  1. What do you think of that Bernie?

  2. John Morganelli is highly regarded and spoke in very strong terms. It will likely sway a few voters here and there.

  3. I will be joking our DA and will be voting for Lamont McClure and Bill McGee and Ron Heckman and Tara Zarinski and Peg Ferraro and Glen Geisenger, the other two incumbents deserve no vote

  4. I’m voting for Peg Ferraro’s pick. Morganelli doesn’t care. He’ll be running for another statewide office in ten minutes.

  5. Peg Ferraro now wants to give 15million to davinci in Easton Pa

    Smart choice. Moron

  6. 4:45 You are absolutely right BO. JM's endorsement sways me to vote for anyone else except his picks.

  7. Who the hell cares what Morganelli thinks !!!

  8. 4:47, Geissinger is one of those incumbents. He took a year off to run for Congress, his attendance is atrocious and he is way too smug and condescending.

  9. It’s interesting how DA Morganelli neglects to mention that McClure’s wife works as a full time employee in the DA’s office. Will she resign if he gets elected? Talk about cronyism...

    ReplyDelete
  10. As has been established many times, that is no conflict. She works for Morganelli, an independent elected official, and not the Exec.

  11. Anyone but the empty suit, John Brown, who is SO empty, no one even knows what he did for a living. And he's not that bright.

  12. Last week you complained that John Brown didn't get DA Morganelli's input on a new prison. So what you were saying is the incumbent County Executive should have consulted with his challenger's campaign manager on policy. #FakeNews

    ReplyDelete
  13. What is fake news? The only thing fake is your President. He's a pussy who speaks tough on NK and then goes and hides like a scared child. He's over matched just like the man of small intellect running our county.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Actually Bernie did complain about the lack of Brown communicating his plans with the DA and the judges (rightfully so). Maybe he did not want to discuss the prison with Mr. Morganelli, but he could have talked to any one of the Republican judges on the Northampton County bench that would have been open to listening with out reporting back to the Democrats.

John's endorsement really hurts the R's and they know it. John is popular, the R's never run against him and get concerned when he endorses which he rarely does.

  15. Peg just lost my vote with her enthusiasm for DaVinci Center.

  16. Can’t blame you. She was ridiculous last night, even to the point of insisting on funding now and pressuring the Exec to commit a specific amount.

  17. I find it interesting how everyone is so judgemental .when the facts are in your faces

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yep the facts that John Brown raised taxes and wants to build a $200 plus million dollar prison. I hear ya @11:21 am I hear ya!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes, taxes do need to be raised occasionally. I don't know about you, but I don't care to let this area further deteriorate.

  20. It's really not a big deal when an elected Democrat endorses a Democratic candidate. Are there any elected Republicans who are supporting McClure?

    ReplyDelete
  21. John has a great deal of bipartisan appeal so this really is a big deal

  22. Just received flyers dropped on my doorstep. Vote for the republican team flyers for Brown Geissinger Vaughn and Phillips. No Angle no Farraro flyers. Great team know then don’t get along politically

    ReplyDelete
  23. Geissinger and Vaughn and Phillips know they could be in trouble. They don't want to be associated with Ron Angle. They are very co9ncerned.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I voted for Brown, but not this time. He's a trump supporter and has filled his administration with dotards!

  25. i smell an R sweep. County employees who spend their days bitching on this blog are doing more to campaign for Rs than any 100 mailers and robocalls. And it's 3:40 PM. Has Morganelli declared his candidacy for yet another failed run yet? He doesn't even want to be in NorCo. Who cares what he thinks?

  26. The bog money Republicans got to Benol.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well Bernie all of this is academic. The latest polls are pretty clear andconvi8ncving. Apparently, Brown and the republicans will sweep just like four year sago. McClure will come up short as Brown's end game is superior. The county council will stay in republican hands. So the union guy that spent $50,000 for a county council seat should have just give it to charity. Seriously, who spends that much money for a council seat?

Bottom line the county stays firmly in republican hands! You can bet on it! Let the blamer game begin.

  28. 1:44 thank you i laughed my beer through my nose, thanks alot. you made me waste a good beer you PR*ck

    ReplyDelete
  29. @1:44 am and Geissinger had a poll that said he would beat Conoly and go on to beat Matt Cartwright in 2016 for Congress. I wonder if Brown happens to be using the same pollster?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wow this is an excutive election year. Living in Lehigh county you wouldn't have known it. Haven't really seen any coverage of the Lehigh county race

    ReplyDelete
  31. I've really been engrossed by the NC races. I will be doing one story on the LC Exec race, but my attention has been here.

    ReplyDelete
  32. People make fun of 1:44 but they have a point. I doubt the republicans will sweep but the democrats are doing their usual self-destructive dance. Word on the street from the insider is that they are already disintegrating from within. The democrats are a party of personalities without any real strategy. They are all political consultant experts in their own minds. When they have these group races you can count on them to sabotage their ticket. Apparently, they have already tried to play games with the head of their council ticket in order to push others they like more. Not smart but it is the democrats. Even going so far as to take the candidate's signs and not use them. This from one of the committee insiders. Nothing new for the dem's. Rather than play off the vote totals and popularity with voters, they do their insider, who do I like more, games.

It is nothing new with democrats and will no doubt once again hurt their chances on Tuesday.

  33. I am not making fun of 1:44. I am calling her a liar.and ironically, I have heard the same sort of thing about the Rs. And nit just heard. I've seen it with my own eyes. I've seen you party chair claim that she looked in Charlie Dent's eyes and saw the swamp. I heard she snubbed county council candidates at a recent dinner to promote the candidacy of political opportunist Justin Simmons even though he wasn't there and his race is not until next year.

  34. Every brown flyer that shows up in my mailbox is burned.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Bernie - Will you be covering any of the other local races? Outside of the league of women voters, not much out there. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I will be posting about Allentown and Lehigh County, but my focus has been on Northampton County. There has been almost no coverage of this important race, and this is my home base. Allentown is getting good coverage. Lehigh County, not so much. Bethlehem, just a little.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Bernie, maybe you can explain how and where John Brown saved the county $50 million. The "news" outlets just accept this statement. Where is the beef?

    1. If people looked at the budget, they could see it. But why would anyone who is ignorant enough to post “Wendy’s” know how to read a budget or care to? They read a blog because they are too lazy to do the real work....you should be proud!

      Delete
  38. Millions and millions of propped spending and yet Brown claims he can do it without a tax increase. The republican voters believe that? If they don't believe an experienced democrat like Heckman telling them that is crazy, why don't they believe an experienced republican like Angle telling them the same thing? Is common sense now a victim of party politics? I mean aren't the republicans the ones who claim to be the party of common sense? What happened?

    ReplyDelete
  39. His budget is bullshit. Please, smoke and mirrors. The campaign slogan of the Brown team should be the tax and spend millions team for the future. Republicans are proud of this?

    ReplyDelete
  40. lol at 1:44, who is also 4:36, endlessly citing "insider" tips and non-existent polls.

I mean, I get it, whomever you are. You're trying to drive down turnout. It's just like Republicans cynically refusing to contest the cities in order to drive down turnout because they hate democracy.

The problem is: do you really think anyone reading this blog is going to stay home because of an anonymous comment? C'mon now.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Brown is from the slate belt. McClure from Bethlehem Township. The choice is clear. Drain the slaters.
