I Get Lucky at Brown's State of the County

Some people attended John Brown's State of the County address at Northampton Community College because they want to know what the hell he's doing. I was there for the babes. It was pretty much a snooze fest. Most of the audience was still asleep as I left. I'll have more about Brown's address later.

I lucked out. I got to speak with our very own Lady of Lebanon, Marta Gabriel. She even sat next to me. Unfortunately, she had to leave early. Something about getting a PFA.

My blogging intern, Glenn Geissinger, snapped this shot. He apologized that it's a little dark, but I fired him anyway. I have my standards, damn it!

As I left, Easton Mayor Sal Panto was in the parking lot, writing up tickets.

  2. "Brown Underwear" speaks about how the tax base has stayed stagnant over the past 7-8 years. Why is the tax base not generating more revenue with all the devlopement that Northampton County has scene over the last 20 + years and its still growing ? He even mentioned it at his Breakfast this morning. ?? Could it be that our "elected Officials" have sold the taxpayers out and given to many tax defered privledges to get their business buddies a way to build new facilities? What happens when these tax defered properties become 15-20 years old and come off the tax defered status? I bet they will leave or ask for the same BS tax defered status again, leaving the taxpayers that live here in more dire need of help than before with the county budget. Remember , these politians state that new growth is good, but what good is it if the taxpayer is left holding the bill when these businesses don't directly pay into the tax base?

  7. Did Brown mention anything about the impending release of Gregory? He will be a valuable addition to his cabinet once he is available.
