Howard Kutzler Going to South Whitehall Township
In a late Friday afternoon memo, Hammer reports that Kutzler will start in South Whitehall Township on November 4 as their Director of Administration. He'll be taking over Tony Ganguzza's job as he transitions to part time status.
On October 8, I told you that Kutzler was resigning as Bethlehem Township Manager. He denies his decision has anything to do with politics. But I wonder.
In the primary, long-time Commissioner Paul Weiss was defeated by two candidates backed by developer Abe Atiyeh. One of his employees, Mickey Thompson, is running for Michael Hudak's seat. Atiyeh helped elect Felix "Phil" Bernard and Marty Zawarski. It is all but certain that, come November, Atiyeh will be in effective control of Bethlehem Township government.

Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
All these township manager positions seem to have some incest involved. Any new people ever get the job?
ReplyDeletemaybe he just moved because it was a better decision for his future. you only posted this out of your hate foe abe. you are such a shallow little boy.
ReplyDeleteapparently TM was correct about your motives and abilities
to anon 2:35 apply for the Bethlehem Township job, its open.
ReplyDeletePS: What coup for South Whitehall too! Picking up a season staffer at little to no cost!! Some very shrewd business people over there. Its nice to see local government acting more business like. To bad Bethlehem Township will have to now go out and find someone and take a chance with that like hiring anon 2:35
ReplyDelete%:40, That's bc you are TM or her Blog Mentor.
ReplyDeleteI actually like Abe, but I don't like it when anyone tries to take over in a democracy, whether it is King Edwin in Allentown or Abe in BT
It has been rumored that lighthouse was Mr. Hammer, and I always wondered how he seemed so well informed knowing issues that we're not known to most. I guess Howard was feeding him information. I guess Lighthouse comments will come to a slowdown now that he doesn't have his source.
ReplyDeleteThis now makes me question everyone and their motives. And I thought Howard was above board. Silly me.
Actually brilliant for South Whitehall, and very sad for Bethlehem Township. Kutzler is well respected throughout the Valley, and is a great get for South Whitehall. This Atiyeh thing will bring BT back to the dark ages. Hammer again proves why he is the best in the Valley , Allentown city workers still want him to come back and run for mayor.
ReplyDelete7:46, I know who Lighthouse is, and you are way off. You really want to find out bc he has McClure's number.
ReplyDeleteThey must pay well.
ReplyDeletePeople, connect the dots. Hammer is leaving South Whitehall to work with either Muller, Ott, Callahan or Donchez. I'm sure we will know shortly after November 4th. Kutzler is the successor, again.
ReplyDeleteAnd you hacks think only Abe is making moves. These pols are just like him.
ReplyDelete8:10, For one thing, Hammer is nonpolitical. For another, he would not be paid as well. He makes $104k or more as Township Manager, with none of the stress of being under the spotlight. He would also go into a world of employment insecurity, where he would be at-will instead of having a contract. So I think you're guess is far fetched.
ReplyDelete8:01 bernie , I still believe he was fed information because of the manor of his comments. He knew things he shouldn't have known
ReplyDeleteYou're gonna' have to keep guessing bc you are dead wrong. I see where you might feel that way. Hammer, like Lighthouse, is intelligent, reflective and perceptive. But you are mistaken. And I am certainly not going to out the person, who does live AND VOTE in Northampton County.
ReplyDeleteWhen Hammer was BT Manager, his record of communicating with others was poor, at best. He played his cards close to the vest, and didn't let anyone in.
ReplyDeleteKinda' like how you don't identify yourself.
ReplyDeleteThe question is "Does John Brown have Any qualifications to run a $350,000,000.00 Budget?"
ReplyDeleteKutzler is A-OK, A Northampton High Konkrete Kid,just like Ron Heckman and Karl Longenbach. NHS guys are the best!!
ReplyDeleteIs Northampton High School, "Konkrete Kids" a racist term??
ReplyDeleteAbout as racist as naming the ironpigs mascot pork chop. That one still burns me that they didn't pick the most popular name because some people thought it was "offensive". In that case I want cracker jacks to change its name.
DeleteI sent an email once to Jon Hammer when he was in BT. He replied and was very professional and courteous.
ReplyDeleteI sent an email to Howard Kutzler too when he was manager. No reply whatsoever. Crickets. Still waiting, Howard.
anon 9:16 that is a jerky thing to say. Did you ever follow up? Maybe your silly email did not reach its destination? Crickets. Still waiting, anon.
ReplyDeleteBT, you lose! Back to the 70's and early 80's for you..now two people will have to be hired for the job of one professional, courteous, and well like gentleman in the community.
ReplyDeleteBT is losing a good man, some people didn't like that he treated everyone the same , they all had to follow the same rules. As to why he is leaving, maybe he has just run his course and was looking for something new.
