Express Times Salutes Father Alex
I had told you that Father Alex' was his parish's first parishioner ordained within the last 31 years. But I had that wrong. As Colin correctly reports, Father Alex is actually the first Our Lady parishioner to have ever been ordained as a priest. Thirty-one years ago, there was an ordination, but not to the priesthood. That's when Anthony Koury, whom some of you know as a tipstaff, was ordained a deacon.
I now have an inside connection. I need it.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
If they are Catholic then where is the Bishop of Allentown in this? Maybe they aren't really Catholic.
ReplyDeleteAny cursory research, including just clicking on the link to Our Lady of Lebanon Church, would tell you that these are Maronite Catholics, and are a part of the Roman Catholic Church.
ReplyDeleteHow long did he have to study to be made a priest. I understand they need them and are pushing them through.
ReplyDeleteThis comment, like the first one, comes from the Blog Mentor. He hates Father Alex, regularly defames him, and on the one occasion that he met him, gave Fr. alex an elbow to the gut. He was at the courthouse, and Sheriff Deputies had to escort him away.
ReplyDeleteHe threatened to disrupt Fr. Alex' ordination, threatened to disrupt the first Mass, hs sent numerous emails complaining about Father Alex, all filled with lies. He even complained to the Express Times.
His conduct is so repugnant that Michael Molovinsky, a Jew, felt compelled to publish a blog defending Father Alex, an Arab.
I can think of few people closer to pure evil than the blog mentor. This is why a Catholic priest upsets him so. He hates God.

ReplyDeleteHey Bernie, no hate intended but out of curiosity, how long does anyone have to go to a seminary to become a priest? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteThe Apostles almost three years. Anyone else 2 to 10 years.
ReplyDeletebernie, just for record, growing up many of my school friends were arabs. while easton has a lebanonese maronite community, allentown has syrians, who are greek orthodox.
ReplyDelete@3:36, if you're so curious, why don't you look up the answer yourself? i don't print such questions on my blog.
MM, The most Christian people I know tend to be Jews. And that is one of your problems. You're just too nice to people. I wish you could be more like me.
ReplyDeletemy error at 5:46, should be lebanese, not lebanonese
ReplyDeletetoday i received at least two insulting, harassing comments at my blog, from the blog mentor. he's malicious. while i have received many veiled threats from him over the last several years, he recently took a comment on my blog, which he knows that someone else wrote, and distortedly says that i threatened him. he swears that he didn't elbow alex in the gut,but jokes that alex can take a good ribbing.
Wear the venom and lies he hurls at you like a badge of honor. You have stood up to him and all his attacks. You have stood up for what you believe, while he stands for nothing. You have blown the shofar, sometimes alone, warning people about this menace. He obviously doesn't just hate you. He hates himself. He hates God. He hates everyone. Even innocent Lebanese priests, whose sole sin is to live him. It's never been about his daughter. It's always been about him and his own narcissism. He disgraces her and her memory. Of all the terrible fates I could hope for,the worst of these is to be him. Of all the many disagreeable people I've encountered on the Internet, none is worse than him and his brain-washed wife.
ReplyDeleteRev Mario's message of peace is way better and more easier to understand.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the Fake arev is easier to understand. You might say I see right through him.
ReplyDeleteWhen you write nice articles such as this one about the priest you hardly get any comments. But whwn you write about looney tunes such as Gregory, the ex-Bethlehem drunk fire fighter, Mezzacrazy, Fake Rev, the Blog Mentor. geeting, Maniatty, and on and on you get tons of comments. But here is the weird thing that they smear this priest.
