Opinions Online About to Heat Up
Things are going to heat up this weekend, as municipal races get closer. I already have comments from readers in two municipalities - Bushkill and South Whitehall Tps - that I don't regularly cover. These are the kind of comments I envisioned when I started this forum.
This is your chance to weigh in on any race or anything else that might be bothering you. Had a bad experience dealing with some local official? A good one? Tell us about it.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Hopefully some new blood on Bethlehem council will stimulate the present asleep at the wheel caretaker administration.
ReplyDeleteUnlikely. That administration is out to lunch permanently. And the new comers are supporters of the administration.
ReplyDeleteBernie, I believe you stole this "Opinions Online" idea from Jim Gregory? It is my understanding that earlier this year, Jim started operating a old fashion, but very successful message board at SCI Pittsburgh named "Opines on the Wall in the Latrine.?
ReplyDeleteI know someone who has had trouble with a local official. bwahahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteThe mentor is putting trolls like "cousin" Jeffey on blast rocking their synapses with fact barrel bombs. Should have apologized fatso, oopsie!
ReplyDeleteBlog Mentor, everyone has your number. I suspect you will soon be facing both civil liability (again) and criminal charges (again). You can only play the grieving father violin so many times before people get sick of you.
ReplyDeleteHow DOES Blog Mentor get away with that libelous Sidebar of Hate?
ReplyDeleteHe won't.
ReplyDeleteI'm all in favor of free speech, make no mistake. However, anyone with even a shred of moral decency knows that certain things are always completely out of bounds. That Blog Mentor bozo just doesn't cross the line by leaps and bounds. He leaves it all behind in the rear view mirror as he happily speeds off well into the next hemisphere.
ReplyDeleteIt's extremely hard to believe no one ever put the brakes on that Sidebar of Hate a long, long time ago.
The Blog Mentor has a very unhealthy obsession. I knew Bob when he was in high school - kid was a space cadet. Sadly, his actions took BM's daughter. That's over and done with - she isn't coming back, and it does her no honor to act the way BM has. Take the telephone pole out of your ass, and smack yourself in the head with it. Nobody is inviting you on the radio again to mumble about your years-long hangups. That ship has sailed.
ReplyDeleteThe Northampton County races are easy. Republicans win Districts 3 and 4 on county council. They could have taken 2 but wisely wanted to keep Easton Dem's at home to help their county wide candidates.
ReplyDeleteThat will give Republicans a 7-2 majority on county council. Leaving only mumbling Warner and Frat boy mature Kraft. The Dem's are done.
Thank you as always for your support, Bernie.
ReplyDeleteI had a productive day meeting yesterday with counsel. Given the interest conflict, charges will have to go through the AG's office rather that the DA's, which will add a few days or more to the process, but so be it.
On the civil side of our efforts, apparently his previous -- and numerous -- threats make an injunction somewhat easier to obtain. Also, his attempts to damage my firm's reputation expand our options for pursuing damages. And, of course, it's gratifying how many of the people he's previously defamed have stepped forward and offered to testify. The courts move a bit more slowly than I'd like, but we'll get there. He should enjoy his "victory lap" while it lasts...
What I find interesting, tactically, is how well his homeowners insurance will take having to pay for a second civil suit. He's already under pressure to settle, especially given the setbacks he's experiencing in his current civil suit. As you know, he got virtually nothing of that 3.1 million he drones on about -- and really has nothing. I suspect at some point in the not too distant future, he'll have to decide between paying a lawyer's bill and putting gas in his car -- especially with a third party contemplating legal action.
And what kind of grown man makes frequent use of the word "ooopsie"? I guess the kind who lacks the courage to sign his name when he tries to taunt someone.
