McClure Claims Zosky Contract May Be Illegal
According to McClure, Brown needed Council's approval before entering into negotiations with Zosky; would have to establish that hers is the only professional consultancy that could provide these services; and must competitively bid all professional service contracts in excess of $100,000.
Here's the McClure Letter.

Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. DUH...
ReplyDeleteFirst time in my life I've ever said, "God Bless Lamont McClure" and actually meant it!
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with these politicians? It must be real easy to spend other peoples money. This requirement should be competitively bid --- same as the ambulance service for Northampton County. Write up the required specifications and give it to the Purchasing Agent and let him do his thing.
ReplyDeleteActually professional services contracts do not have to be bid.
ReplyDeleteWow McClure is actually making some sense.

Anon 2:59, you are correct, but they all must go through an RFP process also called competitive negotiation. Mr. Brown did not do that and is violating the law.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think these people run for?
ReplyDeleteThere's a big ole pot o money at the end of the rainbow to give to your friends.
ReplyDeleteYou all need to go easy on Mr Brown. My bet is he has no idea what he is doing. Instead, he is just doing what his money men who supported his election are telling him to do.
ReplyDeleteI just can't figure out what the connection is to Deana Zosky. She is a big left wing Democrat. Is it really JB pulling the strings?
Wish I knew. Some say Andy Daub and Chip McAtigue(sp?) Who knows?
Agree with McClure finally making sense on something. $715,000 is too big of a number not to have put this out to bid. The bigger question might be what does John Brown owe Tom Garrity, the Managing Partner of Compass Point, where Deanna is employed. Tom Garrity has his tentacles all over the place and several pockets of folks in the Valley. Scary notion...
ReplyDeleteEarl Gray is right.......Brown does not know what he is doing. He should hire a Director of administration that has some experience in County Government to help him stay within the law. He is no different than any other individual who served as Executive who did not first serve on Council. H has no experience and will make horrible mistakes unless he brings people on board with experience.
ReplyDeleteThis is how one makes $$$ working for the Government. It's called 'Kickbacks'.This is how it works/nothing new under the sun.It would seem Berie saved the taxpayers some scratch
