  1. After reading most of that report, I noticed on one of the last pages that Karen Dolan is on the LV Planning Commission. When did that quietly happen?

  2. She had been on for several years. Not anymore.

  3. Speaking of sustainable Lehigh Valley, readers should check out "NIZney World" on the 700 block of Hamilton Street. Its the only block in the City with evergreens/ornaments hung on light poles and Frank Sinatra Christmas songs playing from hidden speakers. Its like a Norman Rockwell painting down there. If hockey fans put on blinders as they drive in from the suburbs, they will find one block of sustainable Lehigh Valley that all people in this region should get excited about.

All kidding about the tacky/phony seasonal ambiance aside, Democrats Ed Pawlowski and Pat Browne deserve recognition for starting up something new and exciting in downtown Allentown.
Can't wait for the next hockey night!

  4. One thing that does not make sense. Why only Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton? There's a lot of people outside of those three communities. Easton is not that big anymore. Whitehall is bigger Maybe Beth township is bigger.

  5. Not another regional report at the cost of thousands upon thousands of dollars to the taxpayers. I am sure the praise and glory meeting attenders of the acronym agencies in the Valley will be out in force to sing the benefits of regionalism, again. This is more wasting of taxpayer money. There are plenty of plans on the books calling for "one" so called Lehigh Valley. Why not implement them instead of paying money to say the same thing over?? Bernie, by the way... check out all the new hiring at the LVPC and the quite forced exodus of some of the workhorse staff.

  6. Have you read it? I have and it includes some good ideas. In my opinion, it fails to pay enough attention to the smaller communities. As for the LVPC, I have heard nothing but good things about becky bradley. oes on there. Northampton County's representation on the LVPC, however, is spotty. Seth Vaughn has missed nearly every meeting and has yet to say a word about what goes on there. I have no idea whether people are leaving or why.

  8. Becky Rocks and LVPC is very proactive. The fact that we are even talking about this suggests they are engaging the public. The Envision grant was weighted to the Cities because of the HUD grant. However, I do believe LVPC has made tremendous effort to expand their reach beyond the Cities.
