Bennett Announces Run For Mayor on Business Matters

Sam Bennett announced her candidacy for Allentown Mayor during a taping of WFMZ-TV69's popular Business Matters program. According to Ron Angle, who was also on that show as a guest, Bennett made clear she will not accept Fed Ed's endorsement.

Bennett reportedly said she expected to see a crowded Democratic field, but not many Republicans.

Unless he resigns or is charged and convicted, Allentown Mayor Edwin Pawlowski will remain in office until the end of next year.

  5. Although Afflerbach undoubtedly was far and away the WORST mayor in the city's history, she could be just as bad or even worse. I don't understand why she didn't take her ball a few years ago and just go away. She is incompetent and a fraud. It's too bad that FedEd had to get involved in all the shenanigans that he did.

  9. Are you too lazy to google it? Have we become this lazy that you expect others to do your research? I'm not your mommy.

  11. It would be time to move out of Allentown if that crazed phony is ever elected mayor.

  12. I'd say it's her race to lose. Allentown is some pretty low hanging fruit. She moved out of town after her own scandal, just in time for Ed to get mired in his own scandal. Maybe things are finally working out for Ms. Bennett.

She has enough democratic friends to avoid any real confrontation, too.

  13. Democrats could offer Attila the Hun as their candidate and he would be our next Mayor. The uniformed masses in the city just blindly pull the D lever, if they even vote at all.

  14. What scandal? I heard she got run out of her high paying job in DC because of another scandal. Same thing?

  15. Unfortunately 1243pm is correct. If Bennett doesn't get a primary challenger, she's in.

    God help us all.

  17. Next time you watch that phony baloney show, imagine that the host is required to keep his hand folded behind his back for the entire program. He would be mute.

Republicans could offer Attila the Hun as their candidate and he would be our next governor. The uniformed masses in the red states just blindly pull the R lever, if they even vote at all.

  20. Ms Bennett would be wise to conduct a secret plan to have Herself written in the the Republican ballot as well

  21. Very clever 3:57PM. You are obviously a mindless Democrat who can only reword someone else's comments like a school child repeating insults. Everyone knows that PA. Is a blue state and has a D governor. But DUH, you just had a Homer Simpson moment. Now go back to Reading the manefesto of Comrade Bernie Sanders.

  22. Thank you for the Pa. civics lesson Republican Senator Sen. Toomey. I see southern state R lever pulling sarcasm is lost on a child-like mind. Sad.

  23. Of course she announced her candidacy already. She would be the worst disaster to blow through Allentown since....well....ever.

Anyone else would be better. Pick someone out of the jail at random and they would be better.

  24. Hopefully there will be at the very least a primary challenge against her. However, if Ianelli and his goofy TV show keeps giving goofs like her and Ron Angle a stage for their mania, who knows?

This is the chance for Republicans to stop moaning and complaining and mount a big challenge.

A guy like Jose Rosado should move within the city limits and run against her in a primary. he would knock her out of the box.
