Other Norco Court Administrator Possibilities

One thing I love about Northampton County is that it is a cesspool of rumors. Grab your snorkels, hold your nose and dive in!

Yesterday, I told you that State Senator Lisa Boscola is interested in the Court Administrator position that recently opened up when Jill Cicero retired. The logical successor is Jermaine Greene, who has done a great job as Jill's backup. But several names besides Boscola have been mentioned in what I would classify as the rumor category.

* Senior Judge Leonard Zito. - There are nine judges in Northampton County, but Judge Zito does the work of ten of them, even after achieving senior judge status. He can only keep Senior judge status for five years. As court administrator, he could plow the legal fields for another several hundred years and would undoubtedly prove to be a great asset. He could also go back to private practice and make a lot more money, something he was already doing before he became a judge. Or he may want to spend more time being a grandfather.

* Custody Master Lisa Tresslar. - The trend these days is that lawyers should be court administrators. Custody Master Lisa Tresslar does the work of three part-time custody masters who at one time heard custody cases. Now she hears them all, and through hard work and a lot of listening, has managed to resolve most disputes. Like Judge Zito and Jermaine, she would be perfect. In truth, Tresslar should be sitting on the bench herself. She graduated from Harvard University as well as its law school, where she served as Executive Editor of its prestigious Law Review. One of the students she edited is now United States Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

  2. I certainly owe you no explanation, but it's not poofed. I am delaying publication until tomorrow. It should have waited until then.

  3. I just don't think Boscola will want to play second fiddle to the judges, though it's definitely in her financial best interests. Same reason I'd rule out Zito even though it's in his interests too.

From what little I know about the others, Tresslar is my leading candidate.

  10. Lisa should be a judge but she'll never run. I'd like to see her in this position.

  11. "Harvey" is a pseudonym used alternatively by Tricia Mezzacappa and the Blog Mentor, both of whom hate Stoffa for no other reason than that he is my friend. Both are too cowardly to sign their names. Mezzacappa was sued successfully for defamation, and the Blog Mentor is being sued for defamation, and appears to be losing.

John Stoffa is a good man, and I am proud to call him a friend. He is currently suffering from Parkinson's, which has recently robbed him of the ability to drive. But he does not complain and keeps doing what he can do.

His two critics are the first to scream when they perceive a slight, but have abbsolutely no empathy for others.

  12. We all can see who is vindictive. And a coward who just demonstrated the truth of my observation. Thanks.

  14. Judge Zito is a tireless workhorse and is worth every nickel he is paid. An ideal choice!

He sets the example and leads-

  15. Zito should never have been aloud to sit on the bench for these last 5 years. We don't need him around any longer

  16. Didn't like your sentence, Jason?

We are lucky to have had Judge Zito, Lisa Tresslar, Jill Cicero and Jermaine Greene.

  17. Any of the above named with the exception of the current assistant administrator. Not qualified and never available. Zito, Boscola, Tressler in that order. Hope it is decided soon.
