Brown Signs Budget, Millage Rate Ordinance

I was deeply concerned that outgoing NorCo Exec John Brown would veto the budget, millage rate ordinance or both. I have just learned that he signed them both. Based on his last-minute attempt to sabotage incoming Exec Lamont McClure with a tax cut, I fully expected the games would continue.

  5. Thank you John Brown for taking the "high Road" as you leave public office. It is never easy for anyone who has lost an election to leave office knowing full well that he is leaving the County in Better shape than he has found it when he took office. The cash balance and reserves are higher than you had when you came into office. You could have left the County in a shambles by vetoing the budget and the millage rate but you took the high road. Thank you on behalf of all the taxpayers of Northampton County and we wish you well in your future endeavors.

  6. Good riddance to Brown, his sidekick Allen and rest of his "team". He was a cancer on the county and he's gone with a wimper and his $50 words like "synergies". Biggest bullshitter I've seen. The crap he tried to pull last week fits his M.O. He was convinced he could not possibly lose - and after he did he made up one last lie - that some analysis rolled in the door suddenly that showed the county was awash with cash. Kraft's assessment of that episode was spot-on.

  8. He took the high road because people like Bernie saw through his attempt to sabotage the incoming regime. If his business acumen is so superior, why didn't he propose the millage decrease, [with corresponding spending cuts], when he proposed the 2018 budget. Because in his small mind, he thought he would win and continue in his comfort zone. This jerk had every intention of putting the McClure team and council on their backs before they started. In criminal law this is called intent and he failed to accomplish this. Because of the way his cohorts on council fumbled the ball, he had no other alternative.
