Cuckoo Court This Friday

As most of you know, embattled Bethlehem Mayoral candidate and lounge singer Jim Gregory is currently a guest at the Northampton County jail. His sidekick, Tricia Mezzacappa, took it upon herself to harass and try to intimidate both a judge and two women who were victimized by Gregory.  But he really has only himself to blame. He is at Casa Northampton because he thumbed his nose at a temporary Protection From Abuse Act Order (PFA) issued in May by Senior Judge Lawrence Brenner. Before the ink was dry, Gregory was contacting his ex, directly and indirectly, through Facebook, blogs, emails and phone texts. He would alternatively threaten and woo her. He was cited for contempt three times before the final PFA was even issued. In addition, his sister sought and obtained a PFA.  Gregory has been sentenced to six months in jail, although Judge Zito hinted he might release him on parole after he receives a much needed psychological evaluation.

So that's it, right?

Not yet. Gregory's ex filed three contempt citations, but Judge Zito only heard evidence on the first two. The third matter is scheduled for this Friday at 11 AM.

On Friday, a judge will also hear some goofy motion Tricia Mezzaacappa filed against the District Attorney, seeking to have Kelly Gross charged with leaking her application for a LTCF.

It will be Cuckoo Court.

Don't forget to bring a towel.

  1. Will Mr. Gregory be there? They won't embarrass him by having him shackled will they. He is not a danger to anyone. Maybe the judge will hear him out and let him leave jail on Friday.

That would be a very compassionate thing to do, given his unique situation.

  2. What's unique? He is a lying woman beater who intimidated a person in violation of an order and taunted the judge handling his matter, with the help of Tricia Mezzacappa. he hurt two women. He most certainly is a danger to them both. He might soon face charges for invasion of privacy. But if he is ready to accept responsibility for his criminal behavior and expresses remorse for his continued abuse, I'm sure Judge Zito will be impressed. The smartest thing he could do is distance himself from Mezzacappa.

  3. Word is Gregory has a plan for an appeal that may very well be successful. He could be out by Friday night.

  4. "Word is" Gregory has had many plans. None have been successful. He won't be out on Friday night. He's got a date with Bubba.

  5. Gregory will be at the hearing in full prison garb. He will be shackled and handcuffed like the violent predator he has become. He will not get out of prison until he is evaluated and medications prescribed. The Judge may not let him out of prison because it shows weakness and will encourage other offenders to ignore the Judge's instructions. He will continue to sit. The Judge said six months....not six days.

  6. I would expect Jim would have scaled those prison walls and fences by now. He did it when the Governor appeared. He is very athletic. Don't be surprised to hear Jim makek a number of recommendations for improvement of the prison facility while he is in front o the judge.

  8. His behavior at the scheduled hearing this Friday should indicate whether he has taken any responsibility for his actions. In reference to the comment at 1:43 a.m.-He is a danger to the two women who got PFA's against him. The only "unique situation" would be a probable mental illness. It cannot be used as an excuse. His abuse against the two women would only have escalated. He is where he needs to be. His only hope at getting out is using his time wisely to get the counseling and or meds that he appears to need. No more excuses for his behavior. It is now his choice to change or continue on his destructive path.

  9. The Judge could order Jim into the C.E.C. Program. Taxpayers would see a dramatic turn around in his behavior....if he completes the program.

  10. Please someone take a picture of Jim in prison garb and handcuffs. Bob Donchez can use it in his political mailer.
