Bill Leiner |
A psychiatric nurse, Leiner suddenly left the area and resigned his Lehigh County Commissioner seat in 2010. A year later, he was back. Here's what he's telling people.
1. The website and social media sites are expected to be up during the next two to three weeks. He should talk to John Callahan about the idiocy of using a "strategist" from inside the beltway. Ask him how that worked out. He should talk to Callahan and Sam Bennett both about the insanity of taking on Charlie Dent. He is the most formidable campaigner I've ever seen and has the Rasputin of political consultants with Shawn Millan by his side. The only hope Leiner has is that Dent decides to take on Bob Casey. And even with Dent running for something else
2. We have a strategist joining us from Washington DC.
3. We have an adviser on board from DC to assist with planning.
4. Responses to recent emails explaining our issues yielded positive responses.
5. I talked to numerous voters during this past week explaining my thoughts and platform. I received very positive responses.
Our next step includes you as we work to build our campaign infrastructure. We are seeking people to join our team in a variety of capacities. If you want to join us please email or call me.
As a psychiatric nurse, Bill should commit himself.
You bemoan the lack of political races. Here is a man running against one of your mancrushes and you claim he should commit himself? You are insane.
ReplyDeleteThe young man is no dummy. I worked with him at the Bethlehem Steel and I always underestimated the guy. If he were running in a district that wasn't so heavily Republican I would give him a slim shot. He'll have a mountain to climb and in this race, he is a mountain climber with no legs.
ReplyDeleteHe has no prayer in the newly configured 15th. And if he runs against Dent, I pity him.
ReplyDeleteDent/Millan can be beat! They are becoming passe! Establishment legislators are out! But, I want to see Dent primaried!
ReplyDeleteThere was a time Fred Rooney was unbeatable, then there was a time Don Ritter was unbeatable. Then they were both beaten.
ReplyDeleteIf Dent was not your ahole buddy, you would applaud people having a choice in an election. You are coming off as a hypocrite.
Dent can't win a statewide nomination. No way. No how. He'd have a shot in the general. But he'll never get a statewide nomination from Republicans.
ReplyDeleteThe "moderate" Dent, just on principles, is opened for a challenge. The prototype "establishment" candidate illustrates the hypocrisy of a 20-year candidate. Turn your back and lets navigate the seas is the key to political survival and Dent has a lot of practice at this. Hopefully, the republican faithful will see through this and run a "true conservative" in the primary.
ReplyDeleteHokie Joe says;
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans will run "NO ONE" against Dent. If they start eating their own kind by giving them Primary opposition, they will "IMPLODE" as a party. Bernie is right on this call. It's a no brainer. Liener worked at the Bedlam Steel, was active in their Union, helped destroy a National Institution by being greedy, and that is small change as to what the Republicans will do to him. (dirty politics will prevail) This is an easy call. Liener would be better off if he would run for County Executive. At least there he stands a chance.
"If Dent was not your ahole buddy, you would applaud people having a choice in an election. You are coming off as a hypocrite."
ReplyDeleteOf course there should be a choice. That is not the point. The point is that Dent is and has always been a formidable opponent. He not only would beat Leiner, but would destroy him in the process. If he has inside intel that Dent is Dent not running, I still think he has a rough time because the district is far more Republican than it was before redistricting. I'd call this race a fool's errand. As for those wishful thinkers who think Dent is done, he is without question the most popular politician in the Lehigh Valley and probably the state. He takes nothing for granted and works his ass off.
I can't stand Dent. But I'll give him credit for not exploiting his position for personal gain, as most Congressional creeps do. His net worth has remained relatively flat during his years in Congress. Compare this to a slimeball like Matt Cartwright, who's really cashed in during his Congressional tenure - especially in the last four years.
ReplyDeleteWill the L.V. Democrats give this Guy money ?
ReplyDeleteLove how 10:24 uses mild disdain of Dent to really bash Democrat Cartwright. Nice bait and switch bagger tactic. Fake News!
ReplyDeleteAfter the shitshow that is Trump and Congress, Casey wins in a walk.
ReplyDelete3:16 has been hit in the face with too many teabags. Cartwright was worth $3 M in 2011 and is worth $7+M now. Charlie Dent is worth about the same after all these years. I don't like either of them. But fair is fair. Dent is on the up and up. Cartwright is their to squeeze every dollar he can from his elected position. Cartwright thanks you for carrying his bag.

ReplyDeleteCartwright is an attorney still practicing, his household income is higher. Dent is a TV salesman. Please stop the Fox Faux nose and go do a falafel sex call ala Bill Riley on a co-worker.
ReplyDeleteYou're projecting, Rachel Maddow. I love reading lefties defending rotten politicians. Again, Matt thanks you for carrying his bag. Maybe one day he'll let you clean his pool.
ReplyDeleteThe teabaggers can't help themselves. They pretend to be disaffected Democrats or Republicans who arte not fond of another republican, when their real point is to use that tactic as a smokescreen to slam a Democrat like Cartwright.
ReplyDeleteYou baggers are just to predictable. Maybe the Trump millionaires will make up for losing privacy rights and healthcare as well as no new jobs.
Bernie O'Hare you are part of the problem as one more white old reactionary obstructionist male who only wants to hang on to the way things "were." The reality is you should think about personal attacks before advising others not to do so -- times are changing. I wish Leiner the best and will try to help him. Time to really drain the swamp, not elect it.
