Devin Amador, Northeast Middle School, is ready to ring the bell. |
Incoming Freshman and outgoing Seniors each tolled the Liberty-Freedom bell three times. That bell is awarded annually to Liberty or Freedom High School, depending on which school wins the most athletic contests between the two.
Senior Emily Cecchini, who has been accepted into the Naval Academy, listens to the tintintabulation of the bell.
The Liberty Grenadier Marching Band displays some of that "organized chaos."
Juniors Tejya Johnson and Chelsea DeFrancisco are looking for a few field hockey players.
The funny thing is that Freedom hasn't won "The Bell" in something like 20 years. Not much of a competition.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how that is supposed to be funny. The Freedom kids work just as hard as the Liberty kids. But when you have a district that is totally tilted toward Liberty with 3,000 students and 1,800 students at Freedom, it's tough to compete.
ReplyDeleteWaaaaaaa! LOL

ReplyDeleteFreedom won the game in 2011.
they won a football game, not the bell. freedom has't won the bell since Reagan was in office.
ReplyDeleteFHS is a very good school and it's enrollment should skyrocket with that new Madison Farms Development in BT. Then look out!
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, Beca is working on top secret plans to steal the bell, melt it down, and cast a real golden hawk. Either that or a bronze bust of Abe Atiyeh.
Liberty sucks!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that the BASD Admin doesn't give FHS the same chances to succeed in Athletics as Liberty. How is FHS supposed to compete against a school with a 1,500 more students? Change the boundaries and make things fare and even!
