Why Fed Ed Bought Burner Phones

Allentown Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski likes to tell people he has no idea what he could possibly have done. But the Dale Wiles information makes very clear that No. 3 has been feeding a lot of No. 2.

According to the information, Wiles hid his bid rigging from prosecutors in response to a subpoena that went back as far as May 22, 2014.  He also lied to investigators as long ago as May 27, 2014, when they first questioned him. So did Finance Director Gary Strathearn.

So Fed Ed knew he was being watched as long ago as May 2014.

That explains the burner phones and electronic sweeps.

His feigned ignorance is just an act.

  1. This all just "didn't happen" suddenly. I suspect the more that is found out about Ed's history as the Mayor of Allentown, his malfeasance in office goes back to the first year of his first term as mayor.

This is, after all, how things re done in Chicago.

  6. Who do you think # 1 and # 2 targets are.??? Brown and JB. With the new cigarette tax the windfall to JB is another $10 million a year or so, the powers that be have to be upset.

  7. Did Diane Miller - one of the Mayor's office girl retire or move to another office ... The Last I saw her in City Hall was when she was escorting a man thru City Hall looking at all security devices.

  8. The cigarette tax revenue indeed for NIZ and Mr. Reilly ... He bought Dav1e Dorward's Lehigh Valley tobacco ,Candy and merchandize warehouse on Hanover Avenue in East Allentown ... He moved its main office to the NIZ district to declare the tax break and now has build a new storage warehouse in the NIZ district ... Now we in East Allentown have another empty business building ... We don't benefit tax wise by the revenue flowing into the NIZ district ... But what we do face is higher earned income taxes, higher water and sewer bills, and no reduction in property taxes... Supposedly we in Allentown still pay a higher earned income tax because of the continuing pension issue ... So I who suffered a pension reduction when the PBGC took over my Bethlehem Steel pension have to dole out more of my revenue when I umpire and substitute teach occasional in NJ .

  9. Dennis--- tell me one new business that came to downtown Allentown that came from outside the area? All businesses that relocated were located somewhere else in the valley or nearby area as Professor Thode has echoed from the very start. This has not been an economic driver for Pennsylvania but only for JB and crew.

  10. Once the feds are done in A-town and King Edwin is dethroned, they should set their sights to the east, and investigate the Clown administration.

The Clown Administration appears to be just a band of idiot buffoons on the public dole. Not sure there is any federal offense there.

The feds go for low hanging fruit first. As people roll over, they can be used against the big stinky cheese.

  13. Hmm, I wonder why Pawlowski backed candidates would accept large sums of money form local businessmen? I understand why Unions would throw away good money at bad candidates because they wanted to stay in favor with Pawlowski. Maybe they trusted business advice from Fleck Consulting or the political arm.....oh what's the difference. Same floor, different door. What's all the Ruckus about?

Target #1 is Pawlowski. I believe some of this may splatter elsewhere but doubt it. Most people are not criminals.

  16. 9:50 good point. Why waste valuable federal resources to investigate a bunch of clueless buffoons working for Clownmaster J? The voters will clean house in 2017.

  17. How about that $2.7 million that brown has stolen from open space. I'm sure LOTS of that money is finding it's way into John A Brown's pockets.

  19. I see Sam Bennet, CEO of her house, has become a favorite of master barker Ianelli on Business Matters. She along with fellow talking mouth Ron Angle provide amusement on the show.

Word is she will be the next mayor of Allentown if she can find a political sugar daddy.
