Innocent Mayors Do Not Waive Preliminary Hearings

The Express Times reports that Nazareth Mayor Carl Strye has waived his preliminary hearing on theft charges before Magisterial District Judge Jackie Taschner. That's a neat trick because, as of yesterday morning, no preliminary hearing had been scheduled.

The last thing an innocent person does is waive a preliminary hearing. That's an opportunity to learn how bbad the case against him actually is. Those who waive already know..

Strye will apply for ARD and will likely get it, but I believe he will be required to step down as Mayor to show his remorse, especially after his antics at the time when charges were filed.

  1. Bernie, according to the docket sheet, he was scheduled for Preliminary yesterday at 1:30pm and has a court date of 6/23/16.

  2. The waiver has nothing to do with believing you are guilty. You must waive the preliminary hearing for the DA to ever consider your ARD application. If you put the DA through a preliminary hearing, they won't allow you to get ARD.

Yes, it does. Why else would be attempting to get ARD for first time OFFENDERS? If he believes himself innocent, he wouldn't entertain entering a program that assumes one is guilty, as a step toward having one's record expunged.

  6. Bernie, word out there court house wise is he isn't gonna be required to resign for ARD. ARD is granted and approved by the DA or his office. The word is since the theft had nothing to do with him being elected Mayor after he stole the monies....... he isn't gonna be required to resign.

  7. Innocent innocent that's like saying Millers ass is innocent chuckle chuckle. My God he's the only one I know that would cut the rope from his own soap, then cupcakes and Dinkle pussy Strye rope. Just saying. You know his nickname was rubber lips. I personally don't believe it was from talking to much. But I guess car soap might be the cause of his actions on lying, stealing, asshole is hum.Alright so I made up a new word . Let's not forget all the other rumors. Which by the way,are facts that people are afraid to say. Pusses',how many cops does it take to being up charges,to the DA . Answer none it would not matter DA is on the take.

  8. 12:12, ARD has to be approved by the DA AND the courts. If he refuses to resign, that and his arrogant statements demonstrate a complete lack of remorse . He can't get ARD if he fails to demonstrate remorse.

  11. Listen...you can't mistake the right hand with the left...the right hand is very guilty and can't be trusted...the left one will never get mixed up with the right, so it will have no issue being Mayor or overseeing the police department in any way. My question is this...in other countries what would they do with the "guilty hand"? Lol...hey we will let a crack addict be mayor of DC why not Nazareth!

That is ex post facto. There was no scheduled P/H. He came in and waived it. Yesterday. At 1:30 pm. I was on that site the day before, and had it been scheduled in advance, I would have known.

A liar and a thief- What else is there we don't know about yet?

I think if they look at his personal computer they might be enlightened and horrified even more-
