Occupational Hazards of Blogging

During a phone conversation that a friend of mine had with Northampton County Executive John Brown today, she was concerned about something that she read here.

"I don't get my information from blogs," huffed Brown.

Later in the day, some anonymous coward castigated me for writing about Allentown because I don't live there. Neither does Bill White or most reporters who are actually paid to cover the City.

In the evening, I practically killed myself driving on very windy and pitch black roads to find the Williams Tp Municipal Building, pissing off a procession of cars behind me. When I finally got there, Land Preservation Comrade Bob "Full of" Schmidt suggested that Williams Township could be sued for leaking an open space land appraisal to "an Internet blogger."

I think he was referring to me. The appraisal, incidentally, indicated that Schmidt really is full of shit.

So it's pretty clear that we bloggers have terrible reputations. Obviously, the person responsible for our poor image is none other than that bastard Michael Molovinsky.

He's such a naysayer.

  5. Bernie ,The majority of NORCO CONSTITUENTS that CARE whats going on get their news from this blog. Under 300,000 but never the less, can't or will not show up at meeting -so they can get it here.Evan employees of NORCO get on this blog to digest events that effect issues. This is The New York Times of this county.---IF fact, I say we in this COUNTRY are ripe for a cell attack shortly and we need to batten down our hatches . This President can lower flags here for France after they were warned by Iraq of an impending attack, but would not do so for our Marines shot up in KY.

  6. Mayor Sal Panto did the right thing , and I thank him ,lowering flags here in Easton ,Pa.FIRST of nation wide, then The Speaker of the House ordered flags on the Capital Building-- well before any action on the behalf of this White House. Now you know late ,that this was a deliberate attack on the Marine Corps by a jihadist. Well screw him.Let this kind of knucklehead stand off from some former Marine at 1000 meters and see what happens. But no, they kill people in NO GUN ZONES- This country is in serious dog doo-do.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics.
