Pardon Me, Judge Roscioli, For I Have Sinned ...

Yesterday, as is my wont, I took a quick trip to the law library. I sit there ten minutes a day, hoping some knowledge sinks in. I don't read the law books. That's cheating. Anyhoo, when the elevator door opened, it was just as a Judge Paula Roscioli procession was promenading down the hall. Because I was not paying much attention and usually charge out of elevators like an inconsiderate jackass, I very nearly bowled her over.

Uh oh.

I expected to be shot. But because Roscili was on the cell phone, she apparently thought she was at fault for me nearly running into her, and apologized to me.

"That's quite alright,"  I magnanimously replied, and took off before someone filled her in.

Ten minutes later, as I left the stacks, some folks getting onto the elevator spied me and politely asked, "Going down?"

"Eventually," was my reply.

  1. I didn't quite understand this post, Bernie, and I am somewhat familiar with Roscioli, and the courthouse. Maybe you had to be there?

  2. It is just humor. In your case, looks like I failed.

  3. For those who ever seen Judge Roscioli escorted from the secured chambers to her courtroom, it is funny. I doubt the Queen of England has as much personal protection.

  4. Let's be fair. I don't think any of the judges feet touches the ground when they walk.

  5. The humor is Bernie sitting in a law library. A disbarred lawyer passing judgement on others! Now that is funny!
