Dat got banged up pretty hard before this foul shot. He was jammed, face first, onto the hardwood floor |
Dat is playing for the Bulls. His team includes Jordan Harrington (Whitehall), Justin “JP” Paz (BECA), Ryan Young (BECA), AJ (CCHS), Ryan Young (BECA) and Hector Morales (Allen). On Sunday, they qualified for the 'ship, and will face the Spurs on Sunday at 3 pm at the Swain School.
After that, it's tryouts time.
I thought you said Dat was going to your alma mater BECAHI.
ReplyDeleteToo bad for BECAHI.
Some of those kids look like NFL linebackers! How tall is Dat now? Looks like he is filling out a bit. Will need that weight in the paint!
ReplyDeleteDat switched to CCHS this year. It is much closer to his home, and his mom does not have to look to get him a ride three days a week. I tried my best to keep him at Beca, but his mother made clear I have absolutely no say in the matter. He does like CCHS, and this probably was a good move for him. He is only 7 minutes away from school, and being closer, has more time to get his studying done before he starts his drills. But CCHS has no air.
ReplyDelete8:10, Dat is not very tall. Only about 5'10". I think he starts lifting this year. He was not lifting before, but would do pushups while other team members lift. The fear was that lifting would stunt his growth. He is quite muscular, but is actually very thin.
ReplyDeleteYou are right Bernie. A lot of kids have been delaying lifting until mid teens. Until then just calisthenics and passive resistance exercises.
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see the kid play Bernie! It's been a pleasure watching him grow up here.
