Will Justin Simmons Now Have to Support the Dreamers?

In a recent interview on a conservative Internet station from North Georgia calling itself FYNTV, Republican Congressional candidate Justin Simmons said that if he had the last vote in the House, it would be against the dreamers, 800,000 people who entered the country illegally as children. He'd get rid of them all. Otherwise, he would be "encouraging people to break the law. And then it's just going to continue that cycle and then we're going to get into a debate with liberals about compassion and it's never going to end."

Well guess what? Donald Trump and Democratic leaders had dinner last night, and the dreamers were the first course. They've apparently reached a deal that protects the dreamers from the clutches of political opportunists like Simmons, even without forcing Dems to concede on a border wall.

It seems to me that unless Justin changes his tune, he's being disloyal to his President. Isn't that why he ran against Charlie Dent in the first place?

  2. Now you better not be disloyal to Trump.

  3. I believe that President Trump already said he would support a law passed by Congress to legalize DACA individuals when he announced he was ending the program.

  4. Cut trump some slack. He's still new at legislative negotiation strategies. Anyway, One person's DACA is another person's deal and amnesty can mean different things to different people. He's got a good gut and a good understanding of DACA policy in his gut, so I think he must have a well thought out anti-amnesty plan here. He didn't get this far without good decision-making, so I think he knows in his gut best whether granting amnesty is Good policy. Maybe amnesty isnt bad? I don't know anymore, but let's wait to see what's in his heart before we know if this is good or bad.

  5. President Trump realizes that in order for DACA to reach the floor of Congress, It would take Ryan and McConnell taking the lead. That's political suicide for the GOP if those two shepherd it through congress.

Pelosi and Schumer are under the illusion that DACA is popular with voters (which it isn't) and thus hoping DACA ends under Trumps EO and will blame the GOP to motivate Democratic voters in 2018.

The reality is that in the end Trump wins with DACA ending and the DACA imitative dying in Congress. Even Obama wasn't able to get DACA through Congress.

  6. Oh my this is such a clever article.

But shouldn't it read "Will Berniie O'Hare Now Have to Support Donald Trump"?

"Mr. Trump also warned lawmakers that if they do not legislate a program similar to the one Mr. Obama created through executive authority, he will “revisit this issue!”

so trump agreed that it was going to be President Obama's way or the highway.

    "Cut trump some slack"

    why?

donnie "two scoops" shit on anyone is his way and had no problem attacking anyone who disagreed with him.

trumpie was faced with reality and his deal merely reflects that reality.
besides who are those hard core dreamer haters going to vote for?
    a Democrat?
so donnie can afford to ignore them

Pelosi and Schumer saved them from that debacle and will remind them from time to time about that.

  12. Bernie,

Have you thought to ask Justin? Or do you just want to attack him. You're a better journalist than this, buddy.

No coverage of the Dent resigning rumor? You're Charlie's friend. Surely you could put it to rest. Or do you already know it's true? Enquiring (inquiring? I haven't had my morning covfefe yet...) minds want to know!

  13. The more Bernie trashes Justin the more I like him.Bernie has became just another out of touch angry Democrat. He was informative, now he is entertaining.

  15. Sometimes I think President Trump needs a refresher course on why people voted for him.

I really do understand the plight of someone who was brought here as an infant and is now a 20 year old college student - what to do with them is a problem. What I don't understand is why, if their parents committed the illegal act that put their kids in this bind, it's now MY problem.

What would I do with the 20 year old college student? I would not give him citizenship, but make him get in line and in the years he or she is waiting to be a citizen, perform some kind of community or social service to "buy into" the American dream.

The parents, I would send back to wherever they came from and if they passed a criminal background check, and wanted to re enter the US, they get in line too.
What I would like to see is the constituents of Pelosi and Schumer step up, the low skilled workers, the minority kids trying to get a job to pay for their rent or tuition, the senior citizens who might be looking for a little part time work to supplement their income, the legal immigrants, all of those people who are being shoved out of livelihood by the importation of illegals.

And build the wall already. The Empire State building took about a year to build.

    ReplyDelete
  17. It wouldn't surprise me if Pelosi, Schumer & Co immediately ran to the microphones after their meeting with Trump and lied about what transpired. Remember, their real goal is to separate Trump from his base. They don't really care about the Dreamers, they just want their votes.

Personally, I agree with keeping the well educated americanized ones as long as we deport all the others, i.e. 90% of the so called "dreamers"...That's a deal I can live with.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Simmons anti-Dreamers makes me anti-Simmons. That was so easy.

  19. "But shouldn't it read "Will Berniie O'Hare Now Have to Support Donald Trump"?

I've always maintained Trump is just an authortarian who changes his position on issues as often as the wind direction changes. He has no real core values as demonstrated by his amorality and three wives. But Simmons sez he's running against Dent bc Dent has not been loyal to Trump. So doesn't it follow that Simmons has to change his stand on DACA and amnesty? Shouldn't Lee Snover demand it,after she changes her own position?

    ReplyDelete
  20. "Wonder if your congressional dream guy Morganelli supports DACA? Doubt it he is adamantly opposed to illegal aliens or at least he appears to be."

Morganelli supports DACA. He is not a bootlicker like Justin and actually has reasons for his positions instead of blind loyalty.

I listened to the conversation in which Charlie was interrupted on the House floor while voting and he denied the truth of this manufactured story by Simmons.

  23. Schumer and Pelosi know that one of the best ways to defeat Donald Trump is to try to get his base mad at him, therefore, they're going to spin to the press to that effect any meetings and discussions they have with Trump. We will just wait and see what Trump actually does on DACA and not necessarily take Schumer's and Pelosi's word at face value, because they'll do whatever they can to damage Trump politically - including LYING.

    ReplyDelete
  24. "so trump agreed that it was going to be President Obama's way or the highway."

LOL. Justin, you ran against Dent for being disloyal, now what are you?

Lee Snover, I look in your eyes and I see the swamp.

  25. Bernie must really be worried that Simmons is going to be his next representative. Don't worry so much, he will not take away any of your benefits.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This is the first time I'm questioning Trump. Iv'e always loved the way he emotes, his negative affect and hostile attitude towards the illegals (parasites) and never really cared much about his policy ideas one way or another. I'm getting worried he doesn't have persistent and stable emotional positions. I don't know how to feel here. Is DACA and amnesty for illegals now good? I didn't think he'd lie abou amnesty.

I want to support him here. What's the correct emotional cue from Trump?

    ReplyDelete
  27. He's not in my district, so scant chance. But I intend to keep exposing his hypocrisy so that he never holds public office again. For a lousy attendance and voting record to poor constituent service to his decision to turn on someone who helped him to his unbridled hubris, he is the swamp.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I thought Dent had made a decision to retire way before Simmons announced he was running. That's what you and Dent proclaimed. So how can he be a traitor to Dent. Did he need to ask permission if he could run for his vacant seat?

    ReplyDelete
  29. This is the problem with any group planting their flag on Mount Trump: he's not a Republican, he's not a Democrat. He's a Capitalist. He doesn't care where the money comes from (provided it's not him). He doesn't care what gets done provided something gets done. He doesn't care who gets it done provided that it gets done. He wants to chalk up a bunch of victories and crow to the world about it. The Republicans have found out that he's not conservative enough for him, and the Democrats are finding out that he's just liberal enough to get some things done.

The guy is a political chameleon and I'm finding it refreshing to be honest. I'm all for increased border security, and I bet you Trump will put anything on the table for the Democrats in order to get that wall built. And the Republicans in Congress will have no one to blame but themselves for not getting their act together and supporting Trump, even if it was to their own detriment. They are screwed either way.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Everyone needs to chill, they are still in the foreplay part of this deal, there has not as yet been any consummation.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's not a done deal, yet. The president stated that no funding for the wall then, no amnesty for the dreamers. So, your comments against Simmons is null and void.

    ReplyDelete
  32. "The guy is a political chameleon and I'm finding it refreshing to be honest."

I find it disgusting. He has no core principles or beliefs, except for himself. he will lie, betray and cheat to win. On top of that, he's a pig.

    ReplyDelete
  33. "I thought Dent had made a decision to retire way before Simmons announced he was running. That's what you and Dent proclaimed. So how can he be a traitor to Dent."

Dent's decision was only know to family and close friends. Simmons was in Washington early in the summer, lining up finances. He is a political opportunist, and then slammed Dent and even went so far as to participate in a rally aimed at slamming Dent. he is a snake who claims Dent was not loyal to Trump. But Simmons was not loyal to Dent, a person who backed him and gave him money. If he threw Dent under the buffoon bus, imagine what he will do to you. He cannot be trusted and has no honor.

  34. Trump has become one of the biggest politicians ever. He will flex whichever way the wind blows--from hour to hour. Someone is more likely to win a state lottery then betting on what Donald will do or say next.

  35. See the recent revelations about the Lehigh County Republican Committee conspiring with Ryan Mackenzie against Simmons? They want to create a billboard of him as Nazi youth. I guess they need to turn to Democrat tactics of identity politics when they know they will lose on issues.

Remember when Bernie use to complain about the establishment in Allentown politics and the lack of real choices in elections? Now he supports the establishment. Bernie use to be a good blogger and now he just insults people who disagree with him. Bernie use to say good things about Justin until now because Justin decided to run against Dent because Dent was a hypocrite. Dent use to be against Obamacare and for lower taxes and now he flipped on both. Dent's big accomplishments have been naming post offices and highways, spending taxpayer money, and attending Obama's Super Bowl party at the White House.

  36. Always read the fine print. But we can't read anything until it's written, and only fools get their panties into a bunch over what the media and Democrats claim is going into the "contract." Their posturing/positioning will negate any deal.

  40. If Trump is the kind of leader who would throw a population in internment camps because of their race, or deport a 10-year old using SWAT teams with automatic weapons, then he's certainly an authoritarian. But Democrats are free to argue that Trump is certainly no FDR or Bill Clinton. Given these vicious examples of Democratic Party compassion, thank God.

Justin, This is what can be expected when you go on PoliticsPA and lob a vicious personal attack at the woman who chairs to Lehigh County GOP. I am amazed that you would call her out for "bias" when all she is doing is supporting a GOP incumbent Congressman, but you join a GOP Chair in NorCo, Lee Snover, when she trashes an incumbent GOP Congressman. You are a hypocrite, and a thin-skinned hypocrite at that. This is going to be fun.

"Remember when Bernie use to complain about the establishment in Allentown politics and the lack of real choices in elections? Now he supports the establishment. As anyone who reads this blog knows, I have always been willing to poke fun at the sanctimonious and those fakirs who hold themselves up as models of probity. And Justin, once you established yourself as one of those phonies, it became your turn.

We know that you sought out Dent's help. You sought and received money and an endorsement from him. He was willing to help you raise money, connecting you with those establishment types that you pretend to revile. Even after you broke your own word concerning term limits, he stood beside you and gave you the benefit of the doubt. So did I.

You then proceeded to break your commitment to the voters. You have taken a huge number of absences instead of representing your community. You have missed a large number of votes. You even voted when you weren't there. Ghost voted.

You then proceeded to stab Charlie in the back. You snuck into Washington this summer, looking for money from the very establishment you claim to oppose.

And now you claim to be against Charlie bc he stood up to Trump when Trump is wrong. You participated in a buffoon bus rally with Lee Snover and other brain-washed zombies who believe Trump can do no wrong, even when he grabs someone by the pussy.

This is because, just like Trump, you have no morals yourself.

I could understand people who liker Trump or dislike Dent. But you have established yourself as nothing less than a rank political opportunist who has thrown Charlie under the buffoon bus bc you think it might get you a few votes.

You want to drain the swamp when the reality is that you are the swamp. All you have ever done in life is work on the public dime. You worked for a State Senator and now are at the public trough as a State Rep.

If you throw a good person like Charlie Dent under the bus to get you Lee Snover and Tom Campio0ne, what happens when you throw them under the bus? And you will.

As a good blogger, I am exposing you as the phony you are.

    http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/13/politics/chuck-schumer-nancy-pelosi-donald-trump/index.html

""The Trump administration will not be discussing amnesty," Walters said. "What the Trump administration will discuss is a responsible path forward in immigration reform, that could include legal citizenship over a period of time."
Trump also defended on Twitter the undocumented immigrants protected under DACA, calling them "good, educated and accomplished young people" who "have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own."

of course the haters are calling trumpie "Amnesty Don."

  45. Bernie,

You're letting your rose colored blinders color you objectivity here. You were very wrong (and you even admitted as much) about Justin's first opponent and you are wrong about Charlie and Co.

Charlie is (maybe was, now) planning to resign. Sam Chen, political consultant at the Liddle group was telling everyone who would listen that Dent was planning to resign.

Again, you could put this down in 3 seconds but because you believe it to be a spurious attack by the Simmons camp, you won't even consider it. Either that, or you know it to be true. You're a rat bastard (and I say that as a fellow illegitimate vermin), but you've always had a sense of fair play so, I'm disinclined to believe the latter.

Jess B. had someone snap a photo of Justin giving his remarks at the rally at Jordan Creek (which your boy Charlie had blocked off by the local 5-O to keep people from attending. Interesting you don't report on that either.) where it -looked- like he was giving the Adolf Limp-wrist. That's cheesy, shameful politics by Jess as is her openly plotting against Simmons. She should step down and LCRC should appoint an impartial Chairman (Impartial, not Simmons sycophant).

As Forest said, "that's all I have to say about that."

P.S. the point of all this, Bernie is, "Be better than the Gap" https://youtu.be/EbNnVV5cnSw

Excuse me, but what on earth has led you to believe I've ever pretended to be objective. That is complete horseshit and any person claiming objectivity is necessarily a liar.

As for Charlie Dent, I consider him the finest public servant I have ever seen. He should be in the oval office. What Simmons did to a man he supposedly supported was the action of a snake. And when shown as the political opportunist he is, he lied.

I do not defend the text messages exchanged with tghe Hitler youth, but before that, Jessica was savaged on PoliticsPa. I saw the comment and saw how it shook her up.
