Good Samaritan Rewarded With Bullet to the Head in Easton

A good samaritan who was trying to help a troubled man get off the streets has been rewarded with the bullet to the head. Jeffrey Knoble, Jr., age 25, was charged today with homicide, robbery and a weapons offense for the shooting death of Andrew "Beep" White. His body was found on March 11, face down and stripped, at Room 418 of Easton's Quality Inn. White had just rented out the room. Law enforcement officials state there is no evidence of a "domestic angle." District Attorney John Morganelli, who announced the charges, stated that the victim was "well regarded" and "all he was doing was trying to help a guy out."

White had previously been described as a "shining star" of the Easton Boys and Girls Club by its Executive Director, Dean Young.

On March 11, between 6:30 and 7 am, Lori Knoble received a call from her son, Jeffrey, stating he had just shot someone and was on his way over. When he failed to appear, she went looking for him and found him at the ijntersection of 10th and Northampton in Easton. At that time, he showed her video of a man, face down, in what appeared to be a pool of blood. He told her he had stripped the man and shot him in the back of the head. She dropped her son off at 4th and Northampton, and then contacted police.

Knoble was ultimately taken into custody that afternoon, after a brief standoff at his mother's home. While there, they located two cell phones and a semi-automatic 40 caliber gun. That gun has been identified by Pennsylvania State Police as the weapon used to kill both White and a suspected gang member in New Jersey. Knoble acquired the gun from from Tyquan Adon Emmons, a suspected Brims gang member who is also in custody at this time.

Easton Inspector Dan Reagan is looking for anyone who can provide information about Knoble's activity that day, and can be reached at 610-250-6635.

First Deputy DA Terrence Houck, who will be handling this prosecution, declined to state whether Knoble has provided a statement to police. He acknowledged that the robbery is an aggravating factor that would justify the death penalty, but added that it's too early to state whether the death penalty will be sought.

White's sister arrived during the news conference announcing the charges, and sat silently as the prosecution team pieced the story together.

  3. @3:32PM That's crazy talk. Wolf will be long gone by the year and day this guy would be executed. Wolf's action has no effect on prosecutions.

  6. This is a story about a good man who lost his life for trying to be helpful. I cannot say that remarks about the death penalty are out of place or tasteless. I can say that Mezzacappa's anonymous attempt to make this about her is disgusting.

  7. Bernie ,I do know some real Samaritans, but knowing nothing about this poor sole, He rents a room?Pays money that is his ,for another person, for what purpose? He knows this jailbird is not lawful. I like others have helped people ,but I don't move in with them > limits? Again what was he doing that got him killed? See-- here in Easton there is a very high frequency of premature death rate among non-tax payers,.

  9. I would be very surprised if there was no sexual aspect to this case, sad either way some people cannot deal with muddled sexuality and lash out after an encounter.

Beep was a good dude RIP.

Do you have no shame, Mezzacappa? You are so self centered that you attempt to hijack this thread to feed your obsession with Bernie? An innocent man was MURDERED. You SUCK. Write your nonsense on your own blog.
