Who's Going To Fed Ed's State of the Shitty?

Fed Ed is scheduled to give his State of the Shitty address today at the Renaissance Hotel, right in the heart of the NIZ. Doors open 11:30 am, but the program itself does not start until 12:20. Despite the $30 cost, I registered and am attending.

Last year, his State of the Shitty drew about 250-300 people, with people lined up along the walls. So it will be interesting to see if this year's attendance is the same.

According to the Facebook announcement, this event will be attended by community and business leaders, City Council, members of his cabinet and department heads. But that announcement was published before City Council's no-confidence vote last week. I seriously doubt that a single Council member will be there. After calling on him to resign, it would be hypocritical to attend his address.

I also doubt that many community and business leaders will be there. They don't want to be handed a subpoena as they leave. But I'll try to note as many of those who do appear as I can. I'd just love to meet Lehigh Conference of Churches Exec Director Jack Felch.

Fed Ed's cabinet will be there, but only because they have no choice.

I fully expect His Goner to report that the State of the Shitty is just wonderful. I doubt he will mention the federal investigation or the four Allentown indictments, including three City Officials. I also doubt he'll discuss his failure to call a snow emergency before Saturday's storm. Or sending 30 homeless people into a blizzard. Or the delays caused by transfers of trucks and personnel to the Lehigh County Authority. Or the damage caused when Allentown's schools are forced to close their doors for a week. Or the poor children who will go hungry without the breakfast or lunch they can count on at school, if not at home. Or the news that federal investigators have expanded their investigation to the Parking Authority.

He's going to have to lie, but as the federal informations make clear, he's been lying to the FBI. Lying to the public is much easier.

If I have an opportunity to question him, I will. I have no intention of disrupting his speech. But when he lies, he knows he is going to be looking right at a number of people who know he's a liar.

I believe Rich Fegley and Bob Trotner are going. Deb Boylan, King Allentown's campaign manager, may be there as well.

  1. He has a campaign manager now???

  2. I went to all of them in the early years.
They weren't what you would call exciting, but they were sort of interesting.
Now I find Ed and Fran both so absolutely repulsive I just can't bear to look at them.
Being in the same room with those two people who have caused so much damage---I just couldn't take it.
    Just can't do it.

  3. Members of the Community Actiom Reform Team will be rallying peacefully outside to call attention to Pawlowski's utter failure as a leader. Anyone interested is welcome to join us. We rely on your usual excellent reporting on the speech.

  4. 12:48, I'm referring to King Allentown, who is not Fed Ed. When not visiting food banks or offending women, he plays hockey. He has been kicked out of numerous venues and is my hero. I can't prove this, but suspect Deb Boylan is King Allentown, Jr.

  5. This is my favorite thing you've ever written. I'm crying.

  6. Bernie, I consider myself a person in the know and am feeling stupid. I can't figure out who King Allentown is.

    ReplyDelete
  7. It's a good thing that you read this blog. King Allentown is probably the biggest celebrity to have ever existed in the Lehigh Valley. He was a write-in candidate for City Council, and ran on the platform that he could really use the money. He was a successful litigant on Judge Judy and is known on Facebook as Danglehham Lincoln. He is currently performing consulting services. "Lied on a resume? Need off from work? For a small fee I can pretend to be your doctor or former employer on the phone. Inbox me."

  9. Get a good picture of Ed Disgrace. Actually, if there is such a thing as a good picture of him, just snap his photo.

By the way, check this out:

What are the odds of King Ed pulling an R. Budd Dwyer maneuver?

  12. You can bet that CE Muller will be thgere. Both campaigns had the same manger and contributors. The big question is whether Musty Muller will drive his new corvette or be carried there?

  13. I will be there to cover for the Press. I am hoping they will allow me in without having to pay $30, but I will have cash on hand in case they don't want my services as a voice of the legitimate media.

Yes, I am working as King Allentown's campaign manager. I aspire tone the next Mike Fleck minus the wires and flipping on my friends.

As for that persistent rumor I am King Jr. I resemble those remarks. I am his official handler. I have tried to get a photo us together but it always seems I am in the restroom when he comes out and then he's not to be found when I am looking for him.

  14. If I am forced to pay for admission I will make sure to load my pockets and pants with bread and butter and other goodies for the protesters outside. Don't ask where I will be stuffing all this food,, ust be happy I am sharing my largess with you.

  15. Just out of curiosity, why would there be a "cover charge" to hear this? Is there a two drink minimum? I would assume that it should be open to the public free of charge.

What is the justification and where does the money go? Is this an "official" city function?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Has the state of the city address always been an event where you have to pay to get in?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm more curious to see if there will be a Question and Answer segment open to the entire audience. Talk about a high stress moment!

Rotary has to rent a room and pay for food. I am surprised Rotary members would involve themselves in this invitation. Valued organizations in Allentown are falling like snowflakes. First the Conference of Churches, now Rotary.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Given your ill advised vulgarity, then your hero, RoAng should attend as an honoree.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Bernie, that's interesting that you think Deb B. is King P? Maybe it's a trick that she is a reporter?

    ReplyDelete
  21. What is legitimate media?

    ReplyDelete
  22. The only question is will the Renaissance be there by the end of this year?

With $300/night rooms, the demand for staying there can't be all that high.

    Allentown is not Manhattan

    ReplyDelete
  23. Bernie,
While he was down in Washington , he was adamantly telling people that he is not resigning and not going anywhere. He is planning on fighting this the whole way and has all his campaign funds to fight this out for a long time. Allentown is in trouble. I don't see this getting resolved anytime soon.

    ReplyDelete
  24. When Donchez does his mess of the city speech he has to wait for john and lisa to show up so there is someone to pull his strings

    ReplyDelete
  25. The Rotary has been hosting this event for years.

It's luncheon. You're paying for a full meal.

There has never been a Q&A segment.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I can book a room at the Renaissance for $140 - $224 on expedia. (Not $300, as 7:52 states.) Still, I can get a cheaper room at a similar starred hotel in Center City Philly for less. It's CRAZY!

I get the feeling that all of the online reviews I've read for the Marriott are written by paid employees. It's strange...

The WFMZ article was the first newspaper mention of American Hairlines closing that I've seen. It's rather big news, I'd say, that the business didn't even last 3 months. What's next to close? Attendees at the State of the Shitty will need to walk past quite a few vacancies.

    ReplyDelete
  27. If the Rotary were to not host this event, the result would be.........??

    ReplyDelete
  28. These are not vacancies but opportunities for merchants to get off the waiting list and enter the frenetic pace of Allentown.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The number of school days will remain the same, at 180. Therefore, school kids will receive their breakfast and lunch for the same 180 days of the year as if it had not snowed. ASD has used 4 of their 5 snow days, which is about average for this time of year.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Monday was already scheduled to be an ASD in-service day, which was rescheduled to yesterday (Thursday). The staff is also required to report today (Friday), which may count as a second in-service day, which may make it easier to make up that snow day.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Who is Ed Disgrace? Don't know his story.

King Allentown.....great man. Will he be in attendance?

B.O., id be willing to wager you are politely turned away today.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if he gave this address from an undisclosed location simulcast into the Renaissance.

    ReplyDelete
  32. This event was scheduled and the room was reserved long before the recent set of criminal charges. Don't blame the Rotary, which does a great deal of good work.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I realize this is a little 'off-topic,' but must acknowledge 9:00AMs post. The kids ALWAYS get the required 180 days of instruction, even during a strike. As for teachers, EVERY snow day is made-up with another new work day created for a later date. Times have changed, and so have pensions (but you won't often hear this).

    Thank you for your tolerance.

    Fred Windish

  34. First Shula's now Pop Mart and American Hairlines are now closing in Allentown. Next up? Tony Lukes, Moravian Book Shop? The house of cards called Allentown is crumbling. You still have to drive thru a shit hole to get there. Not Good. Fed Ed should leave while everything is still open.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The state of the city. This is a state mandated event. Good God. We must clean the sewer that is Harrisburg and watch where they run. Imagine the ferret this morning, tweaking his speech in front of a mirror.. Moving on to the audience at this event . Aside from Bernie, some reporters, some body language experts, who are these people, the swells that attend most useless events will be there because that is what they do.

    ReplyDelete
  36. If Mr Pawlowski was receiving campaign donations for pay to play, why does he still have access to these funds? I think his account should be frozen.

  37. I love what 8:47 had to say. If I had $30 I would come on down, but I don't. I hear the Vatican are sending a team from their "Devil's advocate" department to investigate Edwin for Sainthood. St. Edwin the martyr has a nice ring to it!

The State of the city is a TOTAL HOT MESS....like a dropped enchiladilla......

The Budd Dwyer references are twisted and disgusting. Please stop.

From what I understand there are about 50 people there.

Can't wait to hear what Bernie has to say.

  42. I've only watched the first half hour. The camera is 95% on the podium, so it's hard to gauge the crowd size. The applause sounds to be pretty meek, certainly 100 or less.

Overall, Pawlowski is doing a darn good job, in that he shows no nervousness, speaks as if the "Elephant in the Room" really is not there. He's ABSOLUTELY in legal trouble, but you'd never know it. To this extent, I give him credit.

    Fred Windish

    ReplyDelete
  43. I missed the Budd Dwyer comment. I agree that is sick. But after the first 30 minutes, I wouldn't blame people for throwing up. I thought it was state of the city, not a list of things Ed wants to take credit for.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think most people can sum up the state of the city in a few sentences .

the city and her so called leadership is out of control . The city and her so called leadership is corrupt like never before and even better, the corruption has been exposed. The city is watching the mayor and the most corrupt admin charged or soon to be charged for their crimes against the public.

the city now has more non tax paying people with in her boundaries , than ever before. the city now has more illegals than ever before. funny how the two go hand in hand. yet people are afraid to admit that. basically more takers than makers. job well done social engineers and you all know who you are !

the city now uses more state and federal aid than ever before because the tax base is leaving this mess of a town.

The city now has more high school drop outs and uneducated students than before. Again, this points to the influx of illegals and other well known factors.Once again, people are afraid to admit that and those who do, get labeled as racist, thanks to the mob rule mentality.

The city is owned and operated by corrupt politicians/lawyers, special interest, corrupt unions and those in the 1% who control everything , bc they have the cash.

It is time the mayor shows the public the cost of his defense as of today , paid for by the tax payers, and others who were scammed by this criminal.

The city is in huge trouble when it comes to funding the pensions of her workers, thanks to greed and stupidity from both sides.

The city has more uninformed , zero liability voters than ever before and that's just how the politicians like it to be.

BUT OTHER THAN THAT, WE HAVE A 150-200 MILLION DOLLAR ARENA AND A NIZ.

It is a sad state of affairs in this city due to one party rule, a bought and paid for city council/puppets and school board/puppets, that have no accomplishments to speak of other than scamming elections, a corrupt power hungry incompetent, city govt , corrupt and power hungry union leadership and businessmen who pay all of the above mentioned criminals with donations and pac contributions.

BUT HEY, ISN'T DEMOCRACY AND ONE PARTY RULE JUST FANTASTIC.

  45. This would be a great time for the feds to walk in and cuff this guy and watch him being perp walked out of the room. I would love to see fed ed doing the frog/bunny hop/shuffle, with leg shackles on.

  50. The reality is, Allentown looks better downtown because a few people SPENT MONEY. Unfortunately, nearly all of the money in their wallet was not their own!

Spending gifted money doesn't take a whole lot of nerve, nor talent.

  51. I understand 56 people where at the SOTC babble, Bernie was 1 of them. Various city employees still afraid of their jobs, other ashtray holders of various pursuits. 62. He just keeps smirking at WFMZ TV reporter Jamie Stover tries to ask him about his lack of a working arrangement with Allentown City Council. http://www.mcall.com/opinion/yourview/mc-sanctuary-cities-browning-yv--20150921-story.html

Lehigh County in 2014 told corrections officials to not keep inmates in custody who are scheduled to be released, in response to a request to hold them from federal immigration officials. The Commissioners were told they faced legal liability if the federal immigration officials were wrong, which has happened in other areas.
