A Newcomer in Easton Politics

Her husband was at the elections office yesterday, getting forms. Because of his poor English, it was hard to understand him at first, but I eventually understood he was there for his wife. Her name is Taiba Sultana and she works for the Phillipsburg School District. She is the previous owner of Lady Bug restaurant. She is running for Easton City Council and is expected to file today.

What is she running? "We need new people," said her husband. "New people." He described himself and his wife as Bernie Sanders Democrats.

  1. Good luck to her. She's right, it's great to have new people, ideas, and perspectives. That is what real democracy is all about. I would point out that Bernie is an Independent, not a Democrat.

  2. I've been a registered Democrat since the Johnson administration.
I wish her the very best of luck.
After what I have witnessed in the last year I'm finally DONE!
The party is a crime syndicate.
    DONE!!!

  4. I salute her for jumping into the game. Regardless of one's political leanings, the best part of democracy is having choices. That said, I certainly hope she loses because Easton's tax burden is crushing already and all that Bernie Sanders free shit is not free. The productive end up paying for it.

  5. Good for her! Anonymous, I respectfully suggest that being a left-leaning Democrat is not "free stuff" - but (ideally) justice, fairness, and the working folk (US). Yes, I know the democrats are imperfect - very much so. But someone has to move the needle - looks like here is one person willing to try.

  8. The democrats can not win anything with their open border sanctuary city mentality. The hordes are at our gates and our nation is besieged by others. Time to protect our own from the invaders. America first.

  9. Only life-long residents of Easton can fully understand the needs of our city, regardless of party affiliation.New "Ideas" from elsewhere are not needed, if it was so good, he/she would not have left for a better life. "Out-Siders" need not apply for these positions.

  10. If democrats are ever going to get anything done they absolutely must change their party affiliation to republican...

...and remember in America left is right, and right is wrong... learn how to play the game.

"The party is a crime syndicate."

So is every single, Hamlet, Village, Township, County, State, and Federal governing body in the country.

The fact that we had a Johnson Administration should have been your first clue. What a beautiful bit of "craftsmanship" that was.
