Hi! Ellen (Pongracz) Jamieson Sarna, here.Have just come across a clipping from 1957(announcing my cousin's birth) lists our grandparents as "Joseph and Ann (Awnie) Pongracz. Mrs. Pongracz is the 3rd Ward Committee woman and..." (This is what I need explained) "Chief Deputy Coroner for Northampton County. " What the heck? Did they need someone to fill out the ticket? Anyone who was around in 1957 please take notice

Any word why David Tidd decided to resign, after all?

I am a Vietnam Veteran. I was lucky to make it home. Capt. Kahn did not. I respect his family for their sacrifice, but I don't respect them for turning their son's death into a political forum! Don't vote for Trump because my son was killed in the service of our country? That's ridiculous! Trump had nothing to do with their son's death. He wants to strengthen our military so they can fight these radicals. Hillary and Obama were in office when their son was killed. Why not be mad at them?

IMHO this blog ought to stick to local news and issues, and leave the sodden dreck regarding the national election campaign to less worthy venues.

BERNIE SANDERS BETRAYED & BETRAYS
It's very sad how Sanders ended his progressive career. Clearly he willingly became the fool of the establishment when he agreed to meet with Obama. He reneged on his promise to supporters to fight right to the convention. As Trump rightly said, Bernie just gave up.
The worst thing he did was throw all his delegates to Hillary at the convention, betraying and insulting all his courageous supporters, not only erasing their vote, but giving them to the candidate they voted against, causing such incorrect and misleading headlines to spring forth, such as the Morning Call's “Unanimous Choice”. Hundreds of Bernie delegates rightly walked out after Bernie nullified them.
If Bernie had remained true to his supporters and cause, he could now run an independent campaign for the presidency and could possibly win. He'd have every reason and justification to do so, due to the DNC betrayal and undermining of Bernie's Democratic effort, obviously with the blessing of Hillary. Along with his large Democrat supporters, there is a massive number of independents who had no opportunity to cast their vote. But alas, Bernie has broken faith with his ranks and everyone loses.

Is Senior District Justice Grigg still practicing? Can find an answer on that anywhere.

This blog is reading more like a division of CNN or a sidebar to MSNBC. Your anti-Trump is almost in full bloom now... Granted, he sucks; but not as much as or as bad as Hillbillary... Vote for NONE of Above or stay home cause one man's vote won't count in the new ClintoNation.
Reply: - The difference is I will happily agree I am anti-Trump. His own behavior left me no choice. I do not support Hillary. Also, no one tells me what topics to cover. Those are my decisions.

Someone needs to tell Bobby Gunther Walsh to put his Iphone on silent while broadcasting. We don't need to hear it make noise every other minute when he gets an email or text.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
"Hillary and Obama were in office when their son was killed. Why not be mad at them?"
ReplyDeleteClinton was one of the majority of Republican and Democratic lawmakers that voted for the resolution to allow George W. Bush to go to war with Iraq as a last resort. I doubt most of them thought it would be his first resort. They were all snookered by the Cheney gang. Obama did not vote for the resolution to go to war, so you are disingenuous at best implicating him in 2004.
As for the parents of the dead soldier, as Gold Star parents they have the right to champion the their son sacrificed his life for any way they wish. If you truly are a war veteran you would understand this. I must assume you have the same disrespect for the mother of the slain individual from Benghazi. I don[t agree with her reasoning but will not disrespect her or her right to say what she wants in any forum she wishes. As a vet that's how I roll. She used that death at the Republican convention for political reasons, using your own logic.
Stop attacking parents and ascribing political motives to their sacrifices. The lack of respect for these people is disgusting and is the main reason I seriously doubt the sincerity of you being a veteran of anything but tea party Trump politics.
I much prefer listening to Bobby Gubber Walsh's phone than his inane comments on the radio. The guy is a maroon.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more. He is just a Rush Limbough wanna be.
DeleteIn the GOPe Rubio was the darling choice. The voters said "No". WE get to choose the candidate. We chose Trump.
ReplyDeleteIn the DNCe Hillary was the darling choice. The voters don't get a say. They are all just led around by their nose rings.
Nice. That's NOT Democracy you lemmings.

ReplyDeleteIt is becoming very interesting watching Hillary Clinton, she has not held a press conference for over 240 days, I believe the last one was Dec. 4, 2015. We know that she had a brain injury several years back, they say from a fall, but it could have been a stroke, I saw her say the other day that she was going to raise taxes on the middle class taxpayers, and just kept going, never skipped a beat or corrected. I don't believe this is her policy proposal. In every interview, she boldface lies about previous statements. I am beginning to wonder if it is not as much a moral question as a real mental health question. I would bet she will never hold a press conference before the election.
ReplyDeleteWhy Dent publically announced that he was not voting for a president in this year's election says a lot about his ego and his commitment to encourage young voters. He could have kept quiet and simply not voted but to brag about it. Apparently Eric Bolling on Fox criticize Dent for his actions.
ReplyDeleteBernie
ReplyDeleteEver find out if Gerlach did keep that grant money?
Please be more clear.
ReplyDelete"Why Dent publically announced "
ReplyDeleteIt's "publicly." He said he is not voting for Trump or Hillary. He did not say he is not voting. Refusing to vote for a lousy candidate is a very valid choice. As for young people, they have no enthusiasm for either nominee. They are shitty choices. Bolling asked a question, and the second Charlie would start to answer, he interrupted. He did not want to listen to what Dent had to say, and neither do you, unfortunately.
"It is becoming very interesting watching Hillary Clinton, she has not held a press conference for over 240 days, I believe the last one was Dec. 4, 2015. We know that she had a brain injury several year" ....
ReplyDeleteYou were doing fine until you attempted to insinuate she is having no press conference bc she is addled. I find it amazing you would make this suggestion now, but not suggest it as an explanation for her lies.
The fact of the matter is that Clinton is less accessible than Trump and is much more insular person than he. It's almost Nixonian. She should meet with the press regularly. Her failure to do so does not mean she is brain damaged, as you suggest, but it sure means she lacks transparency. I don't know how anyone can vote for a person who hides.
Both candidates had Gold Star parent speak. One candidate was respectful another candidate was reckles andnfelt it was priority to defame them. One candidate honors POWs and feels theybare heros while another did not think they were winners and onlyikes those that do not get caught. One candidate has the experience and temperment to President.
ReplyDeleteVote Trump
ReplyDeleteNever
DeleteEvery time I see Eric Bolling trying to speak, I can't help but wonder, who reminds this man to breath?
ReplyDeleteCan someone please identify the candidate who voted to go to war in Iraq?
ReplyDeleteI do suggest that her lying may be a mental problem, it is just a little too pervasive. as for Dent, he may assume he is of such high moral caliber that he cannot lower himself enough to vote for a republican which he finds objectionable. Thank you Mr. Dent, you have now given everyone who has voted for years while holding their nose's for republicans they did not approve of, the green light to just not vote for any of those republicans again.
ReplyDeleteRay Nemeth:
ReplyDeleteThe claim that Hillary was saying she's raise taxes on middle class at an event with Warren Buffet was already debunked two days ago:
http://www.snopes.com/2016/08/04/hillary-clinton-raise-taxes/
If Hillary's lying is pervasive, Trumps is pathological.
ReplyDeleteThe man seems to lie every time he opens his mouth, with the exception of when he makes sexual overtones toward his daughter.
The guys a creep with thin skin. The American people will not allow him to be President.
He has the marginally educated, angry white vote, and handfuls of 'good, decent, conservative' women. Most of whom are only pretending to like him just to keep from being beaten by their spouse. Once in the booth, they will vote Hillary.
No self respecting woman could ever vote for the orange misgynist. He has zero chance with the better educated, and he's doing everything ha can to diss the vets.
He will be a complete laughing stock by the end of the year, he's already there in the rest of the world.
8.58, then you admit her lying is pervasive. do you think it is a moral problem or a mental health issue?
ReplyDeleteWhen is the next article on Nazareth's mayor? Or did his case disappear? Thanks!
ReplyDelete8:58 -
ReplyDeleteHA!
Anyone who can spew as much nonsense as you just did with so few words, should either run for political office, or take a job with NBC. You got talent, boy!
Ray, good to see that you acknowledge that Trump is a pathological liar.
ReplyDeleteAs for Hillary, well, she just lies like most politicians, to cover her tracks. Pervasive lying is a behavioral issue, pathological lying, like Trump does constantly, is related to profound mental disorders. He shows many traits of narcissistic personality disorder as well as sociopathy.
He's met Putin. Well, not really. The NFL sent him a letter. Too bad they don't remember that. So much more, he can't even begin to keep track of them.
Then we have the very, very creepy sexual obsession with his daughter, which, disgustingly enough, his supporters not only don't recognize as being sick, they like it, as if he were channeling their own deepest desires. No wonder incest is so pervasive in the Bible Belt.
My prediction is accurate. He has the angry white man vote, looking for others to blame all their personal failings on, but no self respecting woman could EVER vote for him, and he won't see many votes from the educated either.
So, the question is, are their enough trailer dwelling KKK wannabes for him to make a showing? Sadly, thanks to the FOX 24/7 fear and paranoia brainwashing agenda, there are more now than in the 60's, but decency will prevail.
Trump, and his supporters, will be placed in the pile marked 'irrelevant' come November.
Two liars.
ReplyDeleteYou chose.
9.27 you are as convoluted in your logic as most dems. you are on the right team , talking about angry, hostile and trying to distract from the fact that there is no democratic policy to improve the country.
ReplyDelete9.27, you need to take a valium or two and just relax, sounds like you may be on the verge of another breakdown.
ReplyDeleteThe Nazareth Mayor story is desd. That entire fiasco was a waste of taxpayer monies. Strye will serve a second and maybe more terms as Mayor no matter what is done. If you are real interested in the goings on in Nazareth there are plenty of stories just about the president of Vig fire co. or the Nazareth Ambulance co. But it is doubtful anyone would investigate either of them.
ReplyDeleteWell said 9:27.
ReplyDeleteI am quite fine, Ray, thanks for your concern! Since you are admittedly supporting a man you admit is a pathological liar, could you explain why?
ReplyDeleteDo you agree that John McCain is incompetent and not a hero? Is it okay to encourage Putin to attack us?
Please, enlighten us all as to why you support him, and since you've acknowledged him to be a pathological liar, it has to be more than just Hillary telling lies.
What is it? Psychologists have opined on this, I'd like to hear it from a trump supporter.
10.03, sorry that I am not as well versed on the fine points of mental illness as you, obviously you are well versed on these issues, obviously you really cant find anything to praise Hillary for, just attempt to demine anyone who supports your opposition, I do believe you are either a politician or a government worker, who fears that his cushy position may soon be at risk.
ReplyDeleteRay, you asked me a question and I gave you my honest answer. Why can't you do the same?
ReplyDeleteInstead, you go with personal attacks. This does not speak highly for you, but I'd certainly explains the affinity for Trump, since that's usually all he ever brings to the table.
But, I am curious as to the origins of this unbridled support for a man who is a shameless bigot and misogynist, who mocks POW's and the disabled, and lies way more than Hillary ever has. Can you offer anything beyond 'he's not her'? Any foreign or domestic policies? BTW, saying we are going to make America great again, is NOT a policy. By the way, America is already great, and the best way to make it better would be for all those who feel otherwise, to leave.
For the record, I'm neither a government worker or politician and have been self sufficient long enough to not fear losing anything. I'm betting your'e on Medicare, though.
10:46
ReplyDeleteLet me guess, you're smarter than everyone else, self-sufficient, know everything you need to know from NPR, 30 years old, and think you always will be.
11:11 - you are 1 for 5. Try again when you sober up, and remember, even a broken clock is right twice a day!
ReplyDelete11:19,
ReplyDeleteWell at least you admit you're not smarter than everyone else.
Would be kind of obvious from your bumper sticker:
"Vote Hillary. She's Only an Ordinary Liar."
Ok, so lets see who goes on personal attacks, I believe our foreign policy has been controlled by the same people for 40 years, and that it a disaster, I do not believe in nation building and would be happy to cut off ties to the middle east and let them settle their own affairs, I think our trade policies have resulted in those who make a living importing or having things made overseas prospering while the American middle class income has been declining. I believe if we want to be a real country we need to have borders and let in the people we want and have a number that can be assimilated, not little enclaves of different groups, but Americans. And unlimited immigration lowers the wages of the lower and middle classes. I would like to see, less government regulation, lower taxes, an increase in private sector jobs and a decrease in government jobs. I think that every department, agency, or division of all governments should be reevaluated for efficiency and cut to the minimum, I also believe we need a balanced budget without raising taxes. I think the present policies have punished everyone who has been a responsible by having .25% interest rates. I think it is both a Democratic and Republican problem. I also see Hillary is to expand the Federal government, raise taxes, increase regulation. and I have hope that Trump will be able to address at least some of those policies. You can see the entrenched bureaucrats, politicians and media elites fear that any changes to the status quo will diminish there money. It is as usual , all about the money. there is also the court which will finish the job of fundamentally transforming America into exactly what no one knows, but it will not be America.
ReplyDeleteOh, no!
ReplyDeletePolls showing Hillary's charge to a commanding lead are going back down. This can't be happening. Please stay on script everyone!
Donald is part of the Bilderberg group and has been exposed on infowars.com as a globalist charlatan who has been doing the dirty work of the illuminati
ReplyDelete"When is the next article on Nazareth's mayor? Or did his case disappear? Thanks!"
ReplyDeleteHis case has amazingly been continued until October and possibly December! This is bullshit and I am going to look into it.
Thank you.
DeleteLiar, liar, pantsuits on fire.
ReplyDeleteHillary Clinton lies again about what the FBI Director said about her emails in front of fake journalists during a fake news conference. Everyone applauded her when she lied answering the fake questions.
ReplyDeleteHow this travesty of journalism could go unnoticed and unremarked upon by other reporters covering the event defies belief.
This is how freedom dies – with thunderous applause.
I would like to se Golden unicorns fly out of my ass, spewing rainbows from their mouths. I want to still have only a HS education and have high paying jobs like I got in the 1960's. I want to stay out of the Middle East and let the Chinese and
ReplyDeleteRussians handle it. I want our military to be twice as big. I want the EPA to go away so our water can be like the water in Brazil. I want to not pay any more taxes.
I want Trump!
If Hillary Clinton can't answer questions honestly and truthfully, what can she be thruthful about ?
ReplyDelete“I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves.”
ReplyDeleteI won't weep for Michelle. I weep for the long dead slaves who must be turning in their graves at the INGRATITUDE of these two bozo's who gave their very lives so that their next generation would be free men
Bernie,
ReplyDeletewill you grace the City of Easton with your presence at the LebFest?
Every black in America should get up in the morning and kiss the ground and praise God or Allah that their ancestors were brought to America, where they have had the opportunity to better themselves and their children for 165 years, but instead want to stay on the democratic plantation and beg for more benefits, more black privileges because they feel put upon. Get over it, follow the example of the Indians, Chinese, Vietnamese and even Africans who came here recently and just did what it takes to be successful.
ReplyDeleteCan you feel the racism?
ReplyDelete1:42 Oh yeah.. I don't want the Democrats bringing back the KKK so I can be kept in my place....
ReplyDeleteExplanation to Ms. Pongratz
ReplyDeleteBack in the days of 50's politics, deputy coroner and deputy sheriff badges were given out to just about anyone who asked the Coroner or the Sheriff for a badge. Those were the days of George kametz (Coroner) and Bill Hontz (Sheriff). Ann probably never went on a case as an official Deputy Coroner but on paper it showed her as a Deputy and gave her a little prestige. She was a powerful person as a fifth ward committee person in the City of Bethlehem and this was her reward for backing a winner.
The Sheriff worked the same way. You didn't have arrest powers and the badge showed that you were a friend of the Sheriff and extended to you many courtesy's when stopped by the police. Same went for the Coroner's badges. Back in those days, it was who you know. Ann Pongratz was a mighty fine person. Loved by many and had very few enemies.. Personally I loved the lady.

The whole system is rigged with all of the TV and 99% of the daily printed media in the bag for the hag.

DeleteDemocrats are expert at stealing elections. They have had years to up their game for this November. It also seems that our electronic voting machines are very hackable. But then they were forced on it in the first place by Democrats after Gore got caught trying to steal Florida in 2000.
ReplyDeleteIt's been discovered that anyone with a laptop in a car near a voting location can now secretly alter votes as they are cast and without leaving a trace. Note that voters have no receipt or way to verify that their vote was properly counted. When the media announces Hillary 'wins by a landslide' we will have no way to challenge that claim.
What the hell does "Short Circuiting" mean ?
ReplyDeleteAside from the demeaning way in which you refer to a woman, you are factually incorrect. Much of the print media, to the extent it still exists, is center right or right. The WSJ, arguably the best paper in the world, is conservative. The right wing dominates AM radio. Television is dominated by center right or right wing Fox. Breitbart, which is very popular, is slanted right. To the extent they can, they have been pounding the wardrums for Trump. There is a difference between being bold and brash and telling it like it is, and being a total flaming asshole. Trump is a flaming asshole. Now he is threatening Japan an demeaning them. He is already making allies worry about us, while embracing enemies.
ReplyDelete"It's been discovered that anyone with a laptop in a car near a voting location can now secretly alter votes as they are cast and without leaving a trace. Note that voters have no receipt or way to verify that their vote was properly counted. When the media announces Hillary 'wins by a landslide' we will have no way to challenge that claim."
ReplyDeleteThat is completely untrue in Northampton and many other locations, where the machines are COMPLETELY internal. They cannot be hacked. And in places where that is possible, elections workers would notice the variance between machine votes and the people who sign the register. I just posted a blog about this.
"will you grace the City of Easton with your presence at the LebFest?"
ReplyDeleteMore like darken their doorway! I love LebFest and will be there.
Without a photo-id, how do the people at the polls identify voters to check them off the list of registered voters?
ReplyDeleteIf someone comes in and claims he is a registered voter, we ask his name and his party affiliation, and note it in our record of registered voters. We accept the person's word. We are not allowed to ask for ID except under certain circumstances. If that person is voting for the first time, or for the first time in that precinct, or has changed his or her name, we are required to ask for ID. Many people produce ID even though there is no need.
ReplyDeleteIf a person comes in and falsely claims to be someone else, it is possible that someone in line will notice and say something, or one of the elections workers might notice. But it will go unnoticed unless the person who actually is registered comes into vote. I have never seen that happen.
I know some writers who have tried this to make a point about fraud, but they are always caught. Of course, it could happen. But it would be highly unusual. To rig an election, far too many dishonest people would have to be recruited.
"But then they were forced on it in the first place by Democrats after Gore got caught trying to steal Florida in 2000."
ReplyDeleteGore did not have to steal anything. The Supreme Court stole it for W. By stopping the vote count. Right wing activist Courts?
Gore never led in any of the recounts in Florida.
ReplyDeleteA liar is a liar is a liar, no matter what you call her. How can we expect our children to be truthful to us if the President of the United States is a bonified liar?
ReplyDeleteThey are both liars. Where is your anger for Trump? It would be hard to say who lies more. Incidentally, "bonified" is not a word, unless you're referring to your brain. The ignorance and lack of education expressed in these comments are breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteThe term "bonified" is apt when referring to the first Clinton presidency.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that Trump has lied about letting national secrets be known to our enemies by misusing official government email.
ReplyDeleteBut then, Hillary Clinton said she "Short Circuited", whatever gobbledygook that means in her lying.
As I have already said, they are both liars. If you wish to reject Hillary bc she is a liar, which she certainly is, them you have to reject Trump. If you don't you are being inconsistent.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.politifact.com/personalities/donald-trump/
Show me a politician that doesn't lie, and I'll show you the Pope.
ReplyDeleteThen it should not bother you that Clinton lies. You are inconsistent. You rant and rail against Clinton and her lies, but when Trump's lies are pointed out, you claim it's no big deal. This is completely the opposite of what you said about Clinton. You are being illogical. If you want to make an argument, at least be consistent.
ReplyDeleteLet's make America great again!
ReplyDeleteAfter being tripped up by your own words, you are left to a silly slogan that implies we are losers.
ReplyDeleteThe Trumpasaurus versus the Hildabeast. There is no where to hide.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteRay,
Thank you for your reply. I am also disgusted with our foreign policy, the republican obsession with playing world police department has us enmeshed in two multi trillion $$$$ completely unwinnable wars which have yielded absolutely nothing positive, inspired civil war throughout the region and allowed daesh to rise up as a very formidable force as ISIL. Just as almost every ME expert in the world predicted would happen if we invaded Iraq.
It would be awesome to disengage from the region, but Trump calls Adelson to ask permission to pee, so it's not likely to happen under his watch. Instead, he will come out in support of a single state solution and we will be attacked and in a few more wars because of it, and we will be standing alone, because the rest of the world has walked away from the Israel/Palestine conflict, mostly because of our policies.
Historically, republicans have expanded government WAY more than democrats, with the Gipper single-handedly expanding it more than any other Pres in history, so I'm not sure why you think a Trump presidency is somehow going to yield something different. Same with taxes.
We had a balanced budget, the last Republican trashed it completely, and we can't play global police department and hand out hundreds of billions in Medicare and other entitlements without raising taxes, the numbers don't work. Period.
Isolationism does not work, we are NOT self sustaining, particularly in the energy department, the world is a global economy whether you like it or not. It's interesting that you take that opinion while supporting a man who could be known as the King of Outsourcing. He's taken way more jobs from Americans than he's ever created.
Finally, we get to what is probably the biggest reason you are a Trumper. The SCOTUS. Sorry, but your America no longer fits the narrative of modern humans. All people are created equal, women are not property, the US is not, and never has been a christian nation. Nasty little relics of the 1860's like Scalia have no place in a modern society. Your generation had their chance, and now you need to get out of the way while we try to fix it. The American voters have spoken twice by electing Obama, and they will speak again when they elect Hillary. Even though many do not like her, and that's because we have seen the face of evil, and it is Donald Trump. This is the greatest nation in the world, we do not allow people like him to lead us.
You still have not addressed the question at hand. Why are Hillary's lies so offensive, while Trump's are just peachy? At least Hillary bumps into the truth occasionally, Trump doesn't seem to have ever been introduced to honesty.
I met Putin. Not really. I witnessed NJ Muslims celebrating 9/11. The NFL sent me a letter. I saw a video of Obama handing dollar bills to Iranians. If the man were Pinnocchio, his nose would be in outer space. Why are you okay with this?
You have also failed to address the question of Trump's policies, most likely because he really doesn't have any.
Incidentally, YOU already went for the personal attack when you implied I need valium and have a mental illness.
He is allowed to attack you. He identifies himself and takes responsibility. You don't.
ReplyDeletePerhaps. I was just pointing out that when he said "Ok, so lets see who goes on personal attacks" he already had.
ReplyDeleteYou should either eliminate the anonymous replies or stop whining about them. I and my family know the consequence of using one's real name all too well.
Vote for Trump!
DeleteDrop the bullshit. If you want to attack someone, you have to sign your name. Also, don't try to tell me how to run my blog. I allow anonymous comments, but not for personal attacks at other readers. Follow the rules or be deleted.
ReplyDeleteI didn't personally attack anyone. But, let me be clear on this, if I use a 'name' I am allowed to stoop to personal attacks?
ReplyDeleteI've always felt them to be the last stage of defeat. Unless you're a bully, then it's your whole game.
I'm not looking for trouble, I thought Ray and I had a decent dialogue considering we're so far apart.
For someone who is not looking for trouble, you're doing a good job. If you bother reading my comment policy, I do not allow comments questioning it. Now drop it.
ReplyDeleteDid you choose Donald Trump because you are for him or because you are against Hillary Clinton?
ReplyDeleteDo you believe that Hillary Clinton is mentally fit to be President ?
ReplyDeleteNo!
DeleteThis Hillary Clinton and Obama strategy (he is actually running against both of them, Hillary's Vice-Presidential pick is invisible) of simply attacking Trump and refusing to deal responsibly with the issues will cause more damage than the problems identified by Trump because the Democrats' strategy and tactics is only to win elections, at whatever cost, without dealing with the problems, and worse, to prevent the Republicans from dealing with the problems.
ReplyDeleteThe Democrats, led by Obama and Hillary, have badly polarized our country simply to retain political power.
Remember, FDR banned immigration from Germany, Japan, and Italy during WWII. Also Carter banned immigration from Iran in 1980.
ReplyDeleteWere Franklin Roosevelt and Jimmy Carter racists ?
Do Democrats support Hillary Clinton because she is a Democrat or because of her policies ?
ReplyDeleteNew announcement on milk cartons reads: "The Federal Govt. states there is no significant difference in milk from rBGH treated and untreated cows."
ReplyDeleteNow, who do you think lobbied for this?
Bernie I read your explanation on how voter-identification is done at the polls without a photo-id. But then, why did we change to electronic voting machines? Weren't the manual machines good enough? Or perhaps using push-pin punch cards. Both of these manual methods of voting seem much more secure than electronic tablets. These kinds of things can be hacked or programmed to record votes for one party or another instead of what the voter intended to cast their ballot for. They just seem ripe for "rigging".
ReplyDeleteAs I explained in my story on Friday, the potential to rig an election is miniscule, although it does exist. The primary reason this theory fails is because too many co-conspirators are needed.
ReplyDeletePennsylvania counties decide what machines they want to use among several selections that are certified by the DOS. This is all a result of HAVA (Help America Vote Act),which requires machines, provisional ballots, etc. The feds tied money to forcing that the machines be changed.
The provisional ballot is an excellent idea, but the machines were a terrible idea that helped America NOT vote.
Many Pa.counties, including Northampton, were using lever machines. Those machines have their issues, and it is getting hard to find parts for them, but they are still superior to the machines except in one respect -it is easier to cast a write-in ballot on the machines.
The first machines we used were a nightmare. Those were hackable. At the time we started using them, Russ Shade was chairing a committee to make recommendations on how to improve our elections. I noticed at one of these meetings that the AVS system was not certified. I did some checking and, sure enough, it WAS NEVER CERTIFIED.
Walt Garvin was on the Elections Comm'n at this time and tried to shut me up,probably thinking I am nuts. Well,I am nuts, but the machines were not certified and we went through two elections with invalid machines. Thanks to Russ Shade and John Stoffa, the state picked up on this and suspended AVS. That company was embroiled in several suits and may have declared bankruptcy.
In the meantime, we went back to the levers for one election cycle, and John Stoffa came up with a voting machine that is virtually identical to the lever machine.
Everything on that machine is internal. It cannot be accessed by someone on the outside. But there is no paper receipt to the voter. It is capable of providing one, but was determined to be too expensive.
Ideally, I'd like one that provides a receipt to the voter.
There is a paper trail inside, but that is not seen until the polls close. I would like voters to know that the vote they cast was tallied as they cast it.
Punch card ballots are cheaper, they cost next to nothing for the ballots, and the voters can see the holes they punch next to the people they vote for. The voter also sees their punch holes in the card and puts the card into the ballot box.
ReplyDeleteYes, they take longer for the election workers to tally the votes, but there is no possibility AT ALL of any electronic altering of the votes. This is why any kind of electronic voting is a bad idea, period.
Democrats will manipulate the media and polls. The poll manipulation proves the the left has the same lack of morals as Hillary and the same lack of respect for law as Obama.
ReplyDeleteYou just repeat the same crap over and over, even after you've been thoroughly refuted.
ReplyDelete11:09 -
ReplyDeleteThat Fox News poll that had Hillary up 10points last week must have been manipulated as well. What good are polls for either side if they're inaccurate? ... completely illogical ... if there's rigging of the polls or the process (which is doubtful) both sides are doing it.
In fact that has been the republicans modus operandi all along with voter id laws. Which the data shows would limit voting of people who wouldn't be voting for republicans. Such as elderly blacks who don't drive and therefore often don't have government issued picture ID. In fact they've been notorious for saying this in public (Mike Turzai).
Just got back from a week at the shore at Wildwood. The boardwalk shops were all selling Trump T-shirts. Not one Hillary one in sight.
ReplyDeleteShows what is selling and what isn't. So I guess this means that Hillary supporters don't go to the shore ?
The problem with the hanging chads in Florida was that the democrats were punching stacks of cards at one time and they had so many they could not punch through all of them. For democrats the more you are able to cheat, the more you are praised, that goes for being an accomplished liar. The Clintons are the best Liars and are praised for it.

ReplyDeleteEverybody lies at one time or another. Name a single US President that has never lied.
You R's have been after Hillary ever since she and Bill burst onto the national scene. When you can't make a charge stick, you invent something else.
Seriously, if the Clintons are as corrupt as some of you claim, then they have successfully avoided being successfully prosecuted for almost 3 decades. They belong in the White House because they obviously know how to work the system far better than any person who has ever held that office.
Bernie you have really jumped the shark with your non stop Donald Trump smear campaign, for the other readers who are weary of his war drum head over to InfoWars.com, or TheBlaze.com to get hyped up about America's impending rise.
ReplyDelete138...thats why those that voted for Bush also had hanging chads. What next, asking for birth certificates?
ReplyDeleteThe Democrats are scared. Plenty Scared. They're throwing every piece of shit against Trump that they can, no matter how ridiculous to try to find SOMETHING, ANYTHING to stop him.
ReplyDeleteI mean just look at Hillary Clinton. She really has no substantial accomplishments as a Senator except she was a carpetbagger in order to stay in politics after her husband's second term ended. She was rejected as a "co-president" for Bill in the 1990s, but was kept busy keeping all of Bill's bimbos out of the news and trashing those women in publc. Then in 2000 when Daniel Monahan's New York Senate seat opened up, she decided to buy a house in New York so she could run for the Senate.
Senator Hillary Clinton did nothing in the senate worth noting, but resigned in 2008 in order to run for President. Then that uppity black guy, Obama, upended her apple cart and she cut the deal with him to become Secretary of State.
After all, that was a job to give her "experience". She can't talk about being Secretary of State, I mean really, she and Obama screwed up the world with their insane foreign policy of giving the Muslims everything they wanted. They let the Russians into the Middle East with their stupid "reset" button, they pulled our forces out of Iraq and let ISIS form from the Terrorists that we defeated in Iraq.
They pulled the Anti-Ballistic missiles out of Poland because Putin didn't like them there, the Syrians use their poison gas against the rebels after Obama forgot about his "red line"; they screwed up Egypt by letting the Muslim Brotherhood take power, then ignored it after the people threw that want-to-be Ayatollah out of Cairo. Libya is a mess because they let the rebels get rid of a bad guy in Qaddafi, but he did support Bush's policy of killing Terrorists, and now the terrorists run the country.
Then there was her policy of trying to arm Syrian Rebels from Quadaffi's stocks of weapons, but she was told by both the CIA and the justice department that the rebels were Al Qaeda terrorists. But she didn't listen and the "rebels" killed our people in Benghazi.
Then there is the horrid deal with Iran that will let them have nuclear weapons and they seize our Naval ships; the midnight airlift of hundreds of millions in cash to Tehran for hostages, then the Ayatollahs take more prisoners afterwards.
Good God. And if that isn't enough, she goes against every security regulation in the book with her own private email servers outside of our government network so every hacker in the world can find out our government secrets. Now we are learning just today that a spy we had in the Iranian nuclear program was arrested and now killed by the Iranians because of supposedly "unclassified" emails that were leaked from her private server.
Then she lies about what the FBI director found out about what she did and says she "short circuited".
Good GOD, and you Democrats want to elect this incompetent PRESIDENT. You need your heads examined. She even rigged the primary election so she wouldn't have any opposition.
You must be out of your mind to Support Hillary Clinton.
So she cut the deal with Obama to take the consolation job as Secretary of State. Other than screw up the world, what did she do other than burn up millions in jet fuel gallivanting around the world? Can she talk about the "Rumanian Reset"
You are simply a fool to support Trump. If you think he cares about anyone other than his solipsistic self you are a dope as well. Having drunk the kool aid there's no more to be said.
DeleteTl:dr but EVERYONE should be scared of a Trump presidency. Although Hillary is lacking, she's the only sane choice at this point.
ReplyDelete4:09 -
ReplyDeleteYou make good points! Hillary is ABSOLUTELY difficult to defend on her qualities and accomplishments. Our Congress is just as disappointing, and don't start me on local and state government players!
My point is this. Americans NEED, and most I believe, want anything BUT another career politician! It's a year to "Thrown the Bums Out!"
You can substitute any other non-politican not named Trump. I wouldn't care. But, it IS Trump. By the way, Trump is HIGHLY qualified to do what needs to be done, and he has a record to prove it!
"Punch card ballots are cheaper, they cost next to nothing for the ballots, and the voters can see the holes they punch next to the people they vote for. The voter also sees their punch holes in the card and puts the card into the ballot box."
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the worst methods and introduces too much human error.
"You can substitute any other non-politican not named Trump. I wouldn't care. But, it IS Trump. By the way, Trump is HIGHLY qualified to do what needs to be done, and he has a record to prove it! "
ReplyDeleteHe is a terrible choice, and he himself has proved it.
Bernie, I find it kind of funny that the right wingers are attacking you. When you rightly post stories about Pawlowski and the NIZ corruption they love you and champion th ecause. Now when you dare to cover a national event in which Trump is showing his mental insatbilty and non-Presdiedntial temperament with no help from Clinton or the Democratic Partty they are mad at you. The now demand you cease and diessit form positng on national issue.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Trump has shown throughout the primaires and now in the general elction campaign that he is unstable means nothing to them. The right wing echo chamber keeps coming up woith new news(rumporez) of more people being killed by Hillary Clinton.
I admire your impartial look at things despite all the criticism. I guess you are not owned by Rupert Murdock or Clear Channel.
4.09, good points, you forgot that most of her globe hopping had to do with raising money for the Clinton foundation. Much of it from Saudi Arabia, the real biggest funder of terrorism and a major donor to the Clintons.
ReplyDelete8:40, I am far from impartial, but refuse to support someone simply bc he is belongs to one or another party. I hate bad government, Democrat or Republican. I would be an independent but then could not vote in primaries.
ReplyDeleteI don't and have made that clear on numerous occasions. You just don't read.
ReplyDelete4.09
ReplyDelete"They're throwing every piece of shit against Trump that they can, no matter how ridiculous to try to find SOMETHING, ANYTHING to stop him."
you do not find it strange that the Democrats are using trump's own words?
they must be pretty crafty to FORCE the donald to say such things.
the rest of your screed is basically half truths and malformed opinion.
for example
"Then there is the horrid deal with Iran that will let them have nuclear weapons and they seize our Naval ships"
the Iranian nuclear program could only be stopped by military intervention.
that is the hard reality.
as to Navy ships the US Navy admitted that our guys messed up and entered the territorial waters of Iran.
The Iranians could have blown our ship out of the water(and of course suffered the consequences of that act).
so in both instances starting a major war is the solution to those problems?
@12:11 What difference does it make ?
