London Bridge is NOT Falling Down.
The stiff upper lip was in full play. One fellow actually returned to the pub he was patronizing at the time of the attack to pay his bill and provide a tip.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan told people, “Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days. There’s no reason to be alarmed.”
Donald Trump, of course, used the occasion to engage in fear-mongering by twisting Khan's remarks.
"At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is 'no reason to be alarmed!'"
Of course, Khan is one of those despicable Muslims.
I like this comment from a Londoner who works a few doors away from the terrorist attack.
"It happened, and I can't do anything about that. But what I can do is go into work on Monday as usual. And on Thursday I can go out and vote. And if you're reading this and you're British, please, please, use your vote. These attacks try to make us afraid, so afraid we'll make little cages for ourselves in our own minds. Don't let that happen. Whatever your view on how we should run the country, make sure that those in power can see that people care about what happens next. Because I think that give us our best shot of making a future that is a bit better and a bit fairer for everyone."

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Once again Trump distinguished himself as a total asshat. A horrible attack, killing and injuring many and his first tweet is to attack U.S. courts over taking away our rights? Not that the travel ban would mean anything as this is about homegrown terror. Also the fact that not one terrorist attack has emanated from any of the banned countries. The guy is just a nut. Someone needs to get that twitter away for him. The secret service needs to confiscate his phone in order to protect Trump from Trump.
ReplyDeleteHe plays on fear to try and scare Americans into giving up freedom for security, never a good trade.
12:25..there's no question that the potus is not a trained politician in the use of communication. He told the board that long ago. Truth be told Im Republican who wrote in another R for president. On a side note it's beginning miss obvious that HC has a feed issues before. I physically feel she suffered a brain injury when she smashed into the marble floors a few years back. Back on track to potus, he is quick to speak. In this case he should. He had been blowing his girl for months that radical groups are ready to take action. In the last few months in Europe, home to an idiotic open door policy regarding skipping through countries virtually unquestioned, and kowtowing till one specific culture, had become a king field for terrorists. At the same time potus is calling for a slight increase, over the previous administration, life-giving to allowing immigrants into OT country while pushing out those, mostly criminal types, who have emerged out country illegally.the longer we can keep these killers of of the country the better. We have of own fill of killings and genocide within our current citizenship. There's not too vett new visitors and possible longer staying individuals a little longer.
ReplyDeleteRooster
So this means that terror attacks are "the new normal" and are to be accepted as a fact of life ?
ReplyDeleteWhat do people want, of course no one anywhere can ever keep you 100% safe. However, most people die in th4reis country from our fellow countrymen deciding to kill us than from any terrorist. So, yes we do what we can stay vigilant but realize that if a person is willing to trade their life for others, it is very hard to stop. Be it car, knife, crude bomb and in America firearms. That is the normal of the modern world.
ReplyDeleteAlso could we get an interpretation of 1:48's post?
I have always wondered why, when the police in the UK say that they had the terrorists on their "Radar", why they were not arrested before they began slaughtering innocent people ?
ReplyDelete5:31
ReplyDeleteIt's because the police in Europe are only security monitors. They only notify you if there's a problem.
There's a problem.
But they don't do anything to stop it before hand even when the terrorists are on their watch list.
There's your real problem.
Can we impose a travel ban on trips to Mar A Lago?
ReplyDeleteInteresting how it took So-Called-President 3 days to condem the Portland domestic terrorist that performed his acts of hate claming to be a Patriot. Disgusting.
4:14, Nobody said that.
ReplyDeleteThis has nothing to do with Trump. This is a worldwide menace that is not going away! Currently, it has invaded western Europe, with their misguided approval, and this will be their staging ground for the good old USA, Canada and Mexico. Funding sources, such as Iran, Qatar, Syria, Pakistan and others is the problem. Dry up these benevolent countries and these terrorists will find operating difficult.
ReplyDeleteBut in the interim, we have the ultra liberal 9th Circuit Court watching our backs and protecting other foreign nationals; instead of Americans. Who is the real enemy?
Mr. Allen, British police are widely considered the finest in the world.
ReplyDeleteThese attacks have been going on for years on American soil yet are covered over a actcidental by the left and right party favors. The acts are acts of hell on earth and generate not only hate but the terror that is in a your in your face daily act that is not only any religious but a modern social ill enhanced by the left and right. This is all to cover for there party arena agenda's designs designated to have areas become third world country's onto themselfs!
ReplyDelete7:20 I am sure has some what of an idea as to the push and pull samantics and dynamics this team left and right are colluding together in there efforts. The TENTicles or umbrella of this organization have far reaching objectives.
Oh the hypocrisy. Not a peep when your mancrush Stoffa gave the no-bid west easton facility to his buddy Atiyeh.
ReplyDeleteLVL had a fair and balanced report on this over the weekend. Makes good sense that DLR is chosen to provide the same plans as the Kentucky site that Dan Keen has decided will be the best layout.
Of course we could always waste time and money bidding it, when the DLR group already has the plans we need.
Your hatred and bias is out in full form again. This is why you are not regarded as a credible news source by anyone. The locals won't hire you...but maybe CNN? Lies by ommission, daily hatred, lack of sources, bias all day...seems like you would fit in great there as a beat reported since your hatred of Trump has no boundaries either.
What a sad life you live.
It is being reported that the British Police knew who these terrorists were. They knew where they lived. However, they did nothing about them.
ReplyDeleteHow many more people need to die before steps are taken to prevent terrorist attacks?
I wonder if this is the same with the FBI here ?
You're far more likely to be struck by lightning or killed by a native-born American than by a foreign-born terrorist. Why is there so much fear of one but not the other?
ReplyDeleteIt's a religion of peace.
ReplyDelete"This has nothing to do with Trump. This is a worldwide menace that is not going away!"
ReplyDeleteTrump is a worldwide menace who needs to go away. He oafishly (is that a word?) into a British tragedy, twisted the words of London's Muslim Mayor and engaged in what he does best: fear-mongering.
8:48, You posted your typical bile on the wrong story. You should wait until noon before you start drinking.
ReplyDelete"It's a religion of peace.
ReplyDeleteIt is. It is a religion of peace and tolerance. The atrocities committed in the name of God are heinous, but no more so than atrocities committed by Christians throughout our history.
Ibn Arabi, one of Islam's saints, once said, "I believe in the religion of Love, whatever direction its caravans may take, for Love is my religion and my faith.”
In this case, I agree Trump was wrong.
ReplyDeleteTrump was wrong making a difference between Radical Islam and just plain old Islam.
4:37, 1:48 is me, Rooster, not 1:58. That text is the end result of walking up after taking a combination of both medicine and cough syrup to fight a cold. I guess it's my confefe. That was a jumbled mess.
ReplyDeleteLet's try again. Point one, those individuals who are still sick on HRC,need to realize she is much like Trump. She lives for the headlines and is a panderer. She's flip flopped her agree/disagree statements on so many subjects depending on her audience. Second, she certainly suffered a brain injury when she fell years ago. Some of the associated tics and twitches that follow an injury like that seem to becoming more prevalent.
3. The tweets from the president are not the issue, terrorist attacks by radicalized groups is.
Why Europe for these attacks of late. The EUs open country policies are, in my opinion, the biggest issue right now, asking with the kowtowing to certain political and religious interests. PM May, made the correct, and bold by today's standards, decision to quickly identify the latest attacks in London, as terrorists. Our previous administration probably would have taken months to say, he's out was a terror attack. Perhaps he suffered from analysis paralysis, or maybe there are deeper rooted interests. We'll never know. Either way, this how now become a time of action for world leaders to end, or at least suppress this nonsense. Maybe POTUS's immigration policy, which really isn't that much different then the previous administrative policies well hello. Whatever, something needs to be done.
Clearly, these terrorist attacks were directly caused by Trump's withdrawal from the Paris accords.
ReplyDeleteNo one cares more about the environment than the male lovers of Allah who only wish to return the planett to a pristine state of no infidels by eliminating them from the face of the Earth ?
The first step Trump needs to do is to shut down all American mosques on RICO charges. I wonder how many arms caches would be found in them by the police ?
ReplyDeleteMy guess is none, but I'll bet you have quite an arsenal.
ReplyDelete"All that is left
ReplyDeleteto us by tradition
is mere words.
It is up to us
to find out what they mean."
Ibn Arabi (Islamic extremist who sounds very much like Francis, Paul and other Christian saints).
We all know that Climate Change is a greater danger to the planet than terrorism is.
ReplyDeleteThe fact is, that if there were zero Muslim immigrants into the United States and Europe over the last few decades, there would not be these attacks today.
ReplyDeleteWhat needs to be done to combat these monsters is to stop letting people in, be heavy handed revoking citizenship for anyone even loosely sympathizing with the extremists. Make the West horribly hostile towards anyone even slightly sympathetic to the jihadists.
"Do not praise your own faith exclusively so that you disbelieve all the rest. If you do this, you will miss much good. Nay, you will miss the whole truth of the matter. God, the Omniscient and the Omnipresent, cannot be confined to any one creed, for He says in the Quran, whosesoever ye turn, there is the face of Allah. Everybody praises what he knows. His God is his own creature, and in praising it, he praises himself. Which he would not do if he were just, for his dislike is based on ignorance." – Ibn Arabi
ReplyDeleteBernie, since the KKK, and alt-right hate kills more Americans than any foreigner, why is there such an irrational fear and hated? Are people today willing to sacrifice their constitutional rights to become some sort of militarized police state.. You don't need to change the flag to lose what it stands for.
ReplyDeleteActually 2:01, the KKK was a Democratic organization in the south. Rewriting history is something the Democrats do a great deal
ReplyDeleteIt makes no difference that KKK was originally a creation of the Democratic south. No one is re-writing history. It was a hate group then and is a hate group now.
ReplyDeleteAnd everyone knows DJT is just like Hitler...they both used the word "laugh".
ReplyDeletehttps://www.thenation.com/article/trump-echoed-hitler-speech-withdrawing-paris-climate-accord/
TDS at its finest.
How dumb have the alt-right become. No question the KKK was compromised of Democrats in the 1800'a and right up through the 1960's. Who said anything different? Sounds like a Trump reality disconnect that is so popular today.
ReplyDeleteI would like to add, the KKK also claimed to be a white Christian organization as well. Additionally , if you were to check the Party registration of most Klan members today, I think you would find mostly Republicans. However, that is neither here nor there. The point is it is a hate group that picked up were the old traitorous confederacy left off and is responsible for far more murder than any other homegrown hate group in America. That is history, no re-write required.
5:05pm
ReplyDeleteThere are facts, and then there are alternative facts. Have a nice covfefe!
-DJT
lol. I guess you have to be a follower of Covfefe to understand their ravings.
ReplyDeleteFight against extremist covfefe.
Bernie makes himself look like a chump via the crapola he incessantly churns out.
ReplyDeletePoor ole' England. Hell bent on getting herself killed in the name of political correctness. Oh well, so be it, then. The Irish Republican Army will shed no crocodile tears.
ReplyDeleteHey O'Hare. You love to brag about your great sense of humor but where is it? There were some really funny posts on here about MM's blog poking fun at your self-described movie. You can't have a sense of humor if they bothered you. You have as thin a skin as some of your idols.
ReplyDeleteI removed a number of your anti-Semitic comments, which are far from funny.
ReplyDeleteWell Bernie, in our attempt to be all inclusive to multiculturalism and other memes of liberal globalization, the ravening wolves of Islam are in our midst. Yes,Donald Trump is an asshole. However he is our legally elected Mr. President Asshole. And yes, London Mayor Sadiq Khan speaks in the politically correct language of the times but his ties to the anti-Western Muslims in the U.K. are well documented. My intuition tells me not to travel to the U.K. and Europe anytime soon.
ReplyDelete"London Mayor Sadiq Khan speaks in the politically correct language of the times"
ReplyDeleteyup the Mayor took mr trump to task for his anti-Muslim views about a year ago.
So mr trump decided to stand on the bodies of dead Brits to take a jab at the Mayor of London.
real classy action by donnie.
a real President would have offered help and sympathy to the British while leaving personal grudges out of the equation.
it is a shame that mr trump is more worried about mr trump then an act of terror
seems donnie trump jr wants to double down on the Mayor of London.
ReplyDelete"“Rather than the mayor of London attacking maybe he should do something about it,” Donald Trump Jr. said in an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “Maybe he should do something to fix the problem rather than just sit there and pretend there isn't one. I think that's an important message.”
so let us see what the Mayor said
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/jun/04/trump-berates-london-mayor-sadiq-khan-terror-attacks
"In his statement on Saturday night, issued as the London Bridge attack unfolded, Khan said: “Metropolitan police are responding to the horrific terrorist attack at London Bridge and Borough Market.” He added: “My thoughts are with everyone affected, and I’d like to thank the brave men and women of our emergency services who were first on the scene and will be working throughout the night.
“This was a deliberate and cowardly attack on innocent Londoners and visitors to our city enjoying their Saturday night,” he said. “I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. There is no justification whatsoever for such barbaric acts.”
"In the television interview on Sunday morning, Khan said the UK general election, scheduled for Thursday, should go ahead as planned. He added: “There aren’t words to describe the grief and anger that our city will be facing today. I’m appalled and furious that these cowardly terrorists would deliberately target innocent Londoners.
“There can be no justification for the acts of these terrorists and I am quite clear that we will never let them win.
“My message to Londoners and visitors to our great city is to be calm and vigilant today. You will see an increased police presence today, including armed officers and uniformed officers. There is no reason to be alarmed by this."
yep even trumpies kid is an idiot
How is that Islamic Terrorist problem at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris going today???
ReplyDeleteRemember now, it's the so-called "religion of peace" so be sure and be "tolerant".
Is that like the KKK?
ReplyDelete7:52, Let's look at the absurdity of your logic. You take the actions of one person, who might bean Islamic extremist, and from there infer that it necessarily follows that ALL Muslims must therefore be terrible people. But this is illogical. It is a syllogism t conclude that because something is true of one member of a group that it necessarily follows that it is true of all members of that group. In this instance I could observe that this terrorist had short hair and conclude that therefore all people with short hair are terrorists.
