You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Exactly. We lost Judge Smith a year ago, and I'd selfishly hate to see Emil go too. This is a win for the citizens of NorCo.
ReplyDeleteBernardo, agreed. Emil has always been a class act, on or off the bench, in his professional life and in his personal life. Glad that he is staying with us.
ReplyDeleteThat IS great news!!! #karma
ReplyDeleteThe toxic kiss of death endorsement strikes again.....
ReplyDeleteI noticed that he lost Philly & Pittsburgh by a combined 200,000 votes, won the rest of the state by 80,000. People just pulling those red & blue levers, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh at two people who are so full of hate for me that they are glad when a candidate i support loses. They care nothing about the issues, only their own hatred.
ReplyDeleteIt's very clear that PA is a solid blue state now. No more purple. Pittsburgh and Philly run the state. Ballot splitters in the LV are not a factor staewide. Hillary will beat the GOP candidate by 20 points next year.
ReplyDeleteI feel badly about Emil's loss. I voted for him, and didn't care one bit that he is an R. I told all of my D friends who wanted to know who to vote for that he was the one. The Philadelphia stronghold won out. He would have made a fine addition to the appellate bench; however, you are correct, in that it is Northampton County's win in keeping him. I wish him well, and the good thing about him is that I know this will not affect his attitude on the bench. He will continue to be a hard-working and caring judge with good ethics.
ReplyDeleteI don't know Emil. But everyone that talks about him speaks very, very highly. That's from both sides of the political aisle and personal friends.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad, as a relatively new Northampton County resident, that we kept him around. Sucks he lost though.
I wonder if all the candidates you support will end up on Blog Mentor's HATE WALL? I hope Emil dodges it.
He does not have BRD Good for Northampton (Anybody in the legal field knows what that means) Glad he's staying.

ReplyDeleteEmil has always been a class act and a dedicated jurist. It is a shame that Philly and Pittsburgh run this states electorate but thats a microcosm of the country. The urban areas vote overwhelmingly democrat because of heredity not usually because of logic. But as is the topic of this discussion, the state loss is our gain in our little respite
