Is Hayden Phillips Going to Primary John Brown?
There's a rumor circulating among Republicans that he intends to oppose John Brown should he seek re-election to Executive in two years. I have no idea whether he'll confirm this interest, but am passing along what I hear.

Come on Bernie. I know you hate Brown and will not stop banging away at everything Brown for the next three years. However, the Republicans in the county are confusing as Hell. Hayden Phillips, a tea party conservative darling wanted a 20% county tax increase. He ended up voting for a 10% county tax increase.
ReplyDeleteWe read that Republicans would never vote for a Democrat because of their "tax and spend" ways.
I don't see the benefit with Phillips. If Republicans like to talk conservative but love taxes as long as it is their tax and spending, I figure then it makes sense in a tea party kind of logic.
Brown is a buffoon, however, I have yet to see a Republican act in the way they campaigned or ever campaign.
The above comment comes from a partisan who condemns someone for not being a member of his party.
ReplyDeleteBrown will not be elected again!
ReplyDeletePhillips is a bit out there on some national issues, but he certainly would be well qualified to be county executive. Yes he did propose the huge tax increase, but that was due to his inexperience and lack of understanding with past county budget accounting practices. Hopefully it was a lesson learned.
ReplyDeleteHayden's a tax raiser. Brown is a tax raiser. If county voters wanted taxes raised for no reason, they could have swung a dead cat and hit 30 Democrats who do it like breathing air. Neither will be elected again. Republicans had a chance and failed to lead.
ReplyDeletePhillips has the personality of a dish rag. He has no chance of beating Brownstain in the primary. But Brown the Clown will be sent packing in the general election as long as the Dems don't screw it up again.
ReplyDeletePhillips certainly is no typical politician, but I won't make the mistake if underestimating him again. If he takes Brown on, he could easily win bc the Rs are disgusted by Brown, too. By the way, it would be a battle of the dish rags bc Brown has the personality of a dish rag, too.
ReplyDeleteBrown has the personality of a douche bag, too..
ReplyDeleteRIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHopefully a better candidate will step forward. Phillips has been a pleasant surprise at times, but he cares nothing at all about the environment or open space - just like Brownie.

ReplyDeleteNonsense. They saw the writing on the wall - that Brown had taken an axe to the budget, and we were still left with slim pickings. Gracedale is sucking us dry for the foreseeable future. We need to stabilize our reserves and increase them - which is the reason for the needed increase.
The Democrats got to sick back and take a breather, while the Republicans bailed Brownie out of the hole. It's nothing to vote for either way.
Phillips was leading the Tin Foil Hats brigade not that long ago. Has he changed his stripes now? I'm not convinced about that observation. Just another flavor of starving county services to death. No thanks Hayden.
ReplyDeletePhillips is a tax and spend Republican. A tea party lunatic that makes no sense. O'Hare's sure things are something you can take to the bank. Just ask county executive Callahan.
ReplyDelete"We need to stabilize our reserves and increase them - which is the reason for the needed increase."
ReplyDeleteThe Republican fanatics always have a reason for "their" tax increases.
Attention officers of the Northampton County Republican Party, Craig DeFranco, Lee Snover, June Vail and Howard Kutzler. I am a Republican. I did NOT vote for John Brown in the last primary, nor did I vote for him in the general election and I will NOT vote for John Brown in the next primary. I suggest that you endorse someone else for County Executive and let John retire from politics.
ReplyDeleteI knew he was incompetent prior to the last election. I was the guy in the Slate Belt who wrote in Pee Wee Herman's name in the Primary election. Check the records. Pee Wee would have been a better County Executive than John Brown, but alas, he is not a resident of Northampton County. Some would call my vote wasted, but the only other choice was John Brown, which is not a choice at all.
I was astonished that Brown was supported in the first place. His arrogance and complete lack of sound judgement are only harming the GOP. Please do a better job of vetting candidates next time.
"Nonsense. They saw the writing on the wall - that Brown had taken an axe to the budget, and we were still left with slim pickings."
ReplyDeleteUtter bullshit. They panicked and Brown got the shakes. Now, the numbers are in and the tax jacking was completely unnecessary and heartless. These Rs are so incredibly stupid, they gave the shiftless ambulance chaser no-show McClueless the right to claim he's a demonstrated tax foe fighting for the county's working poor. He wipes his ass with the working poor. It took a special breed of idiot Rs to make a disgusting figure like him look sympathetic.
Remember what I said about this man in the beginning,,Bernie? Remember how surprised that I should give money to his campaign I don't want to say "I told you so !" as you are smarter than me and can 'murder me intellectually." ? But I do know honest ,forthright folks when I meet them .
ReplyDeletePeter, I gave you credit. You had this guy properly tagged and I did not.
