Steve George to Challenge Gary Day For State Rep

Steve George has announced his campaign for the Democratic nomination to Pennsylvania State Representative seat in the 187th district at noon yesterday, which is currently held by Republican Gary Day. A Lynn Township resident, he was active in the last municipal race. He made his announcement from The Basin Street Hotel in Kutztown, surrounded by family and friends. "I am tired of the party divide in Harrisburg," he stated, adding that "[t]he current trend of voting among party lines is detrimental to our community. Money is being wasted and the average taxpayer is getting stuck with the bill. ” said George. He went on to say, “As your State Representative, I will go to Harrisburg to represent what is best for our community, not my own personal interests or those of special interest’s groups.

George is a journeyman electrician with IBEW Local 375. He lives in New Tripoli with his wife Taylor and daughter Adriana.

His Facebook page is located here.

    1. Spiked hair , goatee & a Union thug . Nah ... I'll pass . No worries Gary Day , this guy don't have a chance . The Democratic Party is a freak show in this area.

  2. Makes sense to bring in a 'union' guy if some want continued pension protection at all costs.

  3. Your community doesn't want their taxes raised and your Democratic Governor Wolf wants to do just that . Will you vote against the Democrats in the spirit of not raising taxes ? Will you ? .. I sincerely doubt it as you will be ostracized in your Party as an outsider if you do. I doubt you want to be an outsider as a freshman representative therefore perceive you to be just another democrat supporting tax and spend platforms . Stick to electricity you will be a lot happier !

  4. A good start would be to shave the hair off his face.
    Assume he is a democrat.

  6. I remember Gary Day when he was scurrying around after the semi-literate Mayor, Bill "It's a Done Deal" Heydt.
    Pathetic.

  9. Spiked hair and a goatee is what you're worried about? It's refreshing seeing the younger generation getting involved, and to keep reelecting the same dolts year after year is driving Pa down a pretty depressing path. I would like to see more of his policy stances.

  10. Based on what I see (yes, we all judge on appearance), I bet his policy stands firmly behind light beer in mass quantities, wings and Nickelback music.

  11. I'm so glad everybody likes my goatee and beard!

I have a firm belief in compromise and being a tax and spend Dem is not on my agenda. As stated in my press release and on my website, I actually do want to represent my district fairly, as hard as that is to comprehend.

Governent waste is such a glaring issue, yet most people seem to ignore it. BTW, Gary was 9th in the state in expense spending, up 87% from the previous year!

As far as lite beer, wings and Nickelback, I do enjoy Miller Lite, who doesn't like wings, and I like all types of music, although Nickelback is close to the bottom of my list.

Hope everybody has a great weekend, and happy blogging!
