You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
He should! He is the only honorable Republican victor.
ReplyDeleteWould he do that just to make a Dem look bad? Which one would take it on the chin? This is really poor political theater, with a joker as the puppet master.
ReplyDeleteHe will probably not sign it and let it just go into effect.
ReplyDeleteScott Parsons said he would override the veto several weeks ago. Old news here
ReplyDeleteRECALL! RECALL! RECALL!!
ReplyDeleteLet's discuss this over dinner at Allentown Shula's. They should be lowering prices due to their NIZ tax break.
ReplyDeleteIf republicans true republicans that is, know one thing it is that bills HAVE to be paid. The do also know they have to tighten their belts and most of them apply this in their homes. It's called living within your means and we aren't seeing this anywhere today.
ReplyDeleteThis council knows it has to pay for the damage done in past years. Democrats want every service for anyone and republicans rather see those who can have a job and be self reliant. Either one is good for party votes not to mention how society is affected. As a conservative I can see that this money is needed. The people working for the county should be in full support of this. Pay a little bit now to insure you get you paycheck if we run into a fiscal crisis and it is on the horizon. Let's hope it doesn't happen but this is in part insurance for these employees. They work they deserve to be paid. Brown needs to let this go and it really is not enough at 1 mil. Just my 2 cents worth. Bless you Bernie for making my job to prove I am not a robot easy.
Will all department heads be getting a car to drive back and forth to work with the tax increase?
ReplyDelete6:40AM - Not sure about what Parsons said "several weeks ago," when the tax rate increase wasn't in place and the mount not known, but there is this from the E-T two days ago, quoting him from last week: "Councilman Scott Parsons said Wednesday he would support a 0.5-mill tax increase but no higher."
ReplyDeleteSo much for "Old news here." Sounds like you are just trying to be critical of Bernie's reporting. Didn't work.
MC reports that Brown will not veto. Council's tax hike gets him off the hook for an irresponsible budget that would have drained the counties reserves to a dangerously low level.
ReplyDeleteMC reports it is unlikely, and it is unlikely. But I will wait to hear it from Brown's mouth.

ReplyDeleteSo Reilly poaches another business, and after he said he would stop. This business owner, who sells $1,000,000,000,000,000 steaks, claims he's following his heart, which must be made out of money.
Republican council first order of business is raise taxes after demonizing Democrats for same.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder they love Faux News.
They are hypocrites with this tax increase, as are their apologist t-baggers.
ReplyDeleteBrown passes on McClure's dare. Away we go..
