Grand Jury: State AG Committed Perjury!

A state Grand Jury has recommended perjury and contempt of court charges against Kathleen Kane, according to The Pittsburgh Tribune. She's accused of leaking secret Grand Jury matters to a newspaper as part of her war with prosecutors who worked under former AG Tom Corbett.

If Montgomery County DA Risa Vetri Ferman, a Republican, decides to file charges, Kane will be the second Pa. Attorney General in recent history to dace criminal charges. Ernie Preate, pleaded guilty to corruption charges in 1995 and was forced to resign.

I believe it is time for Kane to step down. I voted for Kane, but doing so was a mistake. She simply was in over her head, and seems to be caught up in some sort of personal vendetta with former Corbett prosecutor Frank Fina. Along the way, she seems to have lost sight of her responsibilities as the state's top prosecutor.

Under the Pa. Constitution, Governor Tom Wolf can appoint a successor.

John Morganelli should get the job.

  3. She's disgusting. I want a frog walk. Morganelli has been rejected by voters several times. There have to be better candidates.

  4. I'll have more to say about the guy you claim has no chance tomorrow

  5. Perfectly summarized, Bernie...in over her head...from day one.

  6. Shouldn't it be little fish, big pond?

  7. If Wolf appoints Philly DA Seth Williams, Democrats will have the governor's mansion for 16 years. Seth Williams stood up to Kane and would garner a lot of R votes. He's a better and politically wiser pick than John.

  8. I have to agree with you on this one Bernie. I voted for Kane also - and I have reluctantly decided she isn't fit for the job. I hope Wolf finds a good person to replace her - the indications are she is one step away from the door.

  9. Didn't Morganelli enable a local Borough council President in a scheme to illegally disseminate confidential LTCF applications?

  10. No. He instead authorized the prosecution of a cyber bully who threatened to kill that boro council president, harassed a poor boro clerk who was only doing her job and impersonated a West Easton resident to dishonestly claim support she lacked. This troll, everyone knws, is common scold Tricia Mezzacappa. Her lies have resulted in a $70k defamation verdict against her. And it is Mezzacappa herself who eneabled dissemination of her confidential LTCF application, with mass emails about them. It is also Mezzacappa who lost a bid to force the DA to play her game of vindictive prosecution. Anfd it is the same Mezzacappa who has yet to pay a dime on her most recent harassment prosecution.

  11. She has been an embarrassment from day one. I lost all respect for her when she halted the bribery probe into the philly pols on the basis of racism. Seth Williams has indicted 3 of the pols originally under investigation and I'm sure there are more to follow. I agree Seth would be an excellent choice, but I wouldn't discount John Morganelli. John was an early Wolf supporter, and he had a respectful result in the '08 race with little name recognition.

  12. Kick Kane out now and charge her!! No to Morganelli too, he is waaaaaay to ego driven but not anywhere near as much as Martin. If Morganelli got it there would be news conferences and Nancy Grace programs every night. LOL....But at least Morganelli would have honor within his office.

  13. I'd hate to see Morganelli leave NorCo. Who did you think would replace Morganelli and how would that occur?

  14. If John goes, his First Assistant is his logical successor. But that talk is premature.

  15. Morganelli is a slippery as Kane. Isn't gonna happen but thanks for playing. Using Grand Juries for political infighting not good. Wolf is smarter than that. One political favor at a time.

  16. Can we get a grand jury and our own DA to file criminal charges and oust John Brown? He used public money for policial gain. That is a criminal offense.

  17. You voted for Obama but you now say you regret that. You voted for Kane and now say you regret that, too.

Time to stop voting Democrat yet?

  18. I voted for Obama once, not twice. I voted for some Rs and I have regretted that, too. Ernie preate, another disgraced AG, was an R. But I will agree that I am an idiot.

  19. The Republicans are going waiting to pounce on this and compare her to Hillary.
Sadly I voted for this nut case also

  20. Ya well, it will be Tom Wolf that will lose sight too. The AG is now separated, she could hang out on the beach ,she does not have to work !I see a disaster coming. This is my opinion.Wolf will 'socialize ' us and that does not work among old Dutchmen!
