MIA McClure

As it does every month, Northampton County Council's Personnel and Finance Committees met yesterday afternoon. And as happen every month, Council member and Executive candidate Lamont McClure was absent. He attended just 2 budget hearings and only went to just 4 of the 30 committee hearings held in 2012. His combined attendance was just 47%. The year before, it was even worse, at 41%. Since his appointment to Council in 2006, he has consistently been among the worst, when it comes to attendance.

His legal and judiciary committee is now in its third year without a single meeting.

Part of yesterday's meeting involved Nazareth's ailing pool. Borough Council President Dan Chiavaroli had the courtesy to come and lay out the problem. But McClure, who just happens to represent the Nazareth District, couldn't be bothered to be there.

In March, McClure missed another important meeting involving ambulance service to Gracedale, which is served by Nazareth Ambulance, located in his District.

If he's unable to represent the citizens within his own District, how will he represent the citizens of this County?

  2. I snapped it when they all assembled at the grounds of Gracedale to protest the sale. It's probably the only time he's ever been there.

  5. Amazing,

This man helped those who saved Gracedale, our most precious asset, and he's being condemned for missing idiotic meetings. Seriously, Bernie. Is this all you got?

  12. Stoffa is probably sleeping right now. As usual, he sleeps through most county issues while his pathetic little minions destroy the county. I personally don't give a damn what Stoffa does. 8

  16. McClure has been there way more than one time. Let's look at Callahan his attempt to show his "dedication" to Gracedale at his announcement would mark the one and only time John Callahan has been to Gracedale. Heck his family got lost on the way to the announcement. I am surprised Callahan knows there is more to Northampton County than Bethlehem as he talks about Bethlehem more than about his plan for Northampton County.

  19. Actually there are three good choices. And then there's Callahan. He has said nothing about the issues at Gracedale other than doing a photo op. when asked if
He'll get rid of these idiots running human services , he couldn't even committ to answer that. Does the man have a soul, or passion, or commitment to anything but his political future? Doubt that...Has he even made a statement on this multimillion dollar boondoggle of a Human Service building?
Where do you stand John?......Everybody wants to know..

  21. WHO cares about Grace-freaking-dale!! Come on!! The majority of voters, theVAST majority, are going into the booth and pulling Callahan. Mayor of Bethlehem. While idiots on both sides (fake rev, bernie, mcclure, mezzwacko etc) debate this every day, it will not decide this election.

At the end of the day, Callahan will win and everyone will fall in line behind him. Except john brown. What is Brown's stance on Gracedale?!

  22. I just received a "Unknown Caller" robo call from McStupid and I'm assuming that he is too busy to attend meetings because he's dialing the calls himself...

  23. Look, it's time to give Callahan a break on all the county geography crap. He had a perfectly well functioning GPS that was lost when one of his family members destroyed a city police cruiser. He's awaiting a legal opinion on using campaign funds to purchase a new one, because proper reports weren't filed to document loss of the old one. It's a Callahan thing. Bernie, please explain this to the haters. You're much better at carrying John's water.

  27. Things are really ramping up. Callahan TV spots running now along with Glenn's and more McClure mailers arrive..now twice a week instead of weekly. The vote is one months away..will any of these guys run out of money before they hit the tape? Reibman visiting the Slate Belt on April 30 for a breakfast get togethter in Wind Gap at the Gap diner. free food? Somehow I doubt that but we'll see. The courting of the Slate Belt has begun in earnest.

  30. The accompanying photo of Lamont smelling his own broken wind is meant to embarrass. Who hasn't tried to slip an SBD in public? It's time to level the playing field and show Callahan playing pocket pool and Glenn using his casket-mounted transfusion machine. Advocacy is good. Fairness is better.

  31. Lets hope Lamont and council grow a set and sift through Stoffa and his administration. They are successfully wrecking human services, sheriff office, as well as fighting w the courts and DA. Time to wake up council and listen to the taxpayers and employees of this county. Maybe an idea would be to have town hall meetings w council that is open to taxpayers and employees to tell council all the BS that has been going on the past 7 plus years.

  32. God Bless Lamont McClure!

  33. Excellent point 1235. It's long overdue

Council needs to wake up. 8
