The Real Reason Barron Supports McClure

Barron von Footinmouth, aka Northampton County Controller Steve Barron, has made a great show of his support for NorCo Exec candidate Lamont McClure. He introduced McClure at the asbestos lawyer's announcement. He also endorsed McClure Over the weekend, I learned why.

Last year, Barron made a call to the Callahan camp, looking for a job, as I'm sure he will try to do again once Callahan is elected. According to someone on the inside, "He called me last year, and very awkwardly tried to tell me he would support Callahan in return for the fiscal affairs position. I told him to go fuck himself."

Given the colorful language used by this insider, many of you might want to take a guess. But I am not confirming it. I have asked Barron for a response, but have not received one.

  1. Was the colorful insider Jim Gregory, you coward?

  2. The insider is someone I know, and so does Barron von Footinmouth.

  3. Actually a Party insider let slip that Co. Party boys pushed his name for Director of Human Services.

  4. Dear 12:15

Why would Jim Gregory have any say as to who is fiscal affairs director?
That is just plain stupid. As far as the insider goes, there is only one person who would respond that way and his first name is definitely Jim, lol
It all doesn't matter. I'd bet my first born that Callahan will not get elected, and in fact he might not even survive the primary. If McClure continues to surge, Callahan can be relegated to third and the foul mouth Hickey won't have a say in anything, except maybe choosing his next pair of matching pajamas.

  5. If Steve wants the job next year, he will have it..Since Callahan's chances of getting elected are about 10,000,00 to one, give or take a million.lol

  6. @ 428- given the evident mental acumen you keenly display, I suspect you're safe-no one's gonna want your first born in any instance.

  7. Gregory, you are backing the nag in this race. McClueless will run a distant second and will be put down along with his stable mate Reibman.

  8. BO,

I enjoy reading your blog every morning. But today I will have to call in sick.

First a post about mcclueless and now one about the leech baron.

This is just too sickening even for my strong constitution

  9. I don't see a county council, even with a majority of Dem's, approving Mr. Barron for either of those Executive positions. he lacks a very important thing, "qualification".

    Come on people.

  10. There is one thing that Barron can take to the bank. That is he will not be Director of Finance for the County. That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. He isn't even qualified to do the job he is in now. Jim Gregory has a better shot at being Director of Human Services and that isn't very good. He may get appointed if he promises to settle his on going dispute with Kathleen Kelly. He secretly admires her and she can open the door to the Directors job for him if he would just be nice to her. He doesn't have to climb any fences for this one. Kiss her ring Jim. She keeps it in the back pocket of her jeans.

  11. Jim Gregory should be receiving mental health services, not providing it.

  12. Mr. Barron should be appointed to that position no matter who is elected. Wasn't he the one who told council there was no need for a tax increase? He was right. Didn't you tell everyone on this blog that taxes will go up if the county kept gracedale? Mr. Barron is right on target and although he gets ripped on this blog all the time he stands up for the county residents and won his election by a landslide.

  13. A tax hike was avoided only bc the County floated a bond to pay part of the swaption. Had the County paid it outright, there would be a tax hike, and now, the county gets to pay debt service. Gracedale will cost the county $5 MM this year, and a bond is needed for improvements there and to our bridges. Barron's statement was wrong.

  14. Oh Good God! Not Barron for Human Services. We have had an inexperienced economic development patronage guy there for eight years, and the place has gone to shit. Please no more idiots. How about someone who has a clue of what is involved under the term "Human Services" and not some flunky. Barron is another flunky.

That would be a good start.

  15. Dear 6:43,

Gregory is not backing McClure. Pay attention.Talking about Mental Health services Bernie. where is your head going to go when it's no longer up Stoffa's butt, lol..Callahan wont be there, and he doesnt want your head up there anyway,,So, off to the looney bin for you, finally

  16. Leave Jim alone Bernie..I have told
you before, he'll stay off this blog if you just grow up AND GET OFF HIS CASE.

  17. Anon 3:00 good lord, what a disturbing image that is! Next thing you will be suggesting that Gregory take Kitty on a slumber cruise.

  18. Yes, stop picking on Gregory or he will start his own blog- Lehigh Valley Incoherent Blatherings.

  19. You stated the County floated a bond to pay for the swaption. That i the most irresponsible act of County government officials in the history of the County. How can you call Stoffa a great administrator when he does stupid shit like this. Now we pay interest on the bond besides paying off the swaption. 26 million dollars and nothing to show for it. Thank you Mr. Reibman and Mr. Stoffa. These two men should always be named in the same sentence with the word "SWAPTION". Bernie, he may be your friend but he is a nut case as an Executive.

  20. O'Hare who are you fooling? You wouldn't even debate Jim Gregory when he challenged you to a debate at Panera's. O'hare you chickened out. You know where you can find me or are you just going to be a coward like the rest of the idiotic and moronic clueless cowards on here and run for cover. Just like the time I caught MM with TM all oiled up and in their birthday suits rubbing up on each other. They couldn't get out of there fast enough when me and the little black "piggie" walked in on those two. 8

  21. Well, Gregory's alter ego 8 is back. Must be off his medication again.

  22. Please for the love of god, the next human services director needs to have worked in the field, knows the programs, and can communicate to workers and consumers. We had the last 7 plus years of a do nothing, know nothing guy who was out of his league when he started. Marcus has successfully executed his plan to cut services to consumers, privatize programs, and piss off all his administrators. Ask any one of the program administrators what they think of Ross and they will tell you much if not more of the same. Cannot get much worse in 2014
