LV Jewish Federation Condemns Senseless Slaughter of Four Rabbis
“The Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley sends its deepest condolences to the families and friends of those murdered in the terror attack that took place earlier today at a west Jerusalem synagogue. We pray for the recovery of those wounded in the attack.
Four rabbis, including Rabbi Moshe Twersky, grandson of renowned Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, a dominant American Jewish leader for over 50 years, were senselessly murdered in today's attack.
The recent wave of Palestinian terror attacks in Israel is outrageous and completely unacceptable, but today's attack on innocent people praying in a synagogue is incomprehensible. We pray that the authorities will do everything they can to put an end to the incitement and will find a solution to curb escalating tension in Jerusalem and the rest of the country.
We thank President Barack Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry, and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro for their swift and strong condemnation of the attack. The support of the U.S. Administration in these harsh times serves as a reminder of the unbreakable bond that exists between our nations.
At the same time, we condemn in the strongest terms the statements by Hamas, which celebrated today's attack and called for further terrorist attacks against Jews. While Palestinian Authority President Abbas did condemn today's attack, it was offered in the context of his having already incited violence by his libelous statements that Jews were contaminating Muslim holy sites and his Fatah‐controlled broadcast media glorifying today's attackers as martyrs and heroes. We ask for the international community to unite and demand that the Palestinian Authority and Hamas put an immediate end to its campaign of libel and incitement. Responsible language and actions by Palestinian and Israeli leaders will help calm the tensions and bring about reasoned dialogue.
We encourage people of all faiths to voice their rejection to the violent attack that took place this morning in Jerusalem. May the families of the victims and may peace and tranquility be restored to the residents of Jerusalem.”

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
I am getting sick and tired of all this pussyfooting around with these muslim extremists. Throw non citizens out of the country and place surveillance on their mosque's. They hate the west and America.
ReplyDeleteFrankly there was a time I was sympathetic to their plight. Now I think they really want a Holy
War. Maybe the time has come to tell the Saudis, who backed the 9-11 attacks, to get their house in order in their neck of the woods or we will tactically nuke the damn place and take over their oil.
End of story. Enough with the bullshit.
The US left from the White House down despises religious zealots - except for murderous Muslims - where they sit quietly and refuse to even call radical Islam by its name. So deep is their antisemitism.
ReplyDeleteWhy cant we all just get along?
ReplyDelete@5:44 and 6:01, israel had no choice but to respond to civilian areas in gaza, because that is where hamas purposefully embedded their missiles.
ReplyDeletethere is no comparison between that mosque attack in the 1980's and now. while the palestinians celebrated yesterday's attack with sweets, israel and the jews were ashamed of the mosque attack. the group which the gunman affiliated himself with was outlawed. he's no hero, there are no shrines, but you're just one of many anti-semites always looking to justify terrorism against israel
And... where is the condemnation by our Muslim groups/churches across the Lehigh Valley??? What I want to know is why. Why do the LV Muslims not make a statement condemning this senseless violence. If they don't, they must support it. Agree with 1:38.
ReplyDeleteThe usual anti-Semitic remarks and venom spewed at MM, by the Blog Mentor, have been deleted. We have our own little Nazi. He can save his bile for WAEB. Oh, I forgot, he was too nutty even for Bobby Gunther Walsh and has been banned.
ReplyDelete"If they don't, they must support it"
ReplyDeleteMost Muslims disassociate themselves from the hatred and are becoming more vocal about it. This is so especially since ISIS became so prominent. I am not going to tolerate comments condemning Jews or Muslims. Mmmk? Also, the Blog Mentor's tiring but usual snipes at MM will be deleted. He can post his hate on his own blog, and if that is not enough, can add it to the letters from Jim Gregory that TM posts on her screeds.
Pretty much expected that this group would find the slaughter disturbing. I for one an waiting to hear from Muslim groups, making this same statement.
ReplyDeleteWon't hold my breath though.

Anon 4:42, Really?? Yawn. The teabagging is going to your brain.
ReplyDeleteOh stop it. Progressive = antisemite. This is widely known. Be proud fleabagger. Occupy your hatred of Jews.
ReplyDeleteIf it is the Progressives who equal antisemites, then why should the "fleabaggers" be proud?
