AAUW Offering Scholarships

The Easton Branch of the American Association of University Women is offering scholarships to young women from area high schools planning to attend a four-year accredited college or university. Applicants must be high school seniors in the top 20 percent of their class.

Scholarships are also being offered to women whose college education was interrupted and now wish to return to college to complete their degree. All scholarships are awarded based on financial need and academic merit. Application forms are available online at http://easton-pa.aauw.net. For more information, please call Debra Ashton-Chase at 610-253-4678.

I know some young ladies who were really helped by this scholarship, and would recommend it to anyone who has a daughter eyeing up a four-year degree.

Scholarships are funded by the annual AAUW Book Fair. For information concerning membership in AAUW, contact Nancy Berry at 610-252-3332.

Scholarship Co-Chairs: Louise Sipos, 610-258-1554 or Debra Ashton-Chase, 610-253-4678

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
