Move Back To Jersey
While there, one arrogant lady walked in and asked for two copies of the ballot in Forks Township.
"They always mailed this to us in New Jersey," she complained. "Why don't you mail it to us here?"
Elections officials said nothing, but I couldn't help myself. "Because the expense of mailing ballots would drive your taxes up, which is why you left Jersey," I snapped.
"Our taxes here are now as high as they were in New Jersey," she continued.
"Then you should move back."
I have nothing against Jersey transplants. But just because they piss away money there is no reason to do it here.
This is why I'd never last as a public employee.

Nice!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Bernie, This is the way they 5000 ld SUV's here too, arrogant pretentious .
ReplyDeleteThey think nothing of higher taxes because creatures eventually adapt to their swamp.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bernie. As a public servant, I would love to tell them to go back. They wrecked it there now they want the same here. Go back to where you came from!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen the guy with the accent cut me off at the drive thru and told me welcome to Pennsylvania I knew it was over. 35 years in this valley it's time to go.
ReplyDeleteDo you finally understand now Bernie ?
ReplyDeleteProperty taxes are pretty much at NJ rates in Forks Township. The owners of the typical $325,000 colonial are paying $8,500-$9,000 per year now. And yes, I remember when I lived in NJ, we got the sample ballots in the mail every year, one for each registered voter in the household. This was in the pre-internet days though.

ReplyDeleteOkay Bernie....we're going to have the Mayor of Nazareth see how you go to work and we're going to have a bridge survey done (probably on the shoeneck Creek) which will tie up traffice for hours. Maybe we'll do the survey by the railroad tracks at the Nazareth Diner and over at the Italian Restaurant and we won't let you out of Nazareth. Better yet, maybe we won't let you in. It worked for Christie.
Bernie, Does ARTICLE IV Section 401 of the Pennsylvania Election Code pertain to you as "Judge of Election". I'm not a lawyer. Just curious.
ReplyDeleteoops. the law does state that the Judge of Election has to be a resident of the district????
ReplyDeleteIf a resident in Hanover wanted to serve, I'd be sent somewhere else. They use nonresidents in districts where there are none. You are more than welcome to register any complaint with the elections office.
ReplyDeleteIf that 'public employee' was a 'private employee' he/she would be out on her ass. Only a protected public leech can treat customers like that. Imagine if that elections official had said to someone 'go back to Puerto Rico or Syria?
ReplyDeleteNo public official told anyone to go back to Jersey. I did. There is NO analogy between refugees from terrorism (Syria) OR fellow Americans looking to improve their economic status (Puerto Rico OR NEW JERSEY). My issue is with self-important assholes from anywhere who think the world owes them everything yet are the biggest complainers when told they have to pay for it. If the shoe fits ... If that lady was talking about Ohio or Alabama or anywhere else, I'd tell her to move back.
ReplyDeleteWell, she should be REAL happy that her gasoline taxes at the pump in NJ are going up a whopping 23 cents per gallon. But, she voted for the geniuses who raised those taxes.
ReplyDeleteHowe can you a judge of election be considered fair and impartial in that capacity when you are openly discriminating and offending residents of the county based on their state of origin.

ReplyDeleteAnon 1'51 - Remember the key word here is 'arrogant' . Bernie would stick up public services employee or a legitimate elector in a heartbeat if they were attacked unjustifiably because they can't really defend themselves from intimidating people .As Judge of Elections he would have to at times stand his ground on rules from an improper voting situation and if he rolls over -then he's worthless in this position either way. I have seen bullies at the poles myself, blocking doors and parking cars in places that get in the way on the outside of poles.See what I mean -'Feel free to file a complaint'
