Greg Edwards is supported by Bethlehem City Council member Olga Negron, Common Defense and several left-wing PACs from out of the area.

I am unaware of any endorsements for candidates Bill Leiner or Dave Weidman.

I told you yesterday about the Lehigh Valley Labor Council's endorsement of John Morganelli for Congress. Business agent Ken Kraft pointed out to me the labor Council is actually a collection of the following trade unions: Insulators and Asbestos Local 23; Boilermakers Local 13 Bricklayers; Tilesetters and Cement Masons Local 5; Cement Masons and Plasterers Local 592; Electricians IBEW Local 102; Electricians IBEW Local 375; Elevator Constructors Local 84; Glaziers, Architectural Metal Workers Local 252 DC 21; Heavy and Highway Laborers Local 158; Ironworkers Local 36; Laborers Local 1174; Millwrights Local 1906; Painters Local 1269 DC 21; Plumbers Local 690; Road Sprinkler Fitters Local 669; Roofers and Waterproofers Local 30; Sheet Metal Workers Local 19; Steamfitters Local 420; and Teamsters Local 773.

As for the Republicans, I have no idea what is going on at this moment. I would think that Ryan MacKenzie will have a tough time against Oluympic medalist Marty Nothstein. This might explain why his campaign office sent me a juvenile hit piece aimed at Nothstein. That's something I'd expect from Justin Simmons. Dean Browning was hoping to stand out in a large field of candidates. I think his chances have faded.

  3. I think you are underestimating, Edwards, Lenier and Weidman

  4. Bernie, just to clarify, the Lehigh Valley Buulding Trades endorsed John Morganelli. The Lehigh Valley Labor Council does not normally endorse in primaries.

  5. Attorney Wild’s enforcements will sink her ambitishions.
Moto is the poster child for incompetiance in an elected official.
Little Peter and Mike were the criminal mayors go-to rubber stamps before moving on to lifetime posts as State Reps. See their social media pages for touching post about their cute kids and lovely wives.
Lil’ Mike will be endorsing Attorney Wild twice. Affa was the very last to leave the sinking ship USS SENATOR PAWLOWSKI and Robinson is the new/old Jenn Mann hackmeister in training, a wholely owned subsidiary of Team Mann.
Mayor Ray O’Connols endorcement brings with it all the political acumen it brings with it and Muller is the guy who is now going to make Mayor Ed’s and Mayor Ray’s trains run on time.
Susan Wild may want to take a break from her campaign and see if she can help that small shop engeneering firm that the City of Allentown stiffed for over $650K on her watch.
If these endorsements don’t sink her campaign she may just hang on long enough to finish second or third in the race.

  6. From what I know RAY O'Connell MET WITH HER, BUT NEVER CAME OUT AND ENDORSED HER.
Saw him and McGuire at Panera WITH HER SEVSERAL WEEKS AGO.
No announcement or money sent her way.
I think he knows to much about city hall to endorse her.
Also, was told by a friend of his, he really likes Morganelli.

  7. Cynthia Mota endorsed her? Now THAT will make me immediately go out and vote for her.

    Not.

If you can inform me what Ms. Mota brings to Allentown city Council I would love to know. Having her indoor somebody else is meaningless. And that goes for Maguire too!

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

  11. Bernie as much as I don't like to admit it you under estimate Daugherty in a Democratic primary. The man won with no money before against a guy with 1/4 million dollars

  12. @10:03 Mota is a joke. A reflection of the clientele in the city.

  13. I thank you for seeing the light about the incumbent State Rep. from the 131. It seems that we now agree.

We do not agree about Susan Wild. I wholeheartedly support her candidacy for the 15th Congressional District. She is smart, compassionate and incredibly hard working.

  14. The Bobsey Twins are both part of the Mann Mafia.

  15. Susan Wild might be the smartest most compassionate and hard working person in the 15th Congressional Dist.
She never survived her connection to Ed Pawlowski.
    Her campaign is a nonstarter.
