You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
In general, I would say that the local police departments have resisted the awful trend of recent years toward militarization. Every time I have had any contact with the Bethlehem police, they are balanced and appropriate in their behavior. Not familiar with Easton, but have no info to the contrary.
ReplyDeleteAgreed that the larger forces tend to be less militaristic.
ReplyDeleteShould be interesting. Many questions.
ReplyDeleteI believe they reported Palmer has those involved on active duty.
ReplyDeleteThis was a pure profiling act, we all know rednecks in pickup trucks are only looking for trouble in the big city!
ReplyDeleteIn a related issue, I just now noticed that the fellow Kessler who was chief of one of the small towns nearby and put out those rancid ranting videos pretending to be some sort of far-right nut has been outed as deliberately trying to attract such people in order to turn them in. Sorta a case of manufacturing the problem and then getting patted on the head for bringing it to law enforecement attention. Look on Drudge report.
