Fed Ed Using Convicted State Treasurer's Email Address

Rob McCord, Pennsylvania's former state treasurer and erstwhile gubernatorial candidate, saw his career cut short when he pleaded guilty to two counts of  extortion in 2015. But before that, he and Allentown Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski  toured the Allentown Farmers' Market together while State Rep.Mike "Darth Voter" Schlossberg held their food bags. They were quite chummy, and even shared campaign consultant Miked Fleck. Did you know that Fed Ed is also sharing email addresses with this crook?

Yesterday morning, while supposedly working for the taxpayers, Fed Ed was trying to drum up money for his lawyers Mayoral campaign. He sent out a mass email entitled, "Let's continue the momentum." The way you can do that is to "DONATE NOW." After all, Fed Ed has "a passion for Allentown."

In addition to soliciting money during regular business hours, and most likely right from the Mayor's office, I am amazed by his email header:

From: "Ed Pawlowski"
Subject: Let's Continue the Momentum
Date: January 31, 2017 at 9:08:26 EST
To: "[Redacted]"
Reply-To: info@robmccord.com

Note that his "Reply To" column indicates that replies should be sent to info@robmccord.com . That's the email address that McCord used. The domain itself was first established in 2008.

So the man running for Allentown Mayor, who himself is under investigation for political corruption, is using an email associated with a pol who has pleaded guilty to extortion.

By the way, his year-end campaign finance report was due yesterday.I'd love to tell you how much he spent on lawyers. But for some reason, the City webpage is down as I write this story.

  1. The Mayor has not been charged with even one crime. he has made more progress in
Allentown than the last five mayors put together. The Mayor is still the best choice amongst the candidates to be Mayor. He is head and shoulders above Scam Bennett. By the way, why was she speaking at the Allentown protest the other night, who gave her a microphone and what is her position? She is the CEO of her house. Hardly a position worth her grabbing attention at a protest march.

  2. Ed is a mess but I would vote for him over Bennett. Love the Scam Bennett moniker. That really sums her up.

  6. Given those who are running, I'd vote for Ed also. We all know he's a crook, but he's the best of the lot the Democrats have to offer. Besides, given his acrimonious relationship with City Council, he's pretty impotent in what he can do anyway.

Sam Bennett is a joke and a multiple election loser.

I hope that the Mayor hasn't said too much on the phone to Lisko. Someone might have been listening:

  22. Bernie,
When I redd your blog this morning, all I had thought about was draining the swamp? The swamp is too good for the local in this case because Shreik was far to good a over!
This case in point would be more like drain the cesspool as there are far to many biohazardous floaters in the triboro'swamp!
Just thanx for the humor in this sad sad situation Allentown as a whole has been compromised because of it!

  25. Julien @11:47,

You're right about that. He is also, during business hours, banning anyone who dares to ask questions about his campaign finance reporting (or lack of it) from the official Allentown Facebook page "Allentown: City Without Limits"

That's a small thing within the greater scheme of things I suppose, but annoying nonetheless. My family has been in and immediately around Allentown since before the Revolution. The idea that some little crook from Chicago can waltz in and decide to purge someone like me from the (electronic) town square is a bit disturbing.

Maybe taxpayers need to demand that we keep Chicago Eddy's fingers off the keyboard...

  28. My comment is about Ed's Campaign so far. He obviously doesn't have any experienced professionals helping him. Take a careful look at that 2 minute video with him and his Lady walking around Center City Allentown pointing at things. twenty seconds in, they are walking past Tony Luke's. That place barely lasted six months before packing it up and blowing town. Then there is the PP&L Arena ribbon cutting with former police chief Fitzgerald and Indictee Strathearn in the shot. Not to mention the shots of Koval scattered here and there thru out. No professional campaign person would have used footage with those folks in it to promote the Mayor. It is probably all stock stuff he saved and that was made up originally by Fleckster. It would not surprise me to learn that Lady Paw or one of his kids whipped it up on the old home computer using a photo app. Maybe even Ed himself. Some of the bits and pieces separately are well done, but cumulatively, it is a jumbled mess. There are a lot of unforced flaws in it, if you pay attention watching.

  29. Mayor Pawlowski has delivered results for Allentown. It is a classier city. He is the only qualified person to continue to be Mayor. Ed has a proven record of results. Ed has not been charged with any crimes despite this blog claiming as such for years.

  35. Ed will be mayor again whether you like it or not. He is running the most effective campaign he has ever run and he is driving the media mad because he isn't talking to them. He is talking to the people like he always has and now leveraging social media and good old fashion public engagement. He is everywhere and even the "bad press" is good for him because the McCall has been bashing him for years and he is still going. He will raise the money he said he will raise and if the FBI investigation goes away city council will look like a bunch of idiots by playing politics with him.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Using Rob McCord's old email and stealing his donor list is not what I call effective. Nor are videos that show Strathearn and Mary Ellen Koval.

    1. He didn't use his email. It was a reply "to" not "from". How do you know it was his list and that it was stolen. If you go to the website the subscription and payment vendor is NGP- they would never allow a list to be stolen. And go to all the other candidates pages and look at the complete lack of engagement. No comments, likes, shares. Go to eds page and you have thousands of comments, questions being asked, etc. I have no skin in the game b/c I don't live in the city and can't vote for him and I'm not a contributor to his campaign but I don't see another qualified candidate. O'Connell played politics for all to see at the expense of the progress of the city. He has no chance and no other candidate does anything or has raised enough money to run a legit campaign. Radio ads won't cut it. BTW- most of the people in allentown don't know or care who Koval or Strathearn are.

  37. Since you are anonymous, I have zero reason to believe your assertion that you have no skin in the game. What the "Reply to: info@robmccord.com" means is that Fed Ed managed to sign himself into an email account set up for statewide campaigns and thus has access to McCord's donors. In fact, one of those McCord supporters told me he unsubscribed when he saw Fed Ed's name. He is using NGP Van, and very likely without permission from the party. If you don't live in the city, as you claim, then how do you know whether people will be angry to see him with Strathearn or Koval? I happen to think they will be and his use of them as props is something his opponents will jump on. He is a crook. The other candidates have flaws, as do we all. But they are decent people and are not crooks. Fed Ed is. I doubt that the Feds will allow him to get to the primary.
