Nazareth to Honor Three Officers Today.
In addition, for the first time in many years, there will be an awards ceremony to honor officers for "outstanding acts and service to the community."
Officer Stephen Schleig will be honored for his quick action in administering an automated external defibrillator (AED) to Jeff Fogel in February 2015, after he went into cardiac arrest.
Officer Randy Pompei, a part-timer that Miller very much wants to come to Nazareth instead of Palmer Tp, is receiving two awards. The first is for saving the life of a woman who attempted to slit her throat. The second is for removing a woman from Madison Street Apartments during a fire, although this woman had already died.
Chief Thomas Trachta will also receive an award. I do not know the reason.
I have no idea whether Mayor Carl Strye, an accused felon, or Council member Larry Stoudt, who was charged by PSP with interfering with an investigation into the social clubs, will attend. Out of concern that they will be there and that I'd say something, I'll skip the ceremony. It would be unfair to the officers and their families to mar the ceremony by saying what needs to be said, over and over, until they resign. Until that happens, it makes no difference how many awards are bestowed.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Nazareth only has 3 officers lol
ReplyDeleteNazareth has full-time officers Stephen Schleig and Alan Koch, Chief Trachta and Comm'r Randy Miller. There are six part-timers, I believe.
ReplyDeleteTalk about a top-heavy organization!
ReplyDeleteLahavsky should get an award!!
ReplyDeleteI repeat FT. FM.imprison Strye. Fuck Deputy Dogg.
ReplyDeleteTrachta will get the Tiny Sticker award.
ReplyDeleteI know Chief Trachta from his days in the NYPD where he served honorably despite spurious allegations made by some concerning his connection to the scandal there. Tommy could have sailed away on his fat pension but he loves being a cop, serving and protecting.
ReplyDeleteNazareth has been besieged by vandalism, drug crimes, contrarian news coverage, cash grabbing lawsuits, and turmoil in the Mayor's office at a time like this we should rally around our brave public servants who put their life on the line day in and day out it speaks volumes to O'Hare's credibility that he refuses to cover this event because he is unable to set aside his personal animus for the Chief in order to shine some positive light on his service.
Vito
"Vito," There is nothing personal about my refusal to attend this ceremony, and my reason for skipping has nothing to do with Trachta. It has everything to do with a corrupt Mayor and a Council with a member who wanted police to interfere in a PSP investigation. Had either of these two attended, I would have said something because I can't stand the hypocrisy. This would have then been the focal point of the awards ceremony instead of the awards themselves. I skipped the event out of respect.
ReplyDelete"... contrarian news coverage ..."
ReplyDeleteContrary to what or whom, Vito? Some of we Nazareth voters think the actions of the crooks in charge of Nazareth are contrary to our best interests and accountable government, in general. Your nomination of Trachta for sainthood ignores his pathetic - and lawsuit inducing - pursuit of guys putting little stickers around town that insulted Cupcake. Cupcake also used Boro resources to investigate a Bushkill Township incident where poop was placed on the Chief's porch. He essentially stole resources from the good citizens of Nazareth. Now, about that sainthood petition ...
4:11, "Vito" does not exist. The sock puppet was created and lies were told, not to honor Trachra, but to bash me. There are some sick people out there. One is being sued by Lehigh County's DA for defamation and false light publicity, and another was successfully sued by me. Any real cop would have ended his comment with his badge number. It's a phony comment by a troll.

Larry Stoudt needed to go to work today at the American Legion to work a job he does not get paid for. Can anyone seriously believe that the bartender's at the legion who show up every day to work their shifts never get paid? Sorry for getting off topic, but seriously, there are so many lies being told to the taxpayers throughout the years and the liars seem to have more standing in the town than the guys that protect us. It is a shame the "good cops" have to file lawsuits to get the justice they deserve.
ReplyDeleteYawns..... To attend this would have asked the question. Look at Miller Or Tracta AND ASK YOURSELF ENEMA OR DOUCHE... YOU DECIDE.
ReplyDeleteThese jerkoffs aren't for real and couldn't shine a good cops shoes. They are an embarrassment to real decent men in blue. They even make Barney Fife look good-
How about the scum bag Mayor they lick his butt......
Miller's career has been in reverse for years. Bethlehem police chief to county sheriff to "commissioner" of a Mayberry, RFD police force. His next stop is head of security at the Palmer Park Mall.
ReplyDeleteNazareth doesn't have a police dept anymore than they have a Borough gov't.
ReplyDeleteBirds of a feather flock together couldn't be more true.
Don't send Miller down to the Palmer park mall I feel safe talking my kids there. I don't want to worry about my kids being stripped searched for not tying her shoes. You know what I am talking about.Miller what happened in Bethlehem.
ReplyDeleteWhy did it take over a year to award officer Schleig his award was it a real award.
