The Bob Birk Show

Robert Birk
Though he was a no-show at the candidates' night hosted by Republicans on Thursday night, Bethlehem Township Commissioner candidate Bob Birk made a guest appearance at a Township Board meeting on Monday night. He arrived fashionably late, while people were still weighing in on different topics during courtesy of the floor. He was perspiring, which is a tad unusual because he's unemployed. Birk wanted to address the Board, too, but they were already past him on his side of the room. So he popped over to the other side and positioned himself to drop his pearls of wisdom.

When it was his turn, he got and basically told the Board they are doing a lousy job.

Birk, a former Commissioner, has tried three times to get an appointment to Northampton County Council. He, along with Paul Weiss, are running for Marty Zawarski's seat.

  3. Jim Gregory will be home soon. Heard he plans on going back to political consultation. If that is accurate he can help guys like this get elected. He may even be party of Ron Angle's team this Fall.

His resume is very strong on those he helped get elected.

I would love to be able to read his letters. However, your goi8ng after Tricia ended our ability to read about his life.

  4. Bob was actually one of the good Commissioners back in the day. He was all about good government and made sure that things ran smoothly and people were being taken care of. He would be a breath of fresh air compared to Zaworski!

  5. Why do you use the most unflattering picture possible, is it because you fear Bob Birk will turn Marty zawaeski into a meyaphogical eunuch, using words to fly like shears straight into his
    Breeches?

Bob Birk is a big bad boss who begs you be more bening

  6. Actually, I used the most flattering pic. The others were worse. If Birk cared one bit about good government, he would have been at that debate and would have shared his views. Instead, he hid under a rock with the other rats.

Having heard him here and in his three applications to Council, I already know he is a bad candidate, even without the rats. But last night was simply amazing. His shirt was hanging our and dirty, and to be honest, he smelled. I don't think he won any votes and may have lost a few. At least I hope so.

  9. Bernie you have always been a supporter of Paul Weiss, how do you feel about him now? And Don't fall for "He was sick BS".

  10. I believe Paul is a good guy, but he's running too soon after his loss. I don't think his heart is in it, and had hoped he would drop out. I am concerned that Weiss and Zawarski will take votes from each other and let Birk in. He may have been ill, but if he had time to tell rt Murphy, he should have had time to tell Lee Snover, who was running the debate. He should try again when his heart is in it.

  11. Bernie, I respect your opinion and feel the same way. He did nothing to get re-elected last time and it appears he is doing the same again.
Hopefully he reconsiders and does the right thing.

  12. Isn't Birk the guy who ran for county council many years ago. I think he ran at large and got a nomination but then dropped off the ticket so businessman Jack Bradt could run.

The rumor at the time was Bradt lost in the primary and made Birk "an offer he couldn't refuse" to drop out and have the Republican committee give him the nomination.

Pretty sure that is the story.
