Lou Hershman Deserves Your Vote

Courtney Robinson, a long-time Democratic operative and cigar salesman, is running for a two-year spot on Allentown City Council against Lou Hershman.  Though interested in politics and quite capable of raising lots of money from the politically entrenched, Robinson has no understanding of government and you'll never see him at a meeting. In stark contrast, Hershman served as City Controller for 24 years, and also spent a term on City Council.  As a citizen, he attends nearly every Council meeting  and has proven himself a fiscal watchdog.

Perhaps the most important service a City Council member provides is in the review and adoption of an annual budget, which is $105 million this year. Robinson is unable to manage his own finances. His landlord was forced to sue him twice, in 2012 and 2014, for nonpayment of rent.

City Council members are also tasked with responsibility for passing ordinances designed to enhance quality of life. Robinson pleaded guilty in 2013 to parking a junker on someone's private property. Is this the kid of person you want to address double parking and noise violations?

Lou is an East-sider with a successful accounting practice In all the years I've known him, I've never heard him attack anyone personally. His sole interest is good government.

This is a no-brainer. But this is Allentown.

    As a former councilman, Lou has consistently did what was best for Allentown. As a former union leader in Allentown, I crossed swords with him a few times. No matter what positions we were in, Lou always thought for the betterment of Allentown. In these times of political unrest in Allentown, Lou would be a welcome site on council.

    I hear rumors that a lot of Democrats are not voting for Courtney Robinson, apparently is true that he is not a very responsible individual...

    Robinson is a lackey/wannabe whose only experience is being an errand boy for others. If elected he will be a puppet for Jenn Mann, Pete Schweyer and Darth Voter Mike Schlossberg. He used to be Jenn Mann's chauffeur!
