Charlie Dent Hailed as Fiscal Hero

"Fix the Debt" is a non-partisan movement led by heavyweights like former Senator Alan Simpson, Erskine Bowles, former Governor Ed Rendell and former Mayor Michael Bloomberg. PoliticsPA is reporting that this group has honored Lehigh Valley Congressman Charlie Dent as a "Fiscal Hero" for using his position in the House, particularly on the Appropriations Committee, to reduce the national debt.

Dent is one of 31 other Congressmen so honored.

According to Dent, discretionary federal spending has gone down in each of the last four years.

  1. Now if he can stop kissing the ass of the extreme right wing , he could be a very good legislator.

He needs to stand up for responsible tax laws, gun laws and infrastructure improvements.

That is the real test, not some insiders contest.

  4. Mr. Dent is a practical politician and has done very well representing his constituents and the American people. Other representative should take heed of his honesty.I for one have been for severe penalties of the unscrupulous, to include hangings! Mr. Dent has proved to me so far that he has the interest of the Nation ,our constitutional values and our people. OLD Cranky tax payer PETER.Our President's message at the West Point is full of holes. This President does not have a clue about the truth,or what that means ,too bad.

  5. One look at a map of the worst Gerrymandered Congressional District in the state will tell you all you need to know about Charlie Dent and all politics. He doesn't even know how to get to Hershey and he's running unopposed. Is it any wonder people despise politics and government types more than hemorrhoids?

    Hailed, indeed.

And, Ol' Pete: I get your riff on Ritter, but Chuckie's milking both the state and federal teats. A lifer at teh trough. Not a short curly of difference between them.

  10. Mr. Delbacco was on Ch. 69 tonight explaining how Charlie Dent has strayed for form the core Republican [principles. He said the official Republican position is not the position Dent now endorsees.

Who knows, maybe Dent will have a real strong and right Republican challenger next time around.

  11. Del Wacko probably neglected to mention that Matt Dietz, whom he supported for Congress, is also an advocate of gay marriage. Or that two of the people in his cabal are a gay couple. He's a hypocrite who is looking for attention.
