Brother, Can You Spare a Dime For King Edwin?

Though he's supposed to be the Mayor of Allentown, King Edwin has lot of time to do other things like run for Governor and now, the U.S. Senate. He asked for $5 contributions from grassroots supporters when he wanted to go to Harrisburg, and now is asking grassroots supporters for $5 to go to Washington.

What Pawlowski needs to realize is that he has no grassroots supporters. He sold out to developers like J.B. Reilly a long time ago. They might buy him office in Allentown, where democracy is dead, but he is despised outside of his little NIZ bubble.

Not so deep down, he knows this. But running for a never-ending succession of offices gives him an excuse to raise money for his friend Michael Fleck, who also just happens to be a business consultant.

  2. How come you didn't cover the BM's 1st round K.O over the Lehigh County D.A?

  3. There was no first round knock out. There was pralvargument on preliminary objections, and my guess is he will lose. He flat out lied. That's what defamers do.

Maybe this explains why he doesn't have time to maintain Allentown's parks and pools. Bernie, do you realize the major city pool that is enjoyed by more center city kids than any other is now broken for the entire summer! Where are these kids to swim? Cool off in the 100 degree heat? How shameful. Why isn't there a crew there working 24/7 to repair that pool?

  6. What Ed needs to do is put the city pool's in the NIZ and figure out a way his buddy JB can make a buck on it, maybe then they would get fixed and the kids would have a place to go this summer.

    Really is shameful

  7. Penguins prefer cool temperatures. He does not go outside in 100 degree heat.

  8. I doubt Pawlowski could win the LV let alone the State. The State Democratic meeting in Allentown was poorly attended and many notables stayed away. Plenty of desserts for team Fleck. He is political poison for Presidential Candidates.

  9. Ed resting on the NIZ isn't going to get him anywhere. The NIZ idea is despised everywhere outside Allentown. Without the NIZ, he's just another anonymous mayor of some city in PA most have never been too. Love or hate Toomey, he'd embarrass Ed in a contest. It's not 2008 anymore where a fringy candidate had a shot.

  10. Ed must have a huge ego if he thinks he has any chance of beating Admiral Joe in the primary. He has the charisma of a pet rock and resembles Danny Davito on steroids. Dems have surrendered the Toomey seat with two weak candidates.

  11. Ed = NIZ = Institutional Theft = Would rather vote for bin Laden than the Lehigh Valley's second biggest asshole (Panto still holds the crown).

  12. 12:18AM Please start your own blog, and post your Bowel Movement nonsense there, instead of resorting to attempting to hijack threads here. Nobody gives a crap about The Lehigh Valley Bowel Movement - as evidenced by nobody covering his hearing.

  15. When you talk about pools in Allentown the closing of pools is not just a Pawlowski thing ... There were once pools in Keck, Roosevelt and River Front/Buck Boyle Parks in Allentown ... These pools being removed in the Daddona Administration ... For the moment Fountain and Cedar Beach are closed in the Pawlowski Administration ... So currently Allentown has three pools in operation --- Mack, Jordan and Irving Park/Andre Reed ... The former Irving Park pool is interesting because we of the East Side never had a chance to celebrate its 50th Anniversary as the Daddona Administration had it closed without a statement that it would ever be repaired ... So I led an effort to bring it back and we were ultimately successfully when a coalition of members on Allentown City Council led by Barbara Irvine and Watson Skinner brought the Irving Park pool back to life when we agreed to allow Irving to become a paid pool. The Irving Park Pool built with Trexler Funds was a free pool previous to that. Irving Pool today is the only pool East of 4th Street the current boundary line for Dieruff High School in Center City... We are very happy that we saved the Irving Park Pool although as of June 23 the name of Irving Street PArk which was also a Trexler Estate funded Park is now changed to Andre Reed ... And I am amazed how the City cleaned up the Park for that PR moment ... It almost makes me want to have the Park renamed monthly so this clean up would continue every month ..... Dennis Pearson

  16. Fleck is toxic and keeps blowing smoke up the Penguins arse, telling him he can win any office. Maybe they should have a conversation with Don Cunningham.

  17. Did "Chicago Eddy" Pawlowski ever even *try* to refute the campaign funds laundering you reported here?

Keep up the good work. Allentown municipal government would be in a lot worse shape without you...

  18. I don't have anything against Ed P. as a mayor but I couldn't vote for someone who's neck has been consumed by the rest of his body. Ed, man, you need to cut the calories if you want a future in politics. You look like a troll or some other creature.

That's not true. I love whats happening in downtown Allentown. The rest of the city? Not so much. (From Bethlehem)
