The NorCo Purge

HR Director Amy Trapp has been busy. In addition to suspending CPT David Collins, action has been taken against two other county employees. She suspended Andy Grossman, the County's Mental Health Administrator, just as he was about to embark on a family vacation. I'm sure he's having a god time. She also recently suspended a Human Resources Analyst in Human Services.

  1. Von Trapp should be purged. Like a rancid tuna salad sandwich.

  2. She is a self absorbed egomaniac who has her head so far up her own a** she hasn't seen daylight in years :)

  3. Sleeping beauty should have been fired not suspended, probably with pay. Could it be that because he is a director he gets better treatment? If this was an issue with a lowly worker since hire, he or she would have been fired. I feel bad for the HR staff who tried to address what everyone in that building knows.

  4. Queen Trapp, another travesty of the Brown Administration. I say down with the Queen, and start anew!

  5. @7:08 am... Mr. Grossman had a stellar record and was promoted into his position. How do you know his sleeping as you allege wasn't due to a medical problem like sleep apnea or some sort of prescription drug reaction that caused him to not be able to stay awake. These things could and should be determined. He also could have had a bad night sleep or something like that. This clearly wasn't an ongoing problem as he was promoted recently. Something does not add up!

  6. How bad could Grossman be if he was promoted to an administrator position? And is him sleeping on the job the reason for his suspension? Brown has been doing that since he took office!

  7. I had heard he is an exemplary employee who has had a problem staying awake. Rather than suspending him, he should have been directed to see a doctor.

  8. Why should he complain, if he is having a GOD time while on vacation.

  9. Yes exemplary employees are always caught sleeping on the job.

  10. How would you know that he is an exemplary employee? He was not promoted from within. If there is a medical issue, it should have been addressed when it started and not continue be allowed. Sorry, Bernie, you are wrong on this one. Even if there is a medical issue, it should have been brought under control. I don't know any employer who would tolerate this and neither should the tax payer.

  11. These type of issues are very frequent within the county. The sad part is the county exec, both past and present allow it. Folk on the outside of the county work force have no idea. It's truly a damn shame.

  12. Doesn't the county or the hapless HR department know about the ADA?? If this guy has narcolepsy,a medical condition that qualifies for reasonable accommodation under the ADA, they have no cause to suspend him unless he refused those accommodations. Another expensive lawsuit is in the wings for the Clown administration.

  13. If incompetence and stupidity were disabilities, then the entire Brown administration would qualify under the ADA!

  14. From what I'm reading, if county employees would do their jobs, get off their phones, mind their own business, shut their mouth's and get to work, no one would have to worry about getting "walked out".

  15. Its amazing that Bernie has taken on the cause of what no one other than Andrew Grossman believes Andrew Grossman is an "exemplary" employee. Long term employees were furious when someone there less than a year or two got a $7,000 raise. They were left behind. But leave it to you, Bernie, to take the word of one rather than many and classify him as the greatest thing since sliced bread...ask those who work for him if that is the case. They will tell you he is a stale loaf!

  16. There are always so many sides to a story. Grossmann might suck at his job or not. Maybe he does have medical issues. The HR person is a real winner, any HR person who sends someones ss# and dob to all of human services really should be questioned, but she has stayed on the job since making messes. The county is wrought with issues, it's just fact, but another fact is we have really hard jobs. Everyone from DHS to the prison to gracedale. The majority of us work our buts off. The one thing we don't get is praise and recognition for the hard work we do everyday. So while everyone is busy bashing one another maybe it's time to take a step back and remember what we do and how many people we help. Maybe if we look at things from that perspective trivial nonsense will end, jobs will get done and people will get served.
